Large Corner Beachfront family apartment in the Zona Norte section of Cartagena. A short walk to the Hotel Las Americas. 205 square meters of lovely stone floor and whitewashed cement walls. Very private apartment only three apartments on the level. The apartment is located on the fifth floor, two floors from rooftop pool.
WE CAN ONLY RENT TO FAMILIES. MAXIMUM 8 PERSONS. NO UNREGISTERED GUESTS.

The Cleaning fee is applied to cover the cost of the 5 days per week full time maid provided to you who is a full time on the books employee and we pay her health insurance, pension, workers comp and unemployment taxes.
The building charges a penalty per person for short term rentals for anyone that enters and requires our written express permission referencing that persons passport number. Therefore all guests must be registered at the time of booking. Add-ons will not be given permission to enter the building unless we approve them and an additional fee will be required. We reserve the right to refuse entry if identities of guests are changed.
It has a large living/room dining area, three bedrooms which each have their own full bathroom. There is also a guest half bath.
There is an enclosed t.v. room/home office.
The building is very private and exclusive. Inside and out it is a very elegant, yet unpretentious environment. The building was designed using 'feng shui' principles and is unique among its counterparts. There are 24 hour security guards at the main entrance and garage and at the beach access entrance. The beach access area has outdoor showers.
We will only rent to families (no teenagers or young adults without parents) and no more than 8 total, no exceptions.
Rental includes daily maid (and cooking) service for 5 days a week.
Building is 5 minutes from the airport, 10 minutes from the walled city and 15-20 minutes from Bocagrande.

We chose this building in the Boquilla section because we wanted a relaxing beach environment and an exclusive building with a strong neighbor/community atmosphere.
Many activities nearby for children, wonderful neighbors. There are only approximately 40 apartments in the building, all are large family apartments and many owners are year round residents. This is a rental to bring your family or friends with their family and enjoy a comfortable, relaxing stay at the beach. The building management is very strict about enforcing noise and nuisance regulations. It is not a party or 'spring break' appropriate destination.
We spent an amazing week in this apartment and could not have picked a more perfect place. My husband, myself, our 4 year old son and my parents felt spoiled beyond measure. Leydis was so good to us! Her arepas are so delicious we brought some home with us. This busy mom could really get used to someone cleaning and cooking for her;) We spent most of our days lounging there and found everything we needed or could want available to use. From board games to books to movies, it was all there! For transportation we HIGHLY recommend Elsa!! She lives in the same building and Clayton can put you in touch. She was our personal taxi all week and the price was no more than a cab! She drove us to the mall, old city, grocery store, the Castillo and even airport shuttle. We also ordered fresh sea food from the guard one night and breakfast of hot empanadas a few mornings. Our son asks everyday to return to the "vacation house" and we are already planning another trip back! HUGE thanks to Clayton for sharing this paradise with us.

This is an amazing apartment! As the name of the building, "Mar Abierto" suggests, you feel as though you are one with the beautiful open sea. There is a great ocean breeze and the view is breathtaking, morning, noon and night.
The pictures are all accurate, if anything the apartment is more beautiful in person. The “unseen” elements are all excellent. The apartment has a great layout and the bedrooms are quiet. We particularly enjoyed the small office/tv room which was great both for kids watching TV and adults needing some work space. The air conditioning is great – way over powered allowing you to rapidly cool down the apartment at will.
The terrace gets a fantastic breeze and the hammocks are as inviting as they would appear.
I also recommend the apartment to architectural buffs – it’s built without exterior right angles – the curves of the building open up all the apartments to views and breeze. It’s aesthetically pleasing , functional and interesting.
The beach is wide and great here – much better than boca grande. The price of this beach is a $4-5 cab ride to get to the old city. The building is two buildings over from the Radisson hotel (the beach is so big you wouldn’t know this from the beach side) and cabs are available on demand (the building will call one for you). About ten minutes from the airport. The apartment is well-equipped with beach towels, toys and chairs.
The maid is nice and cooks well. It was particularly relaxing to have someone clean up after you and cook for you (inlcuded in the price of the apt.!). The owner is very well organized (as reflected in the preparation of the apartment) and a great communicator (helping with arrangements and some recommendations).
We had a wonderful stay and will be dreaming about Cartagena and Mar Abierto until we are able to return! Thank you for an amazing vacation!!!!
toda nuestra experiencia en el apartamento fue maravillosa, llegas y tienes un apto supremamente cómodo con una vista al mar inmejorable en una excelente ubicación, con la playa a unos cuantos pasos solo saliendo del edificio, la piscina en el ultimo piso fue el espacio perfecto para apreciar el atardecer o leerte un libro, en resumen lo recomiendo a ojo cerrado, te sientes en tu propia casa, debo resaltar la atención que recibimos por parte de la propietaria quien estuvo siempre pendiente de lo que necesitáramos en cualquier momento....sin duda volveremos!!
I have stayed at this property many times with both friends and family and have always had the best experience! Great location right on the beach, quiet and relaxed away from the bustle yet still conveniently close to the historic center. And have to love the infinity pool!
Beautiful apartment with a wonderful view. Extremely comfortable, we'll designed. One of the best I've found in Cartagena. I highly recommend it!
