Myself, my husband & another couple stayed for a week. We appreciated the suites so both couples could enjoy ample space and some privacy. When we arrived, the kitchen faucet was broke. Tavo was working on it; it was repaired by Sunday. Other than that, the property was great and in proper working order. Tavo and Claudia checked in on us almost daily. They were very nice and welcoming.
We appreciated the beach towels, beach chairs and umbrella provided. We would typically sit on the beach until 2 and then hit the pool. The beach is very nice and swimmable.
We felt safe at the property and in Puerto Vallarta. We spent most of our time in the Romantic Zone and took taxis. We made friends with a couple of taxi drivers. They gave us their cards and we were able to call them directly when we needed a ride.
Claudia cooked for us one night. She prepared shrimp fajitas, rice, salsa, beans and flan. It was all very delicious!! We planned it on a night we had a daytime excursion; it was nice to come home and have dinner ready.
The only excursion we took was to Boca de Tomatlan to catch a water taxi. Tavo set it up for us. The water taxi took us to a place to hike (or you can rent a horse) to a waterfall. There is a restaurant at the waterfall. After touring the coastline and seeing fish and lots of jellyfish, we visited another beach and ate. Beware of raicilla, a moonshine-like alcohol. It tastes good and can sneak up on you!
We ate dinner at La Palapa, Vista Grill (make a reservation for a table at sunset; I thought it was the best food), Mariscos Cuetos Seafood (ate here twice because it was so good), Hacienda San Angel (the food was good, but pricey; make a reservation; great view), and La Piazzetta. Our favorite breakfast spot was Cafe de Olla. We ate at The Pancake House; it was good. We visited Andales a couple of nights for drinks after dinner and that was a lot of fun. It seems like an American bar in Mexico. Tavo and the taxi drivers were helpful in picking a place to eat and the property owner (Mary) emailed me a list of places ahead of time.
Mary was very helpful and responsive to my questions prior to the trip. She also called to check on us after we arrived. I highly recommend this property. Although it is a bit out of town, which we liked, it is very peaceful and relaxing. It is easy to catch a taxi to go into town if you want more action. Thank you Mary, Tavo & Claudia for helping us have a wonderful vacation!
Our family of seven had an absolutely perfect vacation at Casa Flores!
As soon as we walked through the door and saw the stunning villa and the magnificent view over Banderas Bay, we knew we were going to have a fabulous time - and we did! The villa is spacious, well-maintained, and beautifully decorated. It is so well laid out that we could either be a congenial group or enjoy some solitude.
Tavo and Claudia were charming and kind. Dining in-house was as fine as any restaurant in Puerto Vallarta. They cooked incredible garlic shrimp, guacamole, ceviche, and flan.
We enjoyed our outings in and around Puerto Vallarta, but we all looked forward to returning to our villa with its peaceful ambiance and dramatic ocean views.
I would recommend this beautiful villa to anyone visiting Puerto Vallarta. And I would recommend Puerto Vallarta to anyone wishing for a pleasant, safe, fun-filled holiday.
The location cannot be better! Steps from the beach, beautiful December weather (we spent 10 days during Christmas and New Year's), perfect for kids as well as adults, very comfortable and well appointed condo. Everything was as described by the owner. However, the real charm and the unexpected but extremely pleasant part of the vacation was the incredible hospitality of Tavo, Claudia and family! Tavo went out of his way to make us feel welcome and Claudia's Ceviche and Garlic Shrimp and....we can go on but Claudia's cooking was fantastic. It is impossible to write and express the wonderful time we had. Maybe it is better to keep this vacation property a secret to ourselves so we can return and have no problems booking this vacation spot for ourselves!
Stunning property, exceptional surroundings and beautiful building. Getting to and from town by the bus was fast, SAFE, inexpensive and easy. Vallarta is charming and people are friendly and helpful. City Center is small enough if you get lost wandering around, you're not lost for long. Most everyone speaks some English too. Everything around the area is safe, safe, SAFE! We took the bus further south to catch a water taxi to remote beaches not accessible by roads. Next day we took the bus even further south to explore an amazing, local botanical garden, native tequila factory, and finally, the rustic, old, Mexican village of El Tulito (El Tulito is Authentic Old Mexico. Tourists are few. Many friendly people.)
Relax is the word which best describes this property. Only complaint was you need earplugs if you're a light sleeper. The ocean waves are right outside your window.
We can't wait for a chance to go back.
Casa Flores is the ultimate of homes - not like a rental. 5 stars all around. Favorites - the inhome chef and amenities; private pool/hot tub; on site massage. The three ensuite bedrooms are private. The location is on a private beach, but close proximity to town. Owner's suggestions for restaurants and activities were taken and highly recommended. Seeing these photos makes me happy and sad because I wish I was there again. The most relaxing vacation and most romantic accommodation ever.
We rented this place and as someone who has a rental and rents homes often I was very impressed. The very friendly and helpful owner is either a designer or used a designer as things are not just beautiful but very well thought out- attention to details is wonderful. I don't want to repeat all the below accolades but they still hold true.
The only draw back is if you like to be able to walk out your door and walk everywhere. This is not in town- which is a positive and negative. Cabs are 80 Pesos (around 7-8 dollars) fast and plentiful. The bus is GREAT and super easy and is 7 pesos- less than a buck (about a 10 minute ride). We did find ourselves spending much of our time in the "Romantic Zone".
