Loved the house and the Charlotte community. Close enough to Shelburne and Burlington.
We had a wonderful stay at the house. Everything was there that we needed. Sun wasn’t overly cooperative for sunsets but the view is great anyhow!!
Beautiful scenery, lovely house.
We recently rented from Lucas for a multigenerational vacation. The location was very convenient and picturesque. His home was perfect with plenty of space for four adults and a toddler. Lucas was very helpful and friendly and we would definitely rent from him again.
We feel so lucky to have found such a beautiful home to spend our vacation in. Beautifully decorated, clean and comfortable with gorgeous views of the mountains and lake. The little Brick Store is a great morning coffee/pastry spot and so nice that you can walk there from the house. We look forward to spending a few days here every year.Thank you Lucas for opening your home to us!
100% Pure Vermont’s finest
Great spaces from the kitchen to the bedrooms and bathrooms. The location in the village and views of the countryside were wonderful.
Wonderful Vacation Week!
We spent a week at this lovely home in Charlotte and enjoyed everything about it. The location is perfect for exploring Vermont and beyond. We took day trips to the Mad River Valley, Montreal, Middlebury and Burlington. We loved taking the ferry (just a few miles from the house) across Lake Champlain to NY for a day of hiking and exploring in the Adirondacks.
The house itself was perfect for our family with two grown children and friends. The kitchen is modern and well appointed and has everything we needed to cook meals. The bathrooms are spacious and the bedrooms comfortable. Our favorite thing about the house is the charming mix of old and new. The art, books and furnishings are fun and eclectic and made the house feel warm and homey. The views of Lake Champlain and the Adirondacks are spectacular. The changing color of the mountains and the sky at sunrise and sunset are a special treat each day, and at night, the lights twinkling across the lake are an added bonus!
Lucas provided clear instructions on everything that was needed, and promptly responded to emails. We hope to return soon, and I highly recommend this Charlotte home for a wonderful vacation!
Charming with breathtaking views
We stayed over a long weekend in October and found the house lovely, warm and inviting. There is a market on the corner of the street and an easy quick trip to Burlington. I’d stay again in a heartbeat.
Boating, fishing, jet skiing, kayaking on Lake Champlain are all just minutes down Ferry Road. Take the Charlotte/ Essex Ferry across the lake to NY and you are within 1 hour of the Adirondack high peaks and the heart of Lake Placid. A 25 minutes drive north of Charlotte will put you in the hip town of Burlington where you will find plenty of dining, shopping, theater, street musicians and artists, lakeside festivals throughout the summer and more! The Shelburne Museum, Farm and Farmer's Market are all just 10 minutes away. Cycle on some of the most beautiful roads Vermont has to offer right from the house. Try to climb Mt. Philo if you dare! Nature/bird-watching trails are just minutes down the road. Drive 15 minutes south and visit the up and coming town of Vergennes, where you will find fine dining and live theater; and don't forget to stop at the world renowned Dakin Farms on Route 7 along the way!
