A private tree lined driveway leads to the house which is located on a beautiful 2/3 acre private park-like waterfront property. Within easy reach of downtown Seattle, we're also close to world-class golf courses, an eclectic collection of communities and endless recreational, cultural and scenic discoveries.

Step back in time with this elegant 1937 brick manor with original features of mahogany trim, leaded glass windows and doors, and hardwood floors throughout. The entertainment size great room is warmed by exquisite marbled plaster and hand painted coffer ceilings. Large picture windows frame the beautiful views of mature gardens and the shoreline of beautiful Oyster Bay.

Our location is excellent! ... we're just 17 miles West of downtown Seattle. One can take the local commuter ferry, (drive, or walk on) it runs typically on the hour from 4:30 am thru Midnight and brings you to the heart of downtown Seattle in about 50 minutes.

*Update: New Fast Ferry Service to heart of downtown Seattle (Pike Place Market area) in about 25 minutes - starts July 2017!! *

The ferry is just an option, one can also drive directly to Seattle, and SeaTac International airport via Hwy I-5 in just under an hour.

What makes this house unique

We're a unique waterfront property with our own (about 70 ft.) private beach that's use is exclusive for our guests. We have a couple of sit on top single Kayaks on hand that are free for our guests to use during their stay. In addition, we have life jackets and paddles.The beach access is from the property, and the bay is quite calm, so it's possible to Kayak year round.

Drive directly, or take the local commuter ferry to DT Seattle.

The commuter ferry is considered a 'not to be missed' Seattle experience.

Incredible View!!!!!

I can't express how truly beautiful the setting was at Oyster Bay Manor. The home was incredible and the grounds and views were breathtaking. It's everything and more that the website portrays it to be. The owners met us at the house upon our arrival and gave us the complete tour of the home and the grounds. They were wonderful by the way, very kind and helpful. The house was immaculate and we were afforded every accommodation. I would recommend this home to everyone. Whether there's only two of you or an entire family, everyone will enjoy this house.

Quaint home with character

We brought our 5 children (ages 9-16) to this VRBO and had a wonderful time. Rod was terrific to work with. He was quick in answering any questions we might have. Tammy (his housekeeper) was kind and gave us a full tour of the home and property. She was very knowledgeable and helpful in getting us acquainted with the home. Our kids loved the property. We managed to have a great time on the kayaks despite the cold and rainy weather (watch out for jellyfish). The house was clean, cozy and organized. I would not recommend the kitchen/dining area for a big group like ours (but we knew it would be small and didn't mind). I can see how it wouldn't be a problem in the summer because of the deck that is off from the kitchen. The view coupled with the older character of the home made for a unique and enjoyable stay. We would definitely rent again. Thank you Rod and Tammy!

While the kitchen table does seat 6 guests, at 7 plus guests it does start to get a little cozy but, thank you for mentioning the large deck just off from the kitchen where we have a full-size outdoor dining table that can accommodate up to 8 guests. Great Family Vacation Home!!

We had a wonderful time at Oyster Bay Manor! It was comfortable, private, and pristine. The view of the bay was amazing. Our kids really enjoyed the grounds, and even went Kayaking!

We really liked that upon our arrival Tammy was there to meet us at the house, and show us around. Hope to be back soon!

The Perfect Seattle Area Family Getaway Home!

The views at this home were incredible! I can not express how wonderful this rental is......but if I must, I would say it is perfection. Clean and comfortable, crisp linens, perfect for our family of 5. It lived up to all our expectations, and even more!

Quaint, needs some renovation, but great views and on the bay

This 1937 home has beautiful hardwood floors and a great location on the bay. The kitchen had everything we needed, but was very tight for four adults; and the little kitchen table was almost too small for us. Luckily, we only used it for breakfasts. There are three bedrooms (2 Queens and 2 twins) and one full bathroom in the upstairs hallway for everyone to share. I should have paid closer attention to the bathroom arrangements, as the second shower is in the basement. I would have preferred to have an en suite master bedroom/bathroom arrangement. There is also another toilet on the main level. My husband and adult son are both over 6 feet and could not walk upright through the upstairs hallway to and from the bathroom, because of the slanted design in the low ceilings.

We visited during a cold snap (with snow!) so the heating system was constantly working. The radiators were loud and hissed, which occasionally woke us up at night. The house cleaner also asked us to drain the dirty/rusty water from the basement radiator system every other day and refill it, which I thought was odd. Something happened to the plumbing while we were there too, and water gushed from a basement wall and under the baseboards while someone was taking a shower. It was probably a burst pipe, due to the cold weather. The owner was out of town while we there, but luckily his house cleaner was able to contact him and let us make alternate hotel arrangements for the remainder of our stay. I imagine this home would be much nicer during the summer months. There was a kayak in the basement for guests, and a great deck overlooking the bay. It was just too cold outside for us to take advantage of them while we were there.

Owner's Response: I'm sorry again about the issue with the plumbing. You did receive an explanation as to cause of the problem which was a backup from outside of the house due to the cold weather, that caused just a small amount of water to come into the basement bathroom only, and not a burst pipe as you now speculate. Just to let you know, that issue was remedied the same day. The plumbing problem was on your last day of your 5 night stay, and as a result you were refunded for your last night, plus an additional refund for the inconvenience. Just to clarify the height of the upstairs ceilings, other then a curved pillar near the entrance of the bathroom upstairs, (as shown in one of the HomeAway/VRBO pictures) the ceilings are 8ft throughout the upper floor and are not 'low' as you mention. Also, speaking of bathrooms, I'm pleased to announce we have a brand new full bath (with a beautiful claw foot tub)being added in April 2017 The house was built in 1937, It's an Incredible property that's well suited to accommodate up to 7 guests and has an overall 'Guest Satisfaction Rating' of 97 % as indicated by the previous 37, 5 Star reviews we've received over the past 9 years. A few of the previous guests have even mentioned in their review that the house is their all time favorite VRBO/HomeAway rental. In addition to the refunds you've already received, I'm pleased to offer you an additional 10 percent discount off of your next stay.

Beautiful Home, goregous view

What a beautiful home with a gorgeous view!!! I had a hard time deciding which was my favorite room, was it the livingroom with the spectacular fireplace and picture window overlooking the bay; or the beautiful eat-in kitchen with the table the was placed just in the perfect spot to sip coffee and look out at wildlife frolicking in the water; or maybe it was the unique octagon shaped entryway, or maybe... you'll have to decide for yourself. Rod was an excellent host. He met us at the house, showed us around and really made us feel welcome. He even sent us a note the next day to welcome us again and suggestions for restaurants in the local area. Can't wait to come back to Bremerton!!

Car: necessary

Our central location is excellent! We're just 17 miles West of downtown Seattle. One can take the local commuter ferry which is just 5 minutes from the house. It's free to walk on from the Kitsap side, (you can also drive on) and leaves typically once an hour from 5am thru midnight. A great way to reach downtown, the ferry with a cafe and WiFi on board, provides a relaxing, and authentic Seattle experience. The panoramic views from the ferry of downtown Seattle as you arrive are definitely not to be missed. You'll arrive in downtown Seattle at pier 52 in about 50 minutes and be within walking distance of most of Seattle's major attractions such as Pike place Market, Safeco Field, Century Link Field, Space Needle, Waterfront Park etc.

The ferry is just an option, you can also drive directly to Seattle via Hwy I-5 in just under an hour.

It typically takes a day or two to see the downtown attractions. Thereafter, there are a number of interesting quaint historic town and attractions within a 15 to 30 minute drive of the house that are definitely worth a visit if you're spending more then a day or two in the Seattle area. They include Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium, Museum of Glass, Maritime Museum etc... Historic towns of Poulsbo, Port Gamble, and Port Townsend. Leavenworth, Whidbey Island, the National Parks of Mount Rainier, and Olympic National Park are also just a day drive away from the house. Vancouver and Victoria, BC Canada are also possible day trips from the house
