|Minimum Stay||2 nights|
1000 sq. ft. of a rustic charmed cedar sided cabin on the Lake with a PRIVATE BOAT DOCK, welcomes you to 2 tranquil wooded acres in the Ozark Mountains. We like to call it a 'LAKESIDE HERMITAGE'. Stay 7 nights and pay for 6!
The interior of this 3 bedroom, 2 bath cabin is surrounded by a warm tongue and grooved knotty pine throughout. The great room with 17' ceilings boasts a full kitchen, solid oak dining set, living area w/ large flat screen TV/DVD and lots of windows. A patio door also opens to the deck built around a large towering oak tree for natural shade and faces the lake equipped with patio furniture and a gas grill.
The master bedroom has a queen size bed, massive country French pine dresser and nightstand, and a flat screen TV. The bunk room is off of the master and has its own separate entrance to the bath. The bathroom has a large shower with oil bronze bath fixtures and a granite vanity sink top. The loft features a bedroom with a daybed and attached pull out trundle (both with quality mattresses which can accommodate 2 adults comfortably), private bath with tub, and a sitting area with a bistro table and chairs overlooking the great room and the Lake where a game of cards, chess, or taking in a good book can be had.
At dusk, sit on your balcony or your private boat dock on the water, and enjoy the serene sounds of Owls, Bobwhites, Whip-poor-wills and Coyotes echoing through the valley. The evening also brings a variety of bats bug-surfing overhead for a midnight snack, and the occasional flying squirrel can be caught raiding the bird feeders under the cover of darkness. Or, perhaps gaze into the radiant night sky, absent of all city lights while searching for your favorite star, chase satellites to the horizon, or wish upon a shooting star while swapping stories around a warm crackling campfire.
Also, Mosquitoes are few to NONE!!! Yes, this truly is the 'Best of both Worlds'!
If you are looking for an escape from your fast paced world, basking in the natural tranquility and beauty of the Ozark Mountains, 'THE LAKESIDE HERMITAGE' on Bull Shoals Lake in Arkansas has what you seek. This clear blue lake was formed by the damming of the White River in the mid 1950's, and has been attracting all who love the outdoors ever since. It offers 45,500 acres of lake and 1050 miles of mountain shoreline, straddling the borders of Arkansas and Missouri. Fishing tournaments are held year round because of the outstanding fishing in this area and harbors species such as Walleye, Crappie, Catfish, and numerous varieties of Bass. The amazing cliff structures beneath the waters surface are not only great for fish habitat, but is well known for the great scuba diving and spear fishing due to the clarity of the lake. Pleasure boating is quite safe and relatively light, even on weekends and holidays. The White River, below the dam, is 18 scenic miles away via windy mountain roads, and is world renowned for its trout fishing, where your limit of Cutthroat, Rainbow, and/or Browns can easily be caught. This area remains to still be deemed as 'The mid-south's best kept secret' thus far!

This is my family's 3rd vacation at the Hermitage. We discovered it when my daughter and son-in-law spent their honeymoon there. Her dad and I got to see it then, and we fell in love with it. We have scheduled our summer vacation there for the past three summers. It is charmingly decorated and always clean. It has a private dock where we can tie up our boat while there. We love the swim deck. My husband and I are ages 59 and 60, so we are grateful for the golf cart the owners provide for easy trips between cabin and dock. When we arrived for our stay last week, there was a sigh from each of us that said, "Ahhh, it's good to be back at the cabin." We love waking up to coffee on the deck with a view of the lake. After a quick breakfast, we always head down to the lake for swimming, wake-boarding, skiing, & tubing. It's a great place for fun and play, and with the secluded location, it's perfect for rest and relaxation, too. We highly recommend the Hermitage. Our heartfelt thanks to the owners for sharing their lovely place. We think its a real treasure.
This is our second vacation at the cabin and we had a blast. We enjoyed fishing, boating, tubing, and swimming. Only issue we had was getting our boys out of the water so we can get to some fishing. I did not turn the TV on all week and my boys only watched 2 hours while we were there. That is really impressive. The caretakers were extremely helpful with any questions and shared some worthwhile activities that we all enjoyed. We look forward to going back.
Our family has spent the past two summers as guests at the Hermitage cabin! The cabin is exceptional and super clean. This is an excellent location that provides seclusion yet easy access to your own personal boat slip. The location at Little Sister Creek Arm is ideal for wake boarding and skiing! The owners, caretakers, and cleaning staff have excellent service! Our family looks forward to spending next summer here!
My husband and I, along with one of our good friends, enjoyed our stay in the cabin in the woods! Upon our arrival, we noticed the fridge had basic condiments, there were ample towels in both bathrooms (as well as plenty of toilet paper & paper towels), and the cabin was stocked with books to read, movies to watch, and games to play. The location of the cabin was perfect for us! We love the woods, animals, trees, and Fall weather. We saw numerous grey squirrels and even one that appeared completely white. Also, the birds were plentiful and sang us songs every morning. :) The golf cart allowed us to get to the private dock, with ease, and though we did not take the pontoon out, my husband was impressed with it (he's a boat junkie). The deck off the back of the house was awesome, and we spent every night out on it, either conversing, listening to the trees & critters, or watching the Royals baseball game. Julie (the owner) is awesome to work with and answered all of our questions, without hesitation. Also, she gave us TONS of information on the area and where we should visit for the most breath-taking views of Arkansas. I recommend staying at the Hermitage and want to say "Thank you, Julie for everything!". The only reason I did not give this rental 5 stars is because I never do. I never give perfect reviews.... that's just me though. :)
Husband, Wife and our Lab dog treasured our stay at Lake Hermitage. We felt at home the minute we arrived. It felt like a treehouse relaxing on their deck! We spent many hours fishing off the dock as our dog played and swam near the shore and dock entry. The last night of October 15th, we sat outside and watched a beautiful thunder storm. I enjoyed going upstairs to soak in the quaint ambiance and fresh, clean bathroom. After an over 10 hour drive and arriving early, we called the owners and they happily let us drive on to the cabin several hours early. My husband and I always felt they wanted us to be happy and comfortable. A return trip has already been discussed.
This cabin sits on the edge of the "Middle Sister" on Bull Shoals Lake, a prime location for large mouth and small mouth bass. My sons and I have been driving past Truman Lake, Stockton, Lake of the Ozarks, and Table Rock for years to fish Bull Shoals, usually staying in a hotel for the weekend. After staying at Randy and Julie's place, we won't be staying in any hotels anymore. The cabin was beautiful and the amenities were awesome; gas grill, fire pit with supplied wood, golf cart to get from the cabin to the dock, a dock with swimming platform (aka a fantastic spot for cat fishing at night). We had 8 guys on this trip and we all slept comfortably in the cabin. Randy and Julie were an absolute pleasure to work with and their local neighbors made sure that we had everything we needed for a wonderful weekend. I would highly recommend this place!
