About The Owner

Mike and Karla West welcome you to the Bitterroot Valley! The Wests moved to Hamilton from Steamboat, Colorado in 1975. They have been blessed to call Snowberry Lane 'home' for 39 years. Mike can point you in the direction of a good trout stream and Karla knows all the best antique shops and restaurants in the valley.

The Owner purchased this cabin in 1976

Great family getaway!

  • 5 of 5

What a wonderful stay we had at the loft! It was the perfect base camp for our family (2yo, 4yo, and our dog) as we explored the Bitterroot Valley. Karla even made a special trip to town to get toys for our littles when we found ourselves with a rainy day. We had everything we needed for a great stay! Thank you Karla and Mike! We'd definitely stay again!

Great loft - beautiful area

  • 5 of 5

Me, my boyfriend, and our dog had a great time at the Bitterroot Fishing Loft. Very spacious - and so much room to roam outside! Our dog had the best time exploring the woods.

The loft is away from it all, yet only 5 minutes from Main Street which has lots of shops and cafes. I had a blast at their Farmer's Market too - live music and so many great vendors!

We definitely would stay here again!

Wonderful Location and Graceous Hosts...

  • 5 of 5

A friend and I recently used the Bitterroot Fishing Loft as home base while fishing the Bitterroot watershed. The loft was perfect for that purpose being clean, very spacious and well furnished. The West's property is beautiful, secluded and quiet while still having good proximity to the center of Hamilton and its amenities. Karla is an engaging and charming host who went out of her way to help after the airline lost a bag containing fishing tackle. The West's generous loan of some much-needed items saved a day of fishing. Our stay couldn't have been better and I recommend the loft to others without reservation.

A great place in Montana in the last great place, Montana.

  • 5 of 5

It stands to reason Montana couldn't be the "Last great place" if it didn't contain great places.

The Fishing Loft is definitely numbered among them.

A quiet place in the forest away from the noise and smell of the city, but comfortably close to a town that has everything you would reasonably need.

Clean, quiet, well maintained, and hosts that can make good recommendations for where to eat, what to see, etc.

What else could you ask for?

Not handicap accessible, since it has stairs.

Baseball Moms very happy!

  • 4 of 5

I travel across Montana during the summer attending various baseball tournaments with my sons. I travel with another Mom and we love staying in VRBOs as an excellent alternative than the local hotels. We can comfortably stretch out, make meals, and make a home away from home for the kids. The Bitterroot Fishing Loft was a welcome retreat for us while we were in Hamilton. We loved the beautiful mountain setting and every morning took beautiful walks along the lupine filled trails. Thank you for a great weekend!

Beautiful Setting!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I rented this loft for an extended stay in the Bitterroot Valley and couldn't have picked a better place. It's close to the Blodget Canyon trails (definitely within walking distance), but still only about 4 miles to town. The owners are very courteous and accommodating. The living quarters were clean and well furnished, and the morning sunlight coming through the kitchen window went great with coffee and pancakes. We had a great stay and will recommend this place to our friends.
