Overview

About the property

1 Bedroom + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath (Sleeps 2-4)

Welcome to NC's Blue Ridge Mountains! You have just found the closest and most unique Vacation Rental to Stone Mountain State Park!

Our cabin is located less than 1 mile to the entrance of Stone Mountain State Park where you will find magnificent Waterfalls, historic landmarks, hiking trails, mountain climbing and much, much more!

Imagine this...you're sitting on the front porch of a beautiful log cabin, enjoying the cool, fresh mountain air. Now...look out below and you will see a 70 mile panoramic view featuring every shade of the color green spread out over a wide forested valley and time softened mountains. White clouds hang like dollops of meringue in the Carolina blue sky. (Continued below)

Now...look east and you will see Pilot Mountain ('Mt. Pilot' as it was referred to on the famous Andy Griffith TV show). And on a clear day, you can see the tall buildings in downtown Winston Salem, NC, over 50 miles away!

And at night...Wow...the twinkling night lights in the valley are breathtaking and soooo romantic!

Natural beauty of the magnitude is so inspiring and a true feast for the senses...it nourishes the soul.

It will be equally magnificent when Autumn leaves paint it red, copper, bronze and gold; when winter snow blankets it with a sparkling layer of sugar white, and when spring shoots, buds and flowers inundate it in a sea of lacy pastel foam.

Our Stone Mountain rental cabin is the perfect vacation spot for all seasons!

The view is AMAZING from this cabin!

  • 4 of 5

The cabin was private but easy to get to, only one mile from Stone Mountain State Park, which I also HIGHLY recommend. The cabin is located either on top of a mountain or on a ridge because the view is amazing! You're so high up you see clouds below! Being able to bring our dogs was a bonus, too. The exterior of the cabin looks like the original hewn logs, but the interior has been refinished in a beautiful knotty pine. Upon entering, the place smells of pine! Everything you could need is provided in this cabin. The owners are friendly and the manager is close by if needed. We also went to "Mayberry", but next time will stay here longer!

Go ahead and book it, you won't regret it.

If you enjoy the simple things in life, this place is for you. Take in the view, relax in the hot tub, grill a juicy steak, make a fire, hike to the summit of Stone Mountain....we did and it was fantastic!

Simple cabin, beautiful view

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our stay! The owners were very responsive and accommodating. The cabin is not fancy, but is comfortable, clean and well-kept and has everything you need. We appreciated that there was soap and paper towel and even some coffee in the fridge. Only two windows have screens, but there's a window air conditioner and ceiling fans. Loved the expansive view of mountains and sky from the porch and the hot tub. The ice cream at the Stone Mountain Country store was good, but overall the store was a disappointment. Maybe it was just the day we were there, but the guys working the place didn't seem friendly and we didn't find it to be well-stocked during our stay so I wouldn't plan on them having anything you need. (Unless its cast iron cookware- they have a whole wall of that.) Roaring River Vineyard was a great find nearby- beautiful tasting room with a simple menu and covered porch right on a rushing river. We got rained out of a hike at Stone Mountain park but we're looking forward to our next visit!

Owner's Response: We hope you can come back soon! Glad you enjoyed the cabin. Just let us know when you want to come again. Hopefully it won't be as rainy next time! It was the remnants of Harvey coming through. The store is not affiliated with us at all, but sorry it didn't make a better impression. Martha
