Bed and Breakfast style....without the breakfast.
Enjoy a comfortable Urban Retreat in our European style attic apartment. We are conveniently located just a few blocks from downtown in a historic home, nestled in a quiet residential neighborhood. Our home is adjacent to the Swede Hill Historic District, which is on the National Register of Historic Places.
The apartment is fully furnished including an authentic hammock from the Yucatan and an antique claw foot tub with hand held shower hose. Furnishings also include a bistro table, lounge chair, and desk. It has a compact kitchen with a refrigerator, gas stove, microwave, cooking and dining utensils. A private entrance to the apartment is by way of a spiral staircase on the outside of our home. Plenty of free on-street parking is available in front of the house.
Credit Cards are accepted via HomeAway payments & Pay Pal.

The 100 year old house was purchased in 1994. At the time it was abandoned, condemned, and on a path toward demolition. During the renovation, the roof was raised to make room for a living space in the 'attic'. The attic apartment was completed in 1997 and rented as an unfurnished apartment for nine years. In October, 2006, it was converted to a vacation rental with the name of 'An Affordable Urban Retreat.' Two years later, we changed the name to 'La Vita Oasis Retreat' as it is today. We think you'll like it here, our guests have.
This is an absolutely wonderful place to stay!
Spacious and bright apartment, well equipped
(wireless internet, cable TV, kitchen appliances and
utensils, towels and bath products), with nice small
touches all around (hammock, candles, coffee,
guidebooks). Close to downtown and UT (absolutely
walkable although there are several bus stops
nearby too). The owner is very professional and nice
- it was a pleasure to deal with him and to spend
our week-long vacation at this sweet place. Many
This is an ideal location to downtown and i35. Plenty of parking outside the house too. The place is clean and quiet and I had no problems. The only thing I didn't like was the bathtub since I'm not used to taking baths, and I was always worried the water would go everywhere with the detachable shower head. Everything else was great!
I loved that it had everything I needed, was clean and organized and only 3 minutes from where I was working and 6 minutes from Whole Foods!
I plan on staying here again next time I work in Austin.
This place was great for our weekend get away! Clean, cozy and comfortable. Myer was great to work with. We had some issues with payment - not his fault - and he was easy to work with to get that taken care of. Neat neighborhood close to downtown and all of the things that Austin has to offer. At first we thought the hammock in the room was a little weird but we actually really enjoyed it and spent time reading and napping there! Awesome little feature. I would highly recommend this place and would stay there again!
The room is very private but also gets amazing natural light during the day. The door overlooking the garden was awesome, perfect for listening to the storms we've been getting. Fantastic access to downtown, only a 10 minute walk to the Capitol.
A cozy place to stay and near walking distance to some great places to eat.
We stayed here during ACL weekend. We knew prices to anywhere during that weekend would be inflated, but Oasis was at a reasonable price. The location is great! you can even see a bit of the Capitol from the stairs. The room is cozy and perfect in size. I had never seen a bath tub next to the bed, but that didn't bother me. I would say, the tv needs a bit of an upgrade. Other than that, I liked that the room was supplied with everything. Also, the neighborhood is pretty quiet despite its proximity to UT. Also, safe since we walked around it at night. I'd definitely recommend this place!
The apartment is conveniently located just a few blocks from downtown in a historic house, nestled in a quiet residential neighborhood. Despite appearing to be so close to the interstate highway, the area is remarkably quiet with many trees and greenery. All of our guests have commented on how quiet it is, despite being so close to downtown. The house is adjacent to the Swede Hill Historic District, which is on the National Register of Historic Places.
