Experience the luxury of indoor-outdoor living while watching the whales from your lanai as you sip your morning coffee, or while you catch the sunset from the comfort of your living room, or as you let the sound of the waves lull you to sleep.
What’s “indoor-outdoor” living? It’s what you get when doors that slide out of sight replace the original 12-foot wall between living room and lanai, resulting in a single expansive open living area.
Extensively remodeled in 2007, this sparkling oceanfront property boasts dual-zone air conditioning, coffered ceilings, ceiling fans throughout, stone kitchen counters, original artwork and quality McGuire furnishings. The dining table seats six—or eat at the kitchen island or on the lanai with its Weber gas grill. The big-screen TV rotates 90 degrees, so you can watch from any of those spots-- if you can keep your eyes off the panoramic view.
And “panoramic” here means watching the sunset from your lanai virtually any time of year, or savoring vistas that stretch from Pu'u Olai in the south to the West Maui Mountains in the north, with the islands of Kaho'olawe and Lana'i in between. In season, spot whales from your lanai—or from the dining table or couch, since you’ll be enjoying expansive ocean views from bedroom, living and dining rooms, and kitchen.
Located in beautiful Wailea, this gorgeous 1-bedroom, 2 bath unit can sleep 2 to 4 with its king size bed in the master suite and queen size wall bed in the living room. Its location in lower Ekahi Village means no long climbs up the hill after a day at the beach. Forgot your sunscreen? It’s a three-minute walk back home to retrieve it—two if you’re in a hurry. The Ekahi beach pavilion and main swimming pool are a minute away. A smaller “adult” pool and paddle tennis court are a half-minute walk the other direction—not far from the herb garden. Two additional swimming pools dot the 35 spacious acres of mature and lush tropical landscaping in this complex.
Take advantage of the private beach entrance from this exclusive Wailea property, just next to the main pool, that drops you right onto the sand—no streets to cross, just an easy garden path right to the water. Then turn right for a half-mile of beautiful Keawakapu beach, one of the more secluded beaches in South Maui, since it lies in front of beautiful private homes, with only one hotel at the far north end and one condo complex (Wailea Ekahi Village) at the south. Or from your private Ekahi beach entrance you can turn left, where a few steps past the tide pools will take you the world-famous Wailea beach walk. There you can stroll another mile and a half to the south, if you like, past the waterside resorts and restaurants of Wailea and to three more beaches, with all the beachside activities you’d expect from a five-star resort property.
A five-minute drive south gets you to the Shops at Wailea where you can indulge your cravings, whether it’s Gucci you crave—or just ice cream and a T shirt. And five minutes north lands you in the excitement of Kihei, the other center for shopping, food and activities of South Maui.
Come on. What are you waiting for? Come listen to the waves from this secluded little gem—make it your vacation retreat in paradise. Once you’re here, it’s only three minutes till you’ve got your toes in the sand.
We enjoyed our stay. The unit has a great view and the indoor/outdoor living is magical. The unit is modern and comfortable, especially the kitchen with everything you need. There is easy access to the pool and beach which was delightful. Michael and Michael were good hosts who were quick to respond to our needs.
We loved this unit so much we didn't want to leave to go home. The owners provided an extensive how to manual for the unit along with some great suggestions for the local area. The Maui Revealed guidebook in the unit was extremely helpful and in fact we found the best place to view the crater from Mt Haleakala at the Lei Lei Lookout due to the guidebook. The beach and pool are a short walk away. We used the pull out bed which was very comfortable. We love the property and would recommend this unit in particular.
Ekahi Village is an older property, about 40 years old. Fortunately, the grounds around the property have been maintained so beautifully, they could call it a botanical garden and charge for tours. This unit is close to the main pool on the property, and the pool has private access to Keawakapu Beach, one of the nicest beaches in Hawaii. The sand is soft and golden, with very few rocks, the waves are gentle, and the bottom has a gradual slope. Rocky outcrops at the ends of the beach provide a habitat for sea turtles and all kinds of fish.
This is the 4th Ekahi Village unit we’ve tried. The 1st two where we stayed had never been renovated, and really showed their age. This unit was renovated several years ago, and the renovations turned it into a wonderful place to vacation. The signature feature of the unit is the 4 sliding glass doors that can disappear into the wall, completely opening up the living room to the spacious lanai. The unit is up on a hill, slightly above the beach front houses below. From the lanai, you look out over the flowering bougainvillea on the trellis, over the palm trees, and over the ocean toward the islands of Lanai and Kahoʻolawe. You aren’t right next to the beach, but you can still hear the sounds of waves, along with the chatter of the doves, cardinals, and myna birds. Every mornings I’d pick up my breakfast from Cinnamon Roll Place, take it out on the lanai with a cup of coffee and the paper, to enjoy the sounds of the tropics.
The whole unit is furnished thoughtfully and tastefully. We did have to use the A/C one hot and humid day, and it worked quietly and efficiently. The kitchen had everything we needed and then some. The 2 Tommy Bahama backpack beach chairs have a pocket for your stuff, and an insulated pocket for your beverages. The 3 burner Weber grill even had a spare tank. We hope we can come back soon.
Beautiful, serene, comfortable, perfect. What's not to love!
We loved the condo, beautiful place equipped with everything we needed. Only one thing that would make this place better is if the complex offered some services at the main pool, in particular a bar to have a nice drink while enjoying the sunset.
Spent a week with with two kids. Very convenient to pool and beach. Beach was great for kids. Snorkeling was nice too. Loved the open living. Within a few miles of stores. Place was clean and well kept. It was quiet and the view was lovely. Would definitely go back to this property again.
