Lovely suite in the heart of old Vienna

  • 4 of 5

My wife and I really loved this suite and felt that it was ideally situated for exploring the heart of Vienna. The king size bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was roomy and well appointed - a great shower built for two.

Lots of storage closet space so that you can empty your luggage and put your clothes away for a few days. A short walk to the subway and the hop on hop off bus stops a block away. The entrance to the building is not very nice but the suite is modern. Would recommend.

Well updated and comfortable

  • 5 of 5

The apartment was excellent. It was well updated and the bed was really soft. The fold-out couch provided a nice queen-sized bed for our college aged children. Overall, the accommodations were very nice and it had everything we needed.

The apartment location was great and close to the Metro as well as within walking distance to many of the historical areas of Vienna.

Wonderful apartment, great location.

  • 4 of 5

The apartment is large and well equipped. The location is great, on a quiet street, but near to shops, restaurants, tram, and subway. Easy walk to most of the sights.

Only two down sides: The building itself is ugly and the entrance, hall, elevators, and stairs could you some maintenance. And the kitchen is too small and awkwardly located in the corner of the living/dining room. The tiny sink is hard to reach and there is really no counter space. In the bathroom, the sink design will splash you every time you have the water turned on past half-way.

But a great place in need of some plumbing changes.

Perfect for a dream vacation

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed in this apartment for three weeks in May, and couldn't have been more pleased with the accommodation. It was spacious, clean, well-appointed, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Besides the obvious amenities (including very fast wi-fi), it had a speaker system for a computer or smart phone so that we were able to listen to music whenever we were at home. It also had a charger with a USB cable with four kinds of plugs for charging a variety of devices, which reduces the need, if you're coming from the US, for adapters for European outlets. Both the queen-sized bed and the sofa bed were very comfortable, and there were plenty of extra towels and sheets. Rita and Klaus were there to greet us on our arrival, provided a map, and told us where to find grocery stores, etc. They were quick to answer later inquiries. In addition to the comforts of the apartment, the location of the building is perfect for exploring Vienna's best features by foot. It's close to Stephansplatz, which is arguably the center of Viennese life. It's a few short blocks from a transit plaza where you can catch a shuttle to the airport, a subway, a tram, or a boat on the Danube (we took the boat to Bratislava one day). The transit plaza is itself a lively place, especially after work, when people sit at outdoor tables eating gelato or order from numerous food carts. The building's also within easy walking distance of the Hofburg Palace, many beautiful gardens, and more museums than you can count. Even closer is St. Peter's Church, a baroque wonder that has free organ concerts every weekday afternoon. And closer than that was our favorite wurst stand - at Hoher Markt, the oldest square in Vienna. We were also pleased to discover a little neighborhood restaurant, Cafe Theo ( Franz-Josefs-Kai 39), just two blocks away that serves hearty home-style meals from morning to night. Just across the street from the apartment building is Rudolphsplatz, a quiet park frequented by families, where mothers and their babies lie on the grass and children play in a fenced playground. All of old Vienna lies at your feet in this location. I would recommend this apartment to anyone who wants to breathe in Vienna's history, be amazed by its grand architecture, and be enchanted by its beauty.

Excellent location

  • 4 of 5

I was happy with renting this apartment from Rita. The location is within about 15 min of most of the beautiful Vienna sights. It was very convenient...we walked or rented city bikes during our stay. Both the supermarket and the bike station are about 5 min. from the apartment. One small down point is the air conditioner - it is a bit noisy and also did not cool the bedroom well enough. Overall we enjoyed our rental and would recommend this unit.
