Lower Matecumbe is the name of our small island in Islamorada. We are at mile marker 76.5. (THE REAL ISLAMORADA). We are walking distance to Robbie's Marina, home to a large resident population of tarpon the you can watch and feed. They also have boat rentals and tours, and a wonderful restaurant. We are also very close to Bud and Mary's Marina, World Wide Sportsman, Sandy Cove, and Calusa Cove Marinas, and more. There are many restaurants with in three miles to visit by boat or car or bike.
A stay at our location puts you about 100 yards from the Atlantic Ocean, but back water access takes just minutes via Indian Key Channel or world famous fishing channels number #2 or #5. Clean, quite, private, fully updated and outfitted makes our house fun and functional for the whole family. Pam and I look forward to having you stay.
I will be waiting for your call or text to tell you even more about the house and the area.

Why Owner chose Islamorada
We love Islamorada and this home. Its location helps us easily explore the crystal clear water of both the reef and back waters. We are close to many shallow water snorkeling spots and lots of waterfront restaurants. Fishing close by is wonderful.
What makes this House unique
This home is located on a quiet private street and it has wonderful protected dockage with quick easy access.

We had a delightful time!
Our stay was great, close to everything! Loved the Manitees that came right into the harbor!
The house was very clean and just the right size for 4.
Fantastic Vacation... Fantastic Memories.....
We were looking for a place to fish and just chill out after coming through Hurricane Irma.... We found it at this beautiful home located in Islamorada. Due to Hurricane Irma crossing over the Keys four weeks earlier, I wasn't sure that we were even going to be able to fish Islamorada. Chris emailed me and said the place was find.... This house met and exceeded my expectations. The house was very clean, well kept and impressive. I really loved the modern kitchen appliances. We had everything needed for preparing meals. We had a great view of palm trees and the canal as it opened up to the Atlantic. I brought my boat down from the St. Augustine Fl. area. The dock area was great for securing the boat. Each morning we loaded up the boat and was able get out and catch Mangrove, Mutton and Yellow Tail snappers. After fishing all day, it was great to be able to dock up to the house, clean fish, have a few drinks and chill out in the yard. We met some of the locals at different restaurants and tackle shops and they were extremely helpful with information about the area (post Irma). A big shout out to Scott (Manager at the Bass Pro Shop), very helpful. Staying seven (7) days at the home turned out to be a fantastic vacation. I wish we could have stayed longer. I highly recommend Chris' house for your time in the Keys. His hospitality and services made for an effortless stay in Islamorada. I will be back...... Thanks Chris...........
Great place for a fishing week
The property was just what we needed for our "guys week" fishing getaway. Slept 6 adults very comfortably.
Just a few things to note: the "road" to the house is really more of a one-lane dead-end gravel driveway - certainly serviceable, but we initially drove to the house towing a 25 foot boat, and had a devil of a time turning around - you'll definitely want to launch BEFORE you get to the house. The free local boat ramp looks a little sketchy, but it is hard-packed and drops off quickly - we had no trouble launching and loading. There was plenty of room to park 2 trucks and 2 boat trailers on the property. Plenty of room to dock both boats as well.(one 25 foot and one 18) The canal is narrow, but not a problem - the "inlet" to the canal is a little shallow, and depending on your draft, you'll need to pay attention at low tide.
The house itself was very clean and comfortable. Had everything we could possibly need (Including a large bait-freezer, charcoal and gas grills, etc.) We had a great week and boated plenty of fish despite the weather acting up. Would definitely stay again.
destination wedding trip!
Chris was extremely helpful on helping me work out the details to help rent the canal front. He was very quick to respond to emails within the hour if i had any questions. The pictures don't do the canal front justice. When we got there we were amazed how clean and beautiful the property was. Couldn't have been happier with everything!
Peaceful, Relaxing, but accessible. A little piece of heaven by the water.
Arrived late in the night & had an immediate issue with unlocking the door, reluctantly phoned Chris, but even with the hour he could not have been more helpful, assuring us that it was just stiff & we were unlikely to snap the key off in the lock... & we were in. Which is all you can ask for, that any issues you may have are dealt with promptly, which they were.
Lovely clean, airy & well presented home, we could not have wished for more, Kitchen was well equipped, lots of books & games, & a lovely place to sit out both day & night (mosquito's were generally only a slight problem, nothing 'Off' wouldnt cure) & the downstairs ... well if you have a teenager after that bit more independence, its perfect for them, its all but self contained & they always appear at mealtimes.
Robbies is walkable (about a mile), but you really need a vehicle to access other areas. 5 mins to Islamorada, 25 to Key Largo or Marathon. The Islamorada direction see's you passing frequent places to eat, a couple of tackle shops & a small store or two, closest Larger store is a Winn Dixie at Tavineer (15Mins), but they were advertising the building of a new Publix which would be closer.
So our view on the location was very peaceful, with everything very accessible by either road or water, what more could someone want..
We had a boat for the duration & at 22ft was docked without problem, although the channel coming into the boat dyke was very shallow & rocky at the point of entrance from the Atlantic, so some care was needed. Very accessible to both the Atlantic Reefs & Wrecks for great fishing & diving. Also just up from Channel 2 & 5 (about 4miles) which are well known fishing marks, & from there easy access into the flats/Everglades (about 30miles to flamingo) & the Gulf of Mexico, which are all great fishing.
Did we like it, YES we loved it.
Would we stay there again when we go back to the keys, YES most definitely.
Only two small things that I could think of that could make it even better...
Include a couple of Kayaks with the property, with it being on the water, they would get so much use. (they can be rented from Robbies, but so much better if they were just their).
Kettle for the Kitchen (I know the Brits are mad but we do like our hot Tea or Coffee in the morning), saves boiling it in a saucepan.
Thanks Chris for allowing us to Share your wonderful home.
Your home was super clean with a very well equipped kitchen. The location was perfect with nice restaurants close by and easy access to travel down to the other Keys, which we did almost every day.
The "walk & bike" pathways that are alongside all of the roads are very convenient.
Great weather..great restaurants --it was a very relaxing week!
Anne' Beach and Sea Oats Beach are on our Island and are close by. Lots to see and explore! Close by you can swim with the dolphin or feed turtles!
