Overview

About the property

3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, sleeps 8

The Buck Rack Chalet is nestled in the Hiawatha National Forest with 100 ft. of waterfront property on Sixteen Mile Lake. This three bedroom chalet is the perfect destination for a family or group of friends to gather for relaxation and fun.

In the summer months, enjoy fishing, kayaking, canoeing, and swimming in the lake. Take a short 15 minute trip to the Pictured Rocks, a glass bottom shipwreck tour on Lake Superior, the beaches of Lake Superior, or bike around Grand Island.

During the winter, there is no better place to stay to enjoy the hundreds of miles of groomed snowmobile trails the area has to offer. Our cabin sits right in the center of the lake effect snowbelt in the Upper Pennisula.

Munising is 12 miles from the chalet where you will find a large grocery store, restaurants, gas stations, gift shops, churches, and bars. There is also a really nice Visitor's Center there with lots of information about the area. Make your reservation today!

Our family had a wonderful Labor Day long weekend at Buck Rack Chalet!

  • 5 of 5

Every thing about it was nice! The owner did every thing needed/possible to make our stay enjoyable, the chalet is very nice, we enjoyed the seclusion of the location, 16 Mile Lake is very nice and the fishing was good enough to make it interesting, the weather was typical Michigan, and the scenery and attractions of the Munising area are great. We had a great time. Highly recommend it!

Very nice

  • 5 of 5

We had a great trip and enjoyed our stay at The Buck Chalet. It was just us and our 2 children, but the house could have easily accommodated 3-4 more people. I especially appreciate the bathrooms being super clean!! The house was neat and tidy. They had extra linens and towels available. They also had all the basics, salt/pepper, coffee filters, toilet paper, etc.

My husband and I had a wonderful time kayaking the very calm lake, which was beautiful! We were able to rent kayaks from the neighbor, very convenient.

The home is centrally located to many UP attractions, just 20 minutes from the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore.

We love the UP and wished we could have stayed another week!!

Nice relaxing environment

Nice area and a nice house for our two families (4 kids and 4 adults). Caught a few bull heads while fishing and went on a canoe ride. Good centralized location to visit various waterfalls and other tourist activities. Thanks.
