Nice cabin! Great fireplace!

  • 5 of 5

Glad we choose this cabin. It was just what we were looking for in a weekend getaway. Great indoor fireplace with plenty of firewood. The owner responded immediately to all questions. We will be back!

Wish we could have spent more time there!

  • 5 of 5

Spent the day at Winterplace and then drove about 40 minutes over to the cabin. It was very clean and nice. Only two bedrooms , but our party of 14 all had a place to sleep with the 5 cots that were there, the sofa, and we took an air mattress and another cot.

Owner's Response: Connie, so glad it worked out for you. That was a lot of people to fit in the cabin. Hope you can make a trip over in the summer.

Fun place for a couple of days

  • 4 of 5

Myself and a group of friends stayed at this cabin for a ski weekend. The cabin itself was in great condition with a nice large kitchen, fireplace, Jacuzzi tub, and very comfortable sheets! The only downside was the cell service and the wifi access. If you have AT&T, you might be able to get a bar in order to send a text message but if you have any other provider you won't be able to get signal until you hit the main road again (~15min away). The wifi also was not strong enough to allow more than one person on it at a time. However, we made do with the boombox that was there as it gets some stations and my friend had a couple of CDs in her car. Overall, we had a nice time at the cabin- it provided the majority of amenities we were looking for in a ski weekend.

Great Spot For A Nice Weekend!

  • 5 of 5

Six of us and one pup spent New Years weekend at this cabin and had a blast! There were plenty of trails not too far away to hike, and we made a trip out to Thurmond and Beauty Mountain as well, which were incredible. Everything was as described. The cabin was warm and well-stocked, the fireplace was nice in the evenings, and the back porch was nice for stepping out to get some air. The beds were comfortable and the fold-up cots weren't bad either! There were two binders full of movies to watch if you got bored. The wifi was a little laggy, but that was expressed in the description of the cabin, plus we had six people connected at once. Besides, we weren't there for the wifi! Overall a great experience!

Perfect getaway

  • 5 of 5

A group of 6 rented the cabin for 4 nights to raft and zip line. We were 1/2 an hour ride from the adventure resorts. The cottage was perfect it's in such a pretty location on the new river. We enjoyed the firepit and morning coffee on the deck. There is no wireless service for phone calls but could connect to send text or email. The cots were not comfortable but we just doubled mattresses on the floor and that worked for us. The cottage is very clean and beds very comfortable with all amenities provided. I will return and would highly recommend this cottage.

The property is beautiful; a scenic mountain view with the New River out the front window.

  • 4 of 5

The location was great; only 15-20 minutes to Beckley and a little longer to the New River Gorge Bridge. The cabin was clean and ready upon our arrival. We noticed a couple minor repairs needed in the downstairs bathroom, but nothing that kept us from using it. In fact the jacuzzi tub helped melt the long travel day away. The rooms were spacious and comfortable for our family of 8. There was a total of 5 rollaway beds and the kids said they were comfy, too. We had no trouble connecting to wifi. We ate several meals at the cabin including a couple bbq's and found more than enough space and utensils for our group. The grill is a gas/charcoal combo with smoker. No propane tank there, but we picked up some charcoal and had a great cookout. Some of our group did go down to swim in the river. Be aware that getting down the steps is a little treacherous and there are big boulders in the water right near the shoreline. But, once we got past those it was an awesome time in the water. On the final night we enjoyed s'mores at the fire pit in front. I was able to get in touch with Brock by texting and email. We received our deposit back about the time we got to our home. We really had an awesome time and would recommend you take advantage of this hidden gem.
