The wide variety of luscious palms surrounding this custom built home is just one of the things that makes Ocean Palms so special. The villa is set in over an acre of private land, with its own 2 person kayak exclusively for guest use, unique murals and mosaics by local artisans and boasts up to the minute furnishings and décor.
The step entry into the pool is shaded which is ideal for children or adults who need a break from the sun. The main house has 3 bedrooms: 1 king with doors opening out to the pool and Caribbean Sea, 1 queen and 1 set of twin beds. The recently completed master suite with Jacuzzi tub is located just steps away from the main house and has its own gazebo with swing so you can sip a cocktail, watch the sun go down and be lulled by the gentle sounds of the ocean.
A dock with stairs down to the water affords instant access to the Caribbean Sea with its firm, sandy bottom. Keep an eye out for schools of dolphins. Snorkel to the sunken Haitian wreck close by and enjoy the variety of sea life in these tropical turquoise waters.
Ocean Palms is a versatile home away from home, which is perfectly suited to either couples or families. You probably won’t want to leave this villa once you arrive but you will probably have to eat! Luckily, you are barely 10 minutes away from Grace Bay, a good supermarket, and a wide selection of restaurants and bars.
Our family of 8 plus a 9 month old, stayed here for 1 glorious week. Pictures are exactly as we found the property. Lots of room inside and even more around the pool. Everyone could gather poolside comfortably, whether you wanted sun or shade. Hammock got good use, however the porch swing no longer exists. The area is secluded with almost no boats or people. Pure relaxation. We did run the air at night in the bedrooms to help with high humidity,. The extra charge at the end of the week was $70. The main house remained cool without airconditioners running. We cooked breakfasts and a couple dinners, and the kitchen is well equipped for large meal prep. Also multiple tables to surround for meals, inside and out. The detached bedroom suite was perfect for the couple with the 9 month old. (Bring your baby monitor) because it was quiet and away from noise in the house or around the pool. You will need to rent a car, or in our case, a van. They drive on the left and our van actually had the driver seated on the right. The road to the house is very rough, and requires a slower pace, but you soon adjust to just taking it easy. Graceway market is an easy drive for supplies. It's more expensive than the states, but well stocked with everything you need. One draw back I think is that the water in the house is not drinkable, so you must buy gallons and gallons of water for everything from making coffee & ice tea to making baby bottles. I think the owners would/could help this situation by buying a water dispenser and large water bottles. We had a dozen gallon jugs, full and empty laying around most of the time. The owner has beach chairs, umbrellas and a few other beach items for guests use, which was nice. We did have to buy a small cooler for the beach days. TV provided all the channels we are used to, but picture quality not so hot. We only watched tv to see a couple NCAA games. We did go to the Thursday night festival at the national park. Lots of food, vendors and music. Worth the trip. This was our 3rd trip to Turks and Caicos and 3rd house we've rented. We love being away from the big resorts and tons of people. This is cheaper in the long run and so much more enjoyable. This house and its location made it a winner for our family. Activities are easy to arrange if you want to do them, but the house is a great way to spread out, relax, cook and enjoy the peaceful view outside every door and window. The pictures don't lie. This is a beautiful property!!!!
We just got back from a week at Ocean Palms and cannot wait to go back. We brought our 2-year-old and were traveling with another family with a young child. The pool was absolutely perfect with its shaded, shallow section. Indeed the outdoor lounging, eating and playing areas were so fantastic we hardly spent any time inside. We frequented the beach just down the street where we often were the only ones there, wading far out into the shallow water and uncovering conch shells in the sand. We found plenty of family-friendly restaurants within an easy drive and completely fell in love with Turks & Caicos. The management for Ocean Palms was top notch - we arrived to find fresh fruit & flowers on the table and water & beer in the refrigerator. A mid-week house and pool cleaning were also beyond what we were expecting. We hope you and your family enjoy your stay at this incredible location as much as we did!
We enjoyed our time at Ocean Palms. The house, the pool and the view were difficult to leave. The villa is in a quiet, secluded area, yet only 5-10 minutes from the local IGA grocery story and Grace Bay and Turtle Cove. The villa is not on a beach, however the cliffs are fun to jump from, and there's a small secluded beach a 1/4 mile away. If you like to snorkel and want to see fish, Smith's reef near Turtle Cove is a great spot. The only negative were the feral cats around the villa. The 7 kittens constantly around when we were there were fun the first day...
This villa was absolutely perfect for our family! The huge shaded outdoor space was wonderful for socializing, dining and taking in the glorious view! The fact that part of the pool is shaded under the roof made it perfect for our one year old grandson to play in -- and grandma too! Still lots of space for that glorious sun with plenty of lounge chairs, hammock, kayak, and easy access to the ocean. The deserted beach 1/4 mile away is also a great feature. The easy access to the Grace Bay area and the IGA grocery store was a lifesaver for us! This villa is paradise and equipped beautifully! We will be back!!
Having just returned from a wonderful stay at the Ocean Palms, it is hard to resist a laundry list of superlatives. All our expectations were met, most directly by the unparalleled beauty unfolding before you as you sip your coffee (or rum punch) and consider the fact that you are neither shoveling snow nor sitting in traffic. Moreover, Peter and Sally were more than willing to give our group of 4 couples all the direction we needed. The Villa itself is charming and full of all you need for a blissful time away. Our only concern is that more positive reviews may make it more difficult to book our next holiday.
This was our 10th anniversary trip and this place is breath taking!! The pictures do not do it justice. This place is heaven on earth. We have traveled all over the carribean and this place is in another league. Peter who is the manager picks you up at airport and was like having a great neighbor. He was always available if you needed anything and was so friendly. Please look no further than this place!
