Lovely apartment in Barrio Norte/Recoleta of Buenos Aires, recently refurbished, new furniture and kitchen and bathrooms. 1 1/2 blocks from subte stop, one block from Av. Santa Fe, near many shops and restaurants. Many buses nearby. One block from a main hospital. Apartment has A/C and heat, wifi, cable TV, phone. Weekly maid service, rental assistance available with local contact.
I normally live in the apartment some three months a year, so I keep it totally updated re. its functioning perfectly. I feel it is 'home' for me and therefore it is not 'just a rental place.' My agent lives across the hall and is always attentive to the renter's needs. Everybody who stays here has nothing but praises for her!
Anita Herzfeld purchased this apartment in 2008
Location is insuperable. I have lived in Buenos Aires during my youth and this is the location I have always wanted to live in. The area means a lot to me, because it has all my favorite stores and it is still a 'neighborhood', rather than an ordinary place in a big city.
I love the apartment because I chose every piece of furniture quite carefully--thinking of keeping it simple and manageable for both renters and myself. I would define it as comfortable, above everything else, and easy to keep it clean and welcoming.
I reached out to the owner to check on availability and was amazed at her responsiveness. From that moment on, every detail of our stay was handled efficiently and warmly. This apartment is the owner's home several months out of the year and her landlady is her childhood friend who lives in the apartment across the hallway. They were both always in contact and readily available to attend to any concern or need we had. This apartment is located on one of the main streets in Buenos Aires which leaves you well-located to bus routes and the SUBE for explorations. There are coffee shops and food markets just outside the door, and you are within walking distance to malls and Recoleta, a very pretty area of the city with museums, a famous cemetery, restaurants, and weekend outdoor markets. Since you're on a very busy street (there was construction on the SUBE during our stay just below us) be aware that it can be noisy. If you're a big-city person, you can probably sleep right through it all and the double-pane windows help. The kitchen is well-equipped for preparing meals and the dining room is a highlight of the apartment. Tastefully decorated and appointed, the apartment is inviting and comfortable. The beds were quite comfortable and the apartment was cleaned weekly and linens changed out. One of the most precious things about our stay was Fany, the landlady. She is very concerned about your comfort and goes out of her way to make sure you have everything you need. Both she and Anita are wonderful people; you can't go wrong with this rental!
My wife and I traveled to Buenos Aires to spend time with our daughter as she completed a study abroad program. The owner went above and beyond to accommodate our daughter as she arrived back into town a day before our arrival. But we had come to expect truly great service from the owner through the outstanding communication we received during the rental process and the time before our trip.
The apartment is ideally situated in the heart of the Recoleta neighborhood and is convenient to whatever you may need to make your trip a success. Cafes, shopping and markets abound in this area and you truly are moments away from everything. Excellent transportation to the rest of the city is also only a block or two away for the Subte (subway) and bus routes are everywhere.
We found the apartment to be perfect for our needs and the amenities are great if you want to stay in and cook and lounge after a few hectic days as we did a few times. During our two week the apartment received a thorough cleaning each week and we never really wanted for anything more. It is comfortable with plenty of room to sleep three but no more! We had plenty of room for guests one night as three students came over for dinner and we were not overly crowded. The apartment building is secure and properly maintained and we experienced no problems during our stay.
But one of the true treasures of our trip was meeting the woman that manages the apartment for the owner. I won't mention her name for privacy but she is one of the dearest ladies we have ever met. She sincerely wanted our stay to be the best it could be and it showed.
Overall I would recommend this property to anyone. You can spend a great deal more for a modern glitzy apartment but you will not find a better value.
My husband and I spent our one-month sabbatical in Buenos Aires and rented this apartment for the entire stay.
The apartment's location is very central and the best to explore all the other areas in the city. It is very close to La Recoleta and with easy access to the subte. We also had a supermarket, hair salons, places to eat/coffee shops, laundry service very close. We have visited Buenos Aires various times in the past and have stayed in Palermo and other areas, and this apartment is definitely in the Best Location to explore the city.
The apartment is beautifully decorated and spacious. This made our stay to be very comfortable and enjoyable. We had various great at home dinners in the beautiful dining room and felt like being at home. The apartment is spotlessly cleaned weekly with the bed linen and towels changed. Very comfortable!
Anita is very organized! and made the rental experience very easy for us. She also provided us with an extensive list of recommendations like places to order food, which we loved. And Fany is so gracious! They are a great team and made us feel very very comfortable.
We have stayed in various neighborhoods and apartments in Buenos Aires in the past and Anita's has been definitely the best!
We very highly recommend it!

This apartment is a gem. It's been furnished with exquisite taste and has all amenities. The location can't be better-- proximity to public transportation, walking distance to several of the city's most intriguing neighborhoods, restaurants and cafes nearby-- the list goes on. Plus Fany and Anita provide the warmest of welcomes. I've stayed in many apts in BS AS an this is the place I continue returning to time after time.
We stayed here for a week in October because we wanted a base to explore as much of the city as we could in the week we had and it was the best decision we made for lodging during our entirentrip. First of sll, the location in Recoleta is excellent. It really is a block from the subway, which in turn takes you to almost every part of the city you want to visit. It also takes you to the train station, which you can take to Tigre, a suburb resort just outside of the city. The location is in the middle of s shopping and restaurant area and there are more than 20 restaurants and bars, which also serve food, w/in a four block radius. There are also 4 laundries, a TaTa supermarket, lots of minimarkets and pharmacies, a major hospital, hair salons....basically every convenience you need to live here. We were so impressed w/the apt itself. Exceptionally clean, comfortable, and liveable. The second bedroom is more of an office w/a single daybed but it has a full bath, so it is a full single bedroom and bath. Lots of living space, full dining room and living room as well. The baths don't have alot of counter space, but the master bath has a tub and shower w/plenty of hot water. Ms. Fany, the manager, lives across the hall and was so gracious and informative during our stay, but totally unintrusive, there only when we needed her. The wifi and tv worked great and there is plenty of storage in the master br for luggage, clothing, and personal items. The building is locked and you get a key while you're there so it's very secure. It has a small, small elevator, 2 to 4 people tops, that has the two doors that you have to shut before it will function. Charming decor in the lobby w/lots of wood paneling? All in all, we felt like we were at home, which is the best compliment one can pay to a vacation lodging. I wish we could have stayed a month! Maybe next time......
As others have pointed out, there's a lot to like about this apartment: its location is ideal; the owner and the on-site apartment manager are not only extremely professional, but also charming to work with; the layout and furnishings of the apartment--elegant and comfortable furniture, a complete kitchen & dining area, comfortable bed and couches; the impeccable cleaning the maid does; the nearby amenities (restaurants, grocery, public transportation). The apartment faces the street, so you can hear street noise, but if you're looking for a quiet building, I'd recommend this spot. In short, our stay was wonderful. Thanks!
