This classic Oak Island cottage was refurbished in 2013. It is on the 3rd beach row and has an easy walk to the ocean (3-5 minutes) with boardwalk access. This is a 4 bedroom cottage with a large great room and plenty of seating.
The (upstairs) master bedroom has a king bed, private bathroom.
The 'kid's room' is across the hall and has 2 twin beds. The laundry room is also upstairs.
The main floor has 2 bedrooms, 1 with a queen and 1 with a queen plus a twin. There are 2 bathrooms, the great room, a fully stocked kitchen and small dining area. There is also a bar that seats an additional 3 people.
There is a large deck on the front of the house with plenty of space for enjoying the sunny weather or catching some rays.
Parking is under the house (on pilings/stilts) and there is room for 4 cars. There is also a great hot/cold outside shower that makes it easy to get the salt & sand off after a day on the beach.
There is a fishing pier less than a mile away, mini-golf, arcade, many restaurants, the quaint town of Southport, movie theatre, etc all within an easy drive!! Come enjoy the well kept secret of Oak Island, NC!!

“This is the first time in 20yrs that we have had a complaint against our property mgr and we are very sorry for the inconvenience”.
We were very excited about this house and loved the layout and location. When we arrived Sunday, the power was out to the upstairs bedrooms except for the bathroom, which means no lights, no outlet use, etc. We have called the rental company four times over the last 28 hours with no fix. Additionally, the house is dirty. I am not someone who expects a perfect house, especially at the beach. But there is mold in the bathrooms and along the windows, the house is covered in dust, and there was visable dirt on the floors. Also no access to the wifi. I wish we at least had power.
We checked into the house to find that the bathrooms hadn't been cleaned and dirty dishes were put away into the cabinets. While the bedrooms downstairs were okay, there was old toothpaste on the sink in the bathrooms. The master bed/bath was atrocious. Lots of toothpaste all over the sink and mirror. The toilet had a film of pink mildew around the interior. The shower base was very dirty, even black in some places; sand and hair all over the interior and even a sliver of bar soap left from the last occupants. The comforter was stained and had lipstick marks all over the top edge. The love seat had sand and fur from someone's dog. We went to get dishes out of the cabinets and most were dirty and we had to wash dishes before we could use them. It was after 5 p.m. by the time we found all of this so we waited until Sunday to call Margaret Rudd Realty to report the problems. They were responsive and sent someone out to clean that day and said we would not have to be there for the cleaners. However, I brought my dogs and wasn't about to risk a problem between the dogs and cleaning crew so I waited for them to come. Sunday night after dinner, we ran the dishwasher (which smelled horrible) and the water didn't drain at the end of the cycle. So another call to Margaret Rudd Realty (after hours) and they sent an appliance repairman out today. Apparently there was a lot of grease in the line which clogged everything up and he had to replace the line. Again, I was told I did not have to be there to let the repairman in, but again I didn't want to risk a problem between my dogs and the repairman. So that's fixed, we ran the dishwasher successfully, and it doesn't stink anymore. So then I did a load of towels. No problems with the washing machine, but the dryer is caked with gunk on the inside. I think it's gum. And the lint trap was never cleaned. I am incredibly frustrated that I paid money to stay in someone's house and wait for repairs to be done when I'm supposed to be on vacation. I truly hope the rest of our week is better. I will never come back to this house and I do not recommend it to anyone. So very disappointed.
Our family of 5 plus the dog had plenty of room in this comfortable house. The grandparents even came to visit for one night and there were enough beds for all of us. Having 3 bathrooms was an added bonus. We enjoyed making all our meals at the house which saved us time and money. I would recommend updating some pots, pans and utensils but we managed with what was available. The upstairs master bedroom has an awesome view and was a relaxing retreat. Our family enjoyed our time on the beach with public access just a block a way, a trip to the aquarium, Greenland Farms and Easter service at Unite Church. We would recommend this property to others!
We really LOVED this house. It is perfect for multiple families traveling together. It is very close to the beach, and on a part of the island where the beach is not crowded at all!
One thing worth knowing though is that this is not an owner managed property. I generally come to vrbo because I don't like dealing with rental companies. Our experiences with the management company that manages this house were pretty poor.
We enjoyed our stay at this wonderful beach house. Thank you so much for sharing it with us. It is a beautiful spacious home and we are so happy we could bring our whole family along( including our dogs)! The new deck looks great and the view from the deck is beautiful. I would recommend this house to anyone!!!! Again Thanks so much for sharing with us!!!
Our family just returned from an amazing week at Bryant Cottage. The accommodations were perfect for my husband and me, our (3) teenage kids and their friends, and our (3) canine kids! This is the perfect place if you are looking for a no frills, nice, quiet, and comfortable getaway. Clean, cozy and suited our needs perfectly :-) Lori is absolutely wonderful and was extremely understanding about our wanting to bring our pets. I highly recommend Bryant Cottage...A++++++++++++++!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We have a 3 night minimum..............
