We stayed here for a friends wedding with 2 other couples and newborn. It was perfect. Clean, comfortable, roomy. The pictures don't do it justice - it's beautiful inside and out. Highly recommend for a Point Reyes getaway. Very close to Point Reyes Station as well. Thank you Helen!
This is a wonderful vacation rental in Pt. Reyes Station -- we thoroughly enjoyed our three days here. The house is lovely -- large, comfortable rooms, a beautiful big yard, and a hot tub. We've rented a number of homes around this area, and this is by far the most comfortable and relaxing. Our 12- and 13-year-olds enjoyed the bunk beds in the "kids" room, and the big outdoor deck. We enjoyed the comfy chairs for reading in the living room, the big table in the kitchen for games, and the ready-for-cooking kitchen. All of us loved the proximity to great hiking, to one of the best independent book stores in the Bay Area, and to Cowgirl Creamery.
Our family of six spent 3 nights at this beautiful and cozy retreat just outside of Point Reyes Station. Everything is well kept and maintained. The highlight for us is the large backyard deck which is tranquil and private - perfect to read a good book or enjoy your morning coffee. The house is large enough that everyone is able to have their own personal space. Helen is very accommodating and the instructions on how things work are easy to follow. We would certainly recommend this place to our friends and family.
If you're looking for a great location, beautiful and peaceful environment, and a comfortable and pretty home, this is definitely your destination. There's a large deck where you can hang with a hot tub below and a fully loaded kitchen if you want to cook--I would personally head to Osteria Stellina and Station House Cafe. Loved the original art by Helen, the owner, nicely sized bedrooms, and cozy living room area. My girlfriends and I would definitely rent this sweet place again.
We had a wonderful 3 days and thoroughly enjoyed the home. It was roomy and very comfortable. Bedrooms are on the opposite side of the house as the kitchen, so very quiet. We used the woodstove and hot tub. We were able to walk to town and enjoy the great restaurants, and the National Seashore was a short drive away. Our only issue was the furnace was not working, but with fast communication with the owner, it was easily resolved.
We stayed 10 great days here! This home is everything as described. Point Reyes is one of our favorite places to vacation & the Cedar Home made it even more enjoyable. Just outside of town it is a short walk and/or bike ride away. I brought my folding bike along and each morning took a bike ride into town. Along the way & just around the corner is a farm stand with fresh produce picked daily & just up the road a bit further you can purchase fresh eggs! We just loved it here and the owner Helen is very accommodating! Would I suggest the Cedar House to a friend... YES!
