About Asa Davis
I'm from Rhode Island, and while growing up spent as much time on the water as possible! My interests include scuba diving, boating, windsurfing, sailing, and fishing - if it involves the ocean, I probably like it. -Asa Davis, Owner
Asa Davis purchased this House in 1999
Why Asa Davis chose Saunderstown
We purchased this property in 1999. We were looking for property on Narragansett Bay with a beach and boat dock for family vacations where we could enjoy privacy, peace and quiet. This fit the bill perfectly!
What makes this House unique
The beach and water access first, spectacular views, the large lawn and shaded areas just back from the beach, the protected location, strong, sturdy construction with fine details, and plenty of space for the family and activities both inside and out!
Pool / Spa
Local Services & Businesses
Sports & Adventure Activities
Perfect location for a family reunion
We could not have had a better experience at this delightful property and will definitely be returning.
The house is wonderfully clean and well-appointed (without being 'stuffy' or 'fragile') and has everything you need for hosting large groups for a get away on the Rhode Island shore, from lobster pots to beach towels to kayaks to board games. The views from the dock are extraordinary and we enjoyed evening bonfires by the shore.
We were there with five children all under the age of six and they had an amazing time playing by the water, scooping shells, running races on the large yard, and going for walks around the beautiful property.
The location is perfect: it's a very private spot at the end of a quiet side road but still quite near Jamestown, Wickford, and Newport.
Asa was extremely communicative and generous with his time and even helped us arrange grocery delivery. He allowed us to tour the property before we finalized the booking, which was quite helpful. All the billing and paperwork was extremely organized. Thank you Asa for a great time!
Thank you so much for your kind words! You've captured the essence of what we try to offer at our Saunderstown property. I'm glad to hear your entire family enjoyed it, and we look forward to seeing you again soon!
An absolutely lovely spot to spend a quiet few days.
The house was lovely, the yard and view was spectacular. Couldn't have asked for more.
Thank you, Asa!
We rented this house for out-of-town guests coming in for a surprise birthday party. These guests (from around the country and abroad, and who live in some beautiful areas themselves) could not have been more appreciative of being put up in an A+ place -- it was such a treat for them to stay in one of the most beautiful spots on the entire Narragansett Bay. The property could not have a better set-up: incredible wooded area, the house in a secluded spot right on the water, with Jamestown, Dutch Island and Newport Bridge in view. Wonderful patio and dock spaces and private beach for easy access to the water. And Asa, the host, could not have been more responsive and helpful -- as an example, the coffee maker was not working, and Asa came over promptly and replaced it with a brand new one! Our stay could not have been better!
Dear Mr. N, thank you for your wonderful comments! It was a pleasure to host your stay, and we were glad to hear it was a complete success! Many happy returns! Sincerely, Asa Davis
Lovely property, prime location
Asa was there to meet us when we arrived and gave us a tour of the house and grounds, both meticulously maintained. The first floor is open and provides plenty of room for cooking, dining and lounging, even for a larger group than ours. The large property, private beach and dock afford privacy and an amazing view. My husband, son and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay--wish we could have had a few more days!
Thank you for your kind comments! It was a pleasure meeting you and your family, and we're glad you had a wonderful time. We hope to see you again!
Its "Siren Call" never fades; always calling for our return.
I grew up in coastal Rhode Island not far from Jamestown's bridge. From my home in New Hampshire, after the holidays pass, after the New Year, after the Super Bowl, comes the February vision of that bridge across Narragansett Bay and the absolute escape this space on Griffith Road holds within its aura. This was our third Biennial visit, and on first sitting in those chairs at the shore, after two years, our immediate thought was: it seems like we never left! Once there, you never have to leave; completely self-contained. --it's our five night August home that stays with us throughout the year. Very much looking forward to the next time!
Thank you so much for your kind review! I agree, the area and water make it seem almost timeless. We're also looking forward to your next visit!
This home was the perfect place for a family gathering.
Glad to hear it! I'm happy your family enjoyed their stay, and we look forward to seeing you again!
