Not exactly waterfront
Treacherous walk to dock area. Where we found kayaks, and a tiny canoe, that leaked. Lake was all weeds fishing was no good. TV was terrible at best, glad we had our fire stick. Great little place though. More like a secluded cabin in the woods than any sort of lake cabin. Renting agent would NOT speak by phone to us, very unprofessional I feel, but as far as cleanliness and everything u need, this place has it. We will not revisit
1. The directions to the Wren's Nest we received were vastly incorrect. Directions stated that North Jebavy Rd. was 1 block from the intersection of Rts. 31/10. In actuality the distance was 1.5 miles. The rest of the directions were confusing at best.
2. Upon arrival: The exterior spaces of the cabin were disappointing. The grounds were unusable for any activities contrary to the pictures in the listing. There was no obvious water access to Lake Hamlin, as in the pictures, we saw no row boat or paddle boat access to the water.
3. When entering the cabin we noted a general lack of cleanliness. We immediately checked for bedbugs (as we do whenever we travel) and though we found none, we noted the sheets were dirty with obvious soil and hair. There were dust bunnies on the windowsills and the window coverings were thick with dust and dirt. The traffic areas of the carpets were the only vacuumed spaces. The kitchen sink was dirty as were the dishcloths, the towels/linens were old, rough and haphazardly stuffed into drawers. One blanket seemed to have a fecal stain which we immediately washed. The glasses in the cabinets were also dirty, not usable. The entire Livingroom space was dusty. There was a 3/4 roll of toilet paper and 4 paper towels, and no extras.
4. We paid a one hundred d o llar cleaning fee, however, In addition to the cottage being dirty upon arrival, we were directed to start the laundry, gather all dirty linens, ensure the dishes were done and take the trash to the garage.
5 A sign in the kitchen warned us not to turn on more than one appliance at a time or it would overload and pop the breaker switch, forcing us to go under the front porch outside to reset the breaker.
Overall, this stay was a huge disappointment and we feel a waste of money. It was poorly represented in every way on the website. We felt compelled to take many pictures because of the condition of this cabin.

Exceeded our expectations
It was a perfect, comfortable, adorable cottage. Beautiful location! We will be back!
Relaxing week in the woods
This is the second time we have stayed at "Wren's Nest".
We thoroughly enjoyed our week there. The setting is so private and quiet and was just what we were looking for.
We enjoyed sitting on the large covered porch and enjoyed the sunrise each day.
Everything we needed was provided. We will stay again.
Very nice location and nice clean cabin. We will definitely return
great place to stay!
wonderful place for a vacation! Everything you need is at this property. We loved the complimentary row boat and used it to fish on beautiful Lake Hamlin. Close to Ludington State Park and House of Flavors, our favorite places. We will be back!
