You will enjoy sitting on the deck looking at the great view of beautiful Netarts bay, romantic sunsets, Star watching.
There is always wildlife activity.
Take a walk along the bay.
There is a boat rental one block away to get out crabbing. A restaurant on the bay with great fish & chips. Cape Mears light house is only 5 miles, sand lake 15 min. away. Tillamook cheese factory 8 miles. Cape look out state park 3 miles. The list is endless.
We always wanted to be somewhere where there was water and open skies. We were always going to Netarts crabbing and clamming with the kids and friends. One day we were driving around and as we drove down this gravel road as we got to the end the water kept getting bigger and closer. The property was for sale and we finally bought it and later built the home in the year 2000. We have never enjoyed anything more.
The Owner purchased this house in 2000
It is the most beautiful place on earth. It has just about everything you would want to do in about 10 mile radius.
Very quiet and peaceful. The wildlife such as bald eagles, seals, pelicans deer in the yard at times. There is hiking trail, beaches, one block away you can rent boats and go crabbing, clamming and pick up treasures. There are restaurants within walking distance on the bay.
We planned a quick two couple retreat on the bay. The house accommodated both couples ideally with room upstairs and down (you can literally fit three adult couples downstairs). The "natural" views were quite apparent with a lovely enclosed deck, blue herons, deer, and numerous wildlife visible. The house was well equipped with every sort of cookware, decks of cards, a baby gate, and all the necessities.
This property could easily be a five-star for most: As mentioned in other reviews, the only shower is downstairs among the many bedrooms which can be inconvenient. Additionally, it was a busy coastal weekend so the property was not cleaned upon our arrival and we didn't get to check-in until after 4. Our last "issue" was although the house looks well loved, if very pet-friendly, and has award winning views, simple things like working light bulbs and general cleanliness were noticeable.
We wanted a house with a view of the water that was clean and accessible to accomodate my elderly mother, visiting from out of state, and a couple and 2 adult children. The house worked well for us. My mother had a room on the main level, which had lovely views of Netarts Bay from the living/ kitchen area. We had good weather, and were able to sit out on the deck with shade from the parasols and read as we drank in the view. It was quiet, and we could walk along the bayfront road to the boat dock and restaurant about one mile away. We ate at Roseanne's in Oceanside (very good, too) and visited the Air Museum.
The only negatives were that there was only one shower, downstairs, so my mother had only the tub, and the carpet on the stairs was stained, but these are minor quibbles. The house was clean and the beds comfortable.
It would be helpful to receive a map at time of booking, as the house is a challenge to find, but the manager was helpful when stopped by to get directions.
Netarts is a quiet, remote part of Oregon coast, and you do need to drive into town or down the road for supplies. This is nice house for a group, good separation of space. We enjoyed cooking dinners in the spacious kitchen/dining area and well-equipped kitchen. Upstairs master bath has tub only (jetted jacuzzi), one shower downstairs and an extra powder room upstairs. It was OK unless everyone wanted to take showers in the morning. There is OK parking, on unpaved street, no yard. May not be a great place for small children to play outside, though that was not a problem for us. Also, no wifi (if you are looking for that). This is very good value, nice clean house, plenty of space for 6-8 people (with extra single bed in the hallway for a 9th person). I would stay again for sure!
Our group thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this very clean and comfortable home. Everything was perfect and the view is amazing! The only downside was that there is 2.5 baths in the house, but only 1 shower. We still had a wonderful time and I would recommend this vacation rental to anyone, the kitchen/dining/living area is large and open and works great for groups to enjoy.
We spent a wonderful weekend with my children and grandchildren. It was spacious, beautiful and comfortable. One morning was spent crabbing on the bay while the rest of the family watched from the comfort and warmth of the home. We cooked our meals in a well stocked kitchen. The home was sparkling clean and the beds were comfortable. Our family looks forward to returning.
This well kept home has a fabulous view. The bay in particular is fascinating as the terrain changes all day. My out of state guests were thrilled to stay in such a beautiful home with a terrific kitchen. Looking forward to returning.
