About this property

*Cozy Family Hideaway (Mountain Views + Big Deck)*

About Meschelle’s place

Enjoy the sweeping views and fresh mountain air from our beloved hideaway, tucked up in the hills but less than a 10-minute drive from downtown Waynesville. Spend a cozy evening on the deck watching the sunset, or venture out along the trails on the property. There are also many other trails, some with waterfalls to explore nearby. Plan to spend a day at glittering Lake Junaluska for scenic paddle boarding/canoeing, miniature golf, swimming and fishing, or stroll along the water walkway. No matter what your mountain adventure looks like, let our retreat be your home away from home.

The space

This home has all the comforts you could want for a relaxing weekend — or week — away. We invite you to soak up every moment on our elevated deck, which boasts stunning views of the Blue Ridge Mountains that even the visiting birds and squirrels can’t resist. With a locking gate at the top of the outdoor stairs, children and pets can roam freely on the deck as well.

The 1350-foot living area is well appointed for gathering. Watch a movie by the gas fireplace, or play board games around the large dining room table after a dinner you can prepare from our well-equipped kitchen. (There are also plenty of great restaurants in the area if you prefer not to lift a finger — it’s vacation, after all.)

The house comfortably sleeps 8 people, with three bedrooms (one with a queen-sized bed and the other two with bunk beds - full-sized mattresses on the bottom and twin-sized mattresses on top) and two bathrooms.

We do have WiFi and a Roku for streaming, in addition to a DVD player with a large selection of movies to meet a variety of tastes. We also have antenna service, which provides access to a few channels.

*Please Note: When you are driving up the hill to the house, after passing the trailer home, you will have to take a sharp right turn. There is a drainage ditch to the left when you are turning, so be careful not to fall into it.

We’re here to make your stay as pleasant as can be! Please let us know how we can be of assistance.

There are security cameras on the property; however, they are not facing the house. They are only facing the road coming up to the property and the trails behind the house. Therefore, you will have your privacy.

Weekend Getaway
We had an wonderful stay at this home. We were able to cook in the kitchen, hike the trails, enjoy the view from the deck, enjoy the hot tub, and the biggest highlight for us was the fireplace.

Lovely little home with a great view!
This is a cute little home located very close to downtown Waynesville. It is up a fairly steep gravel road on the side of a mountain and has a beautiful view from the porch! The living room is spacious and was perfect for our family gathering. Dining room table can seat 8 for meals and games. There is a hot tub but we did not use it. Large kitchen that could use a small table for 2. The Large gas fireplace really kept us cozy! It is so close To everything! Only down side was they could use some better cookware, the pans they have there need to be replaced. Would recommend and we would definitely rent again!

As an avid traveler, I have an appreciation for the wonderful experience staying in VRBOs can provide. It is my goal to visit all 50 states and all 7 continents. 49 states down, missing North Dakota. Any suggestions for the best attractions there? 5 continents to go and I can't wait. Hmm, I wonder if I can find a VRBO in Antarctica?

During the day, I work as an accountant and as a part-time instructor for a community college. When time allows, I love to head up to the mountains from Charlotte, NC to spend time at our Cozy Family Getaway. This provides me an opportunity to de-stress and enjoy the great outdoors of the Smokey Mountains. One of my kids' and my favorite hangout places is Lake Junaluska. It is beautiful there and the kid's love the paddle boarding. I love the outdoors and nature, so this is the perfect place to spend my time.

I would love to share my house with you so that you can enjoy some of the same experiences we have.

Why they chose this property

We take pride in making our home a comfortable place to stay so that you can enjoy your time off from the regular life stressors.

What makes this property unique

Wonderful view of the mountains and if lucky, amazing sunsets. Hiking trails in the backyard with 3 fire pits. We keep the trails mowed so it is an easy hike. In addition to the lovely birds (hummingbirds and otherwise) and the squirrels raiding the bird feeder, I have also observed deer, wild turkeys (a mom with 7 babies!), turtles, marmots, and too many bunnies to count. We also have a hot tub to work out sore muscles.
