Recently updated lakefront house in the beautiful Berkshires on Robin Hood Lake, a 'no-wake lake' in Becket, MA. Swim, fish, boat or kayak just steps from the house or relax in the hammocks or glider. Sip wine by the dock or on the wrap-around deck overlooking the lake.. The main level of the home has 2 very spacious (10 x 17 and 13 x 12) queen size bedrooms, a full bathroom and a great room (with-wall to-wall window views of the yard and lake) that includes a dining area and fully equipped kitchen. The deck off of the living area has a propane grill and 2 tables, with 6 and 4 chairs.
The lower level has the third large (16 x 8) queen size bedroom with window seat facing the yard and lake. There is also a den w/ cable TV, a full bath and laundry area. This level includes a ping pong table, mini pool table, water cooler and mini refrigerator.
The large front and back yards have lawn furniture and a picnic table. The property includes a 4-person canoe, two kayaks, and a small sailboat.
We thoroughly enjoyed our week on Robin Hood Lake in Becket. The house was just perfect for our needs. We had our 2 granddaughters with us, and they were able to kayak and fish to their hearts content. Waterfront was just what we were looking for. The lake was quiet with very little boat traffic. The house was well maintained, and you knew right away that it was used and maintained by the owners, and not a lake home used for rentals. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen well stocked and the deck a delight. Were it not for the mosquitoes at dusk, I believe that we would have stayed out there forever!
The weather was perfect our entire stay, and the temperatures at least 15 degrees cooler than “home”. That made our stay even more delightful. There is a small store/restaurant close by, convenient enough for the daily paper and a loaf of bread. We were familiar with the area, so were able to cross over into Otis for an ice cream cone at night. There was an entire bucket full of “to do” material that was available.
It was very thoughtful of the owner to provide us with the list of information relating to our stay in advance. So much better than reading it in a book after we arrived. Thank you Amy for the use of your home, and we look forward to returning in 2017!
The property was even more beautiful than pictured online. Spacious, immaculately clean, all the comforts of home. Overlooks your own private boat dock on a pristine lake. Very close to Jacob's Pillow and a quick drive into Stockbridge and Pittsfield. Hiking through the Fall foliage was magnificent.
Steve and Amy (owners) were gracious and extremely friendly. They made sure everything was right and were always available to answer questions. They made us feel like "family".
We hope to go back again in the Spring and would recommend this property to all of our friends and family.
We enjoyed the quiet, read in the hammocks, and had the lake almost to ourselves during the week for kayaking. The house was very clean and nicely equipped and designed. Jacob's Pillow is just down the road and nearby Lee provided some great meals. Owners are very welcoming and available for help and questions. A great place to decompress. Be aware that it is not an easy walk or bike to town location for those who want that. We were happy to trade that bit of convenience for the quiet of the lake and to hop in the car to head over to a market or out for dinner.
Lovely house, just like it's pictured. We arrived and couldn't get over how clean it was. The house has hardwood floors and area rugs and the decorating was tasteful. Hardwood in my opinion is easier to keep clean and odor free compared to carpet. Like the other houses on the lake, the house is not huge, but the thoughtful layout makes the house seem much bigger on the inside, it's like an optical illusion! As the crow flies the house is close to Mass Pike and Route 20 but it was still super quiet.
Even though we were there during what is probably a busy week-- 4th of July, it literally felt like we had the entire lake to ourself on the weekdays, it was incredible. Didn't see another boat all day long. During the weekdays it was hardly over run either, we did enjoy the neighborhood fireworks display on the 4th.
The owner is very accessible for questions and instructions, the clear wish is for her guests to have a good time.
Maybe the only thing negative to say, if you're in to biking and running like I am, it is very hilly, there's no flat routes, especially if you find yourself on Route 20 for added distance. Route 20 felt very safe for cycling, but it is a four mile climb east bound on route 20 to get to the neighborhood entrance.
There are very few lakes in the Berkshires best I could tell, if you want a nice house in the Berkshires, you'll do great here, if you want a house on a lake, even better, you're not going to have many choices, and this is a very nice house.
This wonderful two-level home in the Berkshires provided the perfect get-away. It was immaculate, tastefully decorated, with nearly everything one could think of needing or wanting available. The lakefront setting was beautiful. There was plenty of entertainment in the basement for young and old (wide choice of TV channels, assorted table games, great movie selection) and a serene setting on the main level to enjoy the view any time of year. Also upstairs is an incredible music collection, as well as fantastic art.
The kitchen was well-appointed, the beds were super comfy, having two bathrooms was great, and the owners’ belongings were minimal and out of the way. The only thing that would have made this home completely perfect would be a fire place. We almost didn't choose this property because of it, but it would have been our loss.
The owner is very friendly and was prompt to respond to any questions. The transactions went smoothly and besides explaining everything over the phone, they also had a notebook full of helpful hints and tips for the home. They also provide a huge selection of information on the local area.
We enjoyed our weekend in this lovely home in the Berkshires and definitely would stay here again.
This house, situated in a wonderfully serene spot on a quiet lake, was immaculate and left nothing to be desired. The owners have thought of everything (down to the very helpful list of area farmers' markets on the fridge). Highlights include the backyard setting, lake and forest views, wonderful deck with fantastic new grill; the canoe and kayaks; the well-stocked kitchen and bathrooms; and the tastefully appointed rooms throughout. We took advantage of the community's small sand beach, as well. A little slice of heaven. We'll definitely rent this place again next time we're in the Berkshires.
The Berkshires are a noted cultural, arts and recreational center. Within minutes of the home is Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival, Tanglewood Music Festival, Shakespeare and Co., plus many summer theaters, Kripalu Yoga Center, Canyon Ranch Spa/Day Spa, Appalachian Trail hiking.
