Walk in to our cedar trimmed cabin and immediately smell the aromatic pleasure of the northwoods.
Leave the bags at the front door, grab your suit and plunge into the warm depths of Castle Rock Lake just steps away. After a refreshing dip, stick a few logs in the outdoor sauna, have a beverage and melt away in the sauna.
The kids will climb the steps to their personal hideaway and dream of castles and kings in the treehouse. Put the steaks on the grill and enjoy the panoramic sunset from the cobblestone patio. After dinner, nestle in around the campfire, tell ghost stories to your guests, roast marahmallows and enjoy the sun as it gently falls from into the lake.
As you saunter off to sleep in the king size bed, listen to the symphony of the northwoods.

I am Marshall, WI resident and have been vacationing at Castle Rock for over 40 years. Please make my family's home your vacation destiny and enjoy it.
Gerald Canon purchased this cottage in 2004
We have vacationed at Castle Rock for over 40 years. My family summer, family vacations was enjoying the various campgrounds surrounding Castle Rock. The many days spent swimming, boating, biking, fishing and hiking are memories cherished by me. As I married and had children of my own, I wanted them to experience similar experience. Kids should know the freedoms the outdoors offer.
An adult become a child while vacationing at Castle Rock. The simple enjoyment of sitting around a crackling, outdoor fire or swimming brings out the peacefulness that we all should feel. Our home is situated on the east side of Castle Rock. The sunsets are panoramic. Kids and adults alike enjoy swimming into the warm and sand bottomed waters of Castle Rock Lake. We have a competitive foosball table for evening or rainy day enjoyment. The smell of the cedar walls and northwoods decor make you feel like Jeremiah Johnson. It is quite often that you will see deer grazing from the living room. Send the kids out back to enjoy the 10' high treehouse while you cook the steaks on our cobblestone patio. After the go to rest in the loft, enjoy a quick sauna in our wood burning sauna.
We arrived an was very pleased to discover the outdoor sauna. It is a classic. Wood burning---felt really authentic. Bedrooms were spacious. Cedar Cedar walls and decor make it feel like a true cabin. Thanks to the hot Memorial day weekend, the kids enjoyed the sand bottom area in front of the cabin. Lots of good memories. We would recommend.
This is the fifth summer I've been back and my friends and I always have a great time. Plenty of space and has everything you need for a weekend getaway. Clean and neat. Full kitchen w/ a grill and fire pit outside. There's a boat landing area not far from the house and plenty of places to visit once you're on the water.
I loved the view. Great fire ring and relaxing seeing sunset over water. Our dog ran free in the fenced in backyard. We had pizza at Dellwood-pretty good. Quiet and relaxing. The wood sauna was incredible-especially on the colder night. We plan on returning-a great value.
We stayed for several days with 12 people very comfortably. There is plenty of room for a large group. We had everything we needed. There are beds for 10 plus we had a couple of air mattresses. Everything was clean and neat. One bathroom was never a problem. We always had hot water for showers. The fire pit in the front of the house is a great meeting place for the group both in the morning with our coffee and in the evening to discuss the day. It's only about a 25 minute drive into the Dells. We had a great time.
We stayed at Paradise at Castle Rock July 18th-25th. I guess I did not ask enough questions and we were a bit disappointed that there was not swimming or fishing access across from the cabin down by the lake. There are docks but they are owned by the neighbors and you cannot walk on them. From the pictures and from the road you cannot see that the bank slopes down and there are just rocks and weeds in that particular area of the lake. Our grown children that came up for the weekend thought they were going to do some fishing but did not do any fishing. My husband and I stayed the whole week and did not find the fishing spots until the rest of our family had left. My husband and I don't really care about fishing, so we didn't do any anyway. We found Carlson's beach that is right down the street and Carlson's has a very pleasant restaurant across the street from the lake. But if we come back we know the ropes now. The cottage itself is very nice and comfortable. Our oldest daughter who is a cosmetologist and was born with the artistic, creative gene, said the cottage was nicer in person that it was in the pictures. There was nine of us adults and my 3 year old grandchild and we had plenty of room to sleep. I found the beds too hard for me but I slept on the love seat in the master bedroom and it was fine for me. As I said, our children and two of their spouses and my grandson only stayed for the weekend so my husband and I were alone Monday night to Friday morning. If you want absolute peace and quiet this is the place for you. All you hear is the birds and the wind in the pines. I am embarrassed to say it kind of made me nervous.During the day I was fine but at night I had a hard time sleeping with no one around but myself and my husband. The neighbours that have a home on the south side of the cabin came back late Thursday night and I actually slept better knowing someone else was on the street but us. My husband said I think there are bad guys on every street corner! But the cabin is very nicely decorated, comfortable, modern, and has just about everything you need. It was like a home away from home. My husband and I went on some day trips and it was nice to come back "home" to rest and cook out on the grill. We we went to Mauston and got some steaks and grilled them out and cooked some potatoes on the stove. It was fun! The water pressure was great in the shower and the water was nice and warm. We would go back. Bring your bicycles.
This cabin was nice to stay in, but the owner eludes to lake access in front of the cabin. All of the docks have surveillance and no trespassing signs. So we had to drive to this dinky beach filled with sticks and broken glass and the water was not worth swimming in. We weren't allowed to use the trampoline in the back yard and the washer/dryer was broken. It says it sleeps 12, but the beds were so uncomfortable that we had some sleep in a tent on a blow up mattress. I would not come back here.
I feel like I'm reading reviews about a completely different cabin. We were told someone had been there to clean, but there was evidence everywhere to suggest otherwise. We filled up the vaccume canister with dog hair and dirt, we wiped down the counters, and found evidence of moisture issues within an hour of being there. We ended up going home a day early because of the conditions. The owner did give us our money for the night we left back, but we were extremely disappointed as this is a trip we look forward to every year. We have stayed at many VRBOs in the Castle Rock Lake area in the past and never had an issue.
While it appears as though you can walk down to the lake you can see from the front yard, you aren't allowed because it's a private beach/boat dock.
The positives... the front yard with the firepit and the view of the lake from there are very nice.
