Our house is on the bayside of Little Gasparilla Island overlooking Placida Sound. Little Gasparilla is a bridgeless barrier island (only accessible by boat) north of Boca Grande; is 7 miles long with beautiful white sand beaches. The south 2 miles of the island is Little Gasparilla which is connected to the north by a 1 mile long state park, Don Pedro with Palm Island to the north of the park - all connected by the same 7 mile beach.
The house has large front porch shaded by gumbo limbo trees for relaxing and enjoying the view, barbequing and outside dining. The dock accommodates 2 boats easily. The end of the dock is great for fishing (cleaning tables under roof)and the glider seating provides morning or night views of the bay and it's plentiful wildlife.
Inside, the kitchen and counter top seating works well for entertaining and the dining area seats 8. A large L shaped couch seats many and 40' TV is connected to Dish Net Satellite. Wi-Fi is connected to Wildbird Satelite. Downstairs there are three small bedrooms, two with queen beds & dressers and the small back bedroom has bunk beds. Two bathrooms and the large enclosed outdoor shower services the downstairs area. Upstairs is a private large bedroom accommodated with a queen bed, double pull out futon, bathroom with shower, satelite TV.
Beach access is on side off house to the rear 500 feet to the Gulf of Mexico.
There are no cars on the island and no businesses or restaurants. There are several bars & restaurants that you can get to by boat. The island has wonderful cart paths and you can rent a golf cart to go exploring the island, although most people are happy walking or jogging the beaches. Boat taxis are available to transport to and from for avg fee of $15 per person each way.
Note: My dock is not shared, my boats are off site when the property is rented. Full power on the dock and the dock will accomodate 2 boats.

I work as an investment advisor in Sarasota and enjoy spending time in this boating old Florida environment.
Rande Ridenour purchased this house in 1998
After growing up in Sarasota during the 60's, I was looking for a similar boating and beach environment of cottage type homes and small population we enjoyed years ago. Little Gasparilla gives me a similar feeling of being Florida's version of the Bahamas Abacos.
This was our second time at LG island. This house was perfect for us. My husband and I had the upstairs sweet and our teenagers slept downstairs. The house is more than sufficiently stocked with everything you could need from beach towels to toilet paper to spices and cooking oils. The owner Rande was easy to reach if we needed him. Loved having a private dock for the boat. Hoping to return again next year!
The house was comfortable and spacious, plenty of room for our family of 6. The kitchen was great for preparing meals. The upstairs bedroom was like an oasis, so nice to wake up to beautiful views of the bay. The private dock and deck was our favorite part. So convenient with our boat and having it all right there. We fished every day, and had lunch at a different island every day too! We loved having the boat as our only form of transportation. Tons of wildlife all around. So convenient to the beach too. A great vacation!
Very nice atmospheres
Perfect house. Great dock. Easy to get to and get unpacked on the island
Hang, fish or boat from the private dock or walk to the beach in minutes (maybe seconds if you're in a hurry). The owner, Rande, was very quick to respond to questions prior to us renting. The home is exceptionally equipped by the owners and from former tenants who left items behind. We are building on the island but if we need another visit prior to project completion I would truly hope to be able to stay here again!!
This was our third time staying on the LGI and this was by far our favorite spot! Great deck, boat dock, awesome kitchen and nice layout.
Fishing in Boca Grande and Bull Bay and Gulf of Mexico.
