Family vacation of a lifetime.

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed a 50th birthday celebration with children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. The Victorian era of the home was perfect. We had great family time enjoying the large living room, dining room and two porches. We enjoyed campfires every evening. We walked the beach, kayaked, canoed and walked to Samoset. The hosts were so accommodating. We enjoyed the pool at their Irish Claddaugh Motel just a few steps up the street. This location was great, close to shopping and activities.

Best Vacation Ever

  • 5 of 5

We had a great experience at the Irish Rose. It was perfect for our needs. The home was as advertised, spacious, fully equipped and comfortable. We loved hanging out on both porches. The cove was great for kayaking at high tide and beach combing at low tide. The location, between Camden and Rockland, was convenient but without the throngs those areas attract. The owners, Alex and Siobhan, were responsive without being on top of us. We would like to thank them for their hospitality. We would happily recommend the Irish Rose and hope to return next year.

Best vacation ever

  • 5 of 5

We loved this house. It was spacious and comfortable with beautiful views. The house was well equipped for cooking and everything we needed was provided. The owners were responsive and kind without being on top of us. Some of our friends stayed at the Claddagh Hotel, owned by the same folks, when we were at capacity and they also had a great time. When the tide was in, we could kayak from the beach in back of us and when it was out, we could beach comb and walk for miles. The location is close to Camden and Rockland but away from the heavy throngs those locations attract. We walked to the breakwater lighthouse at Samoset Resort a couple of times and also dined at Samoset one evening as it was close by. I would happily recommend the Irish Rose to anyone and we hope to return next year. Thanks, Alex and Siobhan, for your hospitality.

A Truly Wonderful Place to Stay

  • 5 of 5

We really loved staying at the Irish Rose. Such a fabulous location and amazing views. I think it ranks as the best place we have ever rented in Maine and for the price, this was a pretty good bargain. What made it a great stay was the owners. Siobhan stopped by several times to see if everything was alright or if we needed something. We had a few minor issues and she promptly took care of them in the most cheerful manner and she even stopped by to say goodbye as we were about to depart. Such a lovely lady. We truly felt like we were visiting family. We plan to come back!

Wonderful house!

  • 5 of 5

Ocean and beach in our backyard and Route 1 easy access to take us to sightseeing. Couldn't ask for better owners Alex and Siobhan. Spacious with lovely furnishings and comfortable beds. Would recommend to anyone. Not a single issue or complaint here and we'd come back again.
