Solar-Powered Barn Loft

Bedrooms 1
Property type house
Minimum Stay 2 nights

About the property

1 Bedroom, 1 Bath (Sleeps 2)

Go 'off-the-grid' and be our guest in a barn loft nestled at the top of a mountain pass in the Green Mountains. Lose yourself and relax in the pure beauty and remoteness of our private valley.

Newly renovated one bedroom loft with fully equipped kitchen, stone tile bath, and Vermont Castings gas stove. Sunshine pours into this beautifully crafted rustic home. Soak up the sun on your private stone patio or float dreamily on the swimming pond.

Located at the end of a dirt road, on scenic farmland. Enjoy uninterrupted expansive views. This home is both remote and connected -- it's way out in the middle of the woods, but just over four miles from Rochester, a village with fine dining, cafes, tennis courts, and art galleries.

If you'd like, we'd be happy to help you venture off the beaten path. Ask us about secluded swimming holes, agri-tourism, berry picking, open artists' studios.

Hikers and mountain bikers enjoy direct access to an extensive network of trails. Or take a short walk from the door to nearby lookouts, moose paths and beaver ponds.

Enjoy several spots in the nearby rivers for swimming, cliff diving, tubing, or fly-fishing. We are 20 minutes from Silver Lake, a perfect spot for swimming, kayaking, canoeing, and fishing. 30 minutes from Killington, Sugarbush, and the Green Mountain National Golf Course.

Amazing retreat

Highly rated. Could not be happier with my stay at the Solar-Powered Barn Loft. Peaceful and tranquil, the perfect get away from it all. Wish I booked for more days. I'll be back.

Very nice accommodations. First time staying off grid and was interesting taking shower and having lights go off in the bathroom. Location was beautiful.

Great weekend at this lovely property

  • 5 of 5

We wanted a weekend getaway to celebrate an anniversary, and this was the perfect spot. We loved that it was "off the grid", so we could really unplug and enjoy one another. Our dog Max loved it too, and the owners were very gracious in sharing the pond and grounds with him.

It's a terrific place, we hope to return again sometime! Quiet, secluded lovely!

Wonderful and Relaxing

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I were looking for a comfortable, quiet, private and pet-friendly rental and this place exceeded our expectations. Close to 2 small towns and amazing hiking, the home was an amazing place to relax after a day of adventure. The property is beautiful and our nightly campfires were the ultimate end-of-the-day activity. Leave your cell at home and rest with a book or conversation. The owners were immediately accessible if we had questions. We will likely return in the fall for some hikes and adventure. Awesome!!!!!

A Perfect Place to Get Away From It All

  • 5 of 5

I stayed at this beautiful barn loft for four nights with my dog and by the end I felt so refreshed! I did not want to go back to the hustle and bustle of Boston. At all.

The property is gorgeous and so well maintained. The interior is incredibly cozy and it was SO nice to see that there was no internet or TV. If you need time to recharge your batteries and want to get away from the world for a bit, this is the perfect place. It is also conveniently located, just down the road from Rochester, where you can find some great food and interesting people. I was able to get around with ease, popping up to Montpelier and over to Middlebury - I couldn't have been in a better location.

Everything about this place is perfect and I cannot wait to come again :)
