|Minimum Stay||3 nights|
The Buck Rack Chalet is nestled in the Hiawatha National Forest with 100 ft. of waterfront property on Sixteen Mile Lake. This three bedroom chalet is the perfect destination for a family or group of friends to gather for relaxation and fun.
In the summer months, enjoy fishing, kayaking, canoeing, and swimming in the lake. Take a short 15 minute trip to the Pictured Rocks, a glass bottom shipwreck tour on Lake Superior, the beaches of Lake Superior, or bike around Grand Island.
During the winter, there is no better place to stay to enjoy the hundreds of miles of groomed snowmobile trails the area has to offer. Our cabin sits right in the center of the lake effect snowbelt in the Upper Pennisula.
Munising is 12 miles from the chalet where you will find a large grocery store, restaurants, gas stations, gift shops, churches, and bars. There is also a really nice Visitor's Center there with lots of information about the area. Make your reservation today!
This property was built in 2004.

This is a very clean, comfortable, higher end rental. The views from The Buck Rack are absolutely gorgeous. Whether you are a family of eight on vacation, a couple on their honeymoon, friends gathered to enjoy outdoor adventures, or anyone looking to enjoy the peace of the UP, you have found the perfect place.
Nice! Would go back anytime. The view is perfect, quite,
Peaceful is the word I would use to describe this place. If you want to sit back and relax it is fine. If you fish I would caution that we caught none. Also, there is no boat ramp on the lake. The lake is not a good one for waterskiing, tubing, etc. The house needed some maintainence. Leaky shower, broken handle in bathroom sink, and ants that we couldn't get rid of. Furniture had seen it's better days. But if you are looking for relaxation it is very pretty and peaceful. The hosts could leave a bit more information at the house for renters, but they were good to communicate with and answer questions when called. If I wanted peace and quiet I would go back. If I wanted to waterski or fish I would not.
Very clean, well-supplied and maintained chalet. Plenty of nearby attractions to visit.
My husband, two daughters ages 9 and 2, and I really enjoyed our stay here. The chalet was clean and comfortable. We appreciated all the kitchen amenities as we had many of our meals there rather than going out. The view of the lake was beautiful and we took advantage of the canoe for several trips around the lake. We slept well each night after enjoying various adventures around the areas of Munising and Grand Marais throughout the day. The owners a great to work with. We would definitely stay here again on future trips to the UP.
This was our 2nd time visiting this home and it was just as awesome as the first time. Perfect house for myself, my husband, and our 2 girls. We enjoyed canoeing on the lake and just enjoying the comfort of the home. Also just 10 minute ride to munising and tons of sightseeing, beaches, and waterfalls all within a short distance. The house is set up perfect and had everything you would need. Can't wait to do it again!
