This cottage is located in the charming town of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, in a quiet, excellent location. Various cultural attractions are nearby, such as the Ettal monastery, the cultural city of Oberammergau (20 km), Linderhof Palace and Park (26 km), Neuschwanstein Castle in Fussen (65 km) and Hohenschwangau (65 km). In a radius of 30 km there are several beautiful lakes and you can reach from your holiday home from walking a golf course. You have this house all alone. The holiday home is a spacious private terrace with garden. Here you have a lot of privacy and a fantastic view of the Zugspitze
We (group of 5) absolutely loved our stay at this small vacation home on the outskirts of Garmisch-Partenkirchen (in the village of Ferngau). The view from the kitchen table of the surrounding Alps is to die for. There is a tiny backyard & garden to sit in and enjoy the view.
The unit is well equipped and has two upstairs bedrooms plus a small private bedroom in the finished basement. There are bathrooms on all 3 levels!
It is probably best to have an auto to access this property as you'll need to drive to grocery stores or nearby activities. We used it as a base of operations to visit all of "Mad King Ludwig's" Bavarian castles (which are within an hour's drive). Munich is 60 miles away.
The house footprint is physically small, but it works very well thanks to an excellent room layout. Parking in front of the unit is very limited, and our BMW station wagon stretched across the entire front property line. Be aware of trash pick-up days (hours) when your car must be removed from the street.
The house has a condensing ("ventless") eco-friendly washer-dryer combo in the basement. These units are common in Europe. It's important to not fill the tub more than half-way with clothes or drying time will be many hours. Also they take much longer and do not get the clothes as dry as US electric or gas dryers. There is a nearby Aldi supermarket for groceries. PS: When shopping at Aldi, you put a 1 euro coin into the coin slot on the handle of the grocery cart to release its chain from the stack of carts. This deposit is returned when you reconnect the cart's chain after finishing shopping and returning the cart. There is a Subway and Burger King within easy drive on the road into Garmisch. We drove an hour in the rain to visit Schloss Neuschwanstein only to find the wait for tours was over 4 hours. If you go to Neuschwanstein, be sure to purchase tickets in advance.
We was stayed there for six nights in december 2015 had the wonderfull stay very clean and tidy house we had everything what we need the owner Marcus was very
polite and helpfull so everyone from the party was happy and we all looking forward to go back one day.So if you looking for nice place to stay in Garmish
that is perfect choice.Highly recomended
