We fell in love with Green Lake over 20 years ago and decided this is where we would like to live full-time one day. Until then, we love to share our home with friends and family.
We hope you'll enjoy our place as well.
Ruth Martin purchased this house in 2007
Green Lake is a beautiful lake resort town located within 90 miles of Milwaukee, Madison or Green Bay! The Green Lake area hosts a distinctive array of fine dining, lodging, entertainment, shopping & championship golf courses. A prime vacation destination that includes the arts, culture, proximity to Wisconsin's deepest natural inland lake and all that it has to offer. The natural beauty of Green Lake is awe-inspiring and can be enjoyed while biking, fishing, boating, camping and a host of many other outdoor activities.
Our home is situated on the south shoreline. It offers a beautiful shoreline and breathtaking sunset views.
We really enjoyed our stay at your lovely lake house despite the schizophrenic weather. Everyone loved having their own bedroom and nice clean roomy bathrooms. The kitchen rocked! When it was warm we enjoyed the water and firepit and when it was cold we sat by the fireplace and played a mean game of Scrabble. My husband was fishing rain or shine - he caught 2 big bass off the pier! They were deeelish. We also did a few day trips to Ripon, the town of Green Lake, and Princeton. A good time was had by all.
My wife and I were looking for a place to spend a quiet week and do some water skiing and kneeboarding with the kids. We found this property and it was every bit as good as it appeared online. Ruth was very easy to work with--the hardest part was waiting for the trip.
The house is huge and has a wonderful view overlooking the lake. The dock is great to hang out on, suntan and swim from. In the morning and evening the kids loved to catch perch and smallmouth bass off the dock. The lakefront access is amazing. The added bonus is a lift for those who want to rent a ski boat during their stay. The people and Action Marina were beyond nice and got us set up with everything we needed for a week on the water.
The weather was perfect during our stay and the views from the dock of the sunset are amazing. I would come back in heartbeat. It was one of the most relaxing trips I've taken in years. This is a great house and property with amazing lakefront access.
I organized a family reunion of grown-ups and teenagers for the last week of June. Blackbird Manor turned out to be an ideal spot. The size of our group fluctuated as people came and went, but we were at 13 for much of the week. The space was large and flexible enough to handle our various configurations. Having our own dock and lakefront lawn was marvelous. It's a great spot for kayaking, paddle boarding, water skiing, etc. One of the kids caught a couple of tasty perch right off the dock. We also enjoyed getting into Ripon and the town of Green Lake a couple of times. The neighborhood around the lake was nice for jogging. The kitchen was spacious and fully functional for a large group. A couple of quibbles: some of the utensils and cookware could be upgraded, and the outdoor gas grill worked okay but had a couple of uneven spots. One bonus I didn't think we'd use, given that it was midsummer, was the outdoor fire pit. We ended up having fires there 3 or 4 nights, great for marshmallow roasting and story telling. All in all, the house provided a very comfortable locale for us to get together, and there's a good chance we'll book the place again next year or the one after.
Ruth & Fred,
Thank you so much for letting us stay at your beautiful home on Green Lake. Our family has a wonderful time enjoying the water and the sunset views. The home was perfect for us and the weather couldn't have been more perfect. The kids are already planning our return for next year.
You have a very beautiful home and everything worked very well. Several people at the meeting asked how to go about renting a home like yours. So I clued them into the VRBO site. Hopefully you will benefit as they were talking about your house for there families vacation plans.
PS. The pizza from your restaurant was awesome. I think the barbecue chicken pizza was the best I have ever tasted. Thanks again for working with us, we really appreciate your cooperation.
We had a wonderful time and have beautiful pictures of sunrise and sunsets. WOW. We found the home to be very comfortable as well as the beds. We all slept well. Nice set up.
Thank you so much for a wonderful stay at your beautiful lake house. This was my first visit to Green Lake and your binder of information and tips on shopping and dining was put to good use. The house was very clean and the furnishings were comfortable and stylish at the same time. I would recommend this house to anyone and would definitely make a return trip.
