We purchased Suite Dreams because of its special location that overlooks the animal life and the boating along the channel and in the Bay as you view it through the Yaquina Bay Bridge. Its a perfect place to relax and unwind, read a book, or perhaps to sip a glass of wine. And as you relax on the windowed settee in the living room, you'll often see seals bobbing up and down in the water as they themselves look at you; and, on occasion, you might see killer whales as they inspect the channel. For these and many other attractions, kids also love to lounge on the settee where they often take naps.
There is a view of the water from the bedrooms, kitchen, and living area. The large bedroom upstairs has a queen bed, reading area, deck, and a full bath. The kitchen and living area are spacious, inviting, and beautifully decorated.
The downstairs bedroom also has a queen bed, writing desk, lounge area with reading lamp, and, of course a view of the water, lighthouse, bridge, and wildlife. It has its own full bathroom.
The house has been designed with tile, wood floors and granite counters in the bathroom and kitchen. One of our visitors happened to be an interior designer from London and she helped put the 'finishing touches' on what she calls 'the perfect beach house'. I can only hope that you will appreciate the special touches that we have added to make this your home away from home.
Should you be celebrating a special occasion, we would love to know about this so that we could put together a complimentary basket. Welcome to Suite Dreams!

Karen and George have lived in Newport for 28 years. Their children, Michael and Alexandra, were born and grew up in Newport. Our family has a boutique, Queen of Hearts, located in Nye Beach, which has been in business for 25 years. George is a scientist, retired but is still doing research.
George & Karen Mpitsos purchased this townhome in 2008
We chose this particular townhouse because of its beautiful location on the South Jetty of the channel leading into Yaquina Bay. We eventually want to make it our home. We spent many summer days hiking in the sand dunes with the kids and dogs. The South Jetty is a great place to have a picnic as well. There is a 2 mile trail which is part of Park and Recreation, that the kids biked, rollerbladed and ran over the years of growing up here. A year ago Suite Dreams was built and now we have friends and family who also come play and relax here. It is a place that is good for the soul. We hope you like it as much as we do.
We each have different favorite experiences. At the ocean-end of the South Jetty, the beach stretches southward for many miles, and we've often enjoyed walking these distances that, with so few people populating them, seem as if they are made for us alone.
I particularly love watching the boats come and go, the sea lions in the bay (they always appear to be looking at you) and the closeness to the walking trails and beach. Some of my other favorite things to do while sitting in the window seat are, looking at the bridge, lighthouse, Newport's Bayfront and listening to the fog horn and sea life noises.
We found this townhouse to be exactly as described and pictured on VRBO, which hasn't always been the case with other rentals we've chosen off this site. The views of the river/bay and bridge were gorgeous, and the ocean is an easy walk away. Here are some details I noted.
Suite Dreams has very nice wood floors, excellent climate control, and clean and good condition furnishings. The kitchen is nice and very functional except for two significant omissions: garbage bags or appropriate coffee filters. Also, there are too few coffee cups for even the 4 people we had, let alone the 6 this place potentially sleeps. There is plenty of room for a king bed in the big upstairs bedroom, but it has only a queen. Thankfully, it's a very comfy queen. The ensuite fan clacks in the wind but doesn't actually work. And the sleeping pad on one bed downstairs makes a lot of noise. The property management people are in Lincoln City, so if you need them, it could be a hassle/delay to get someone there. The cable channels are VERY limited.
The walking paths in both directions (along the river toward the sea and back onto a pier into the bay) are wonderful! We saw seals or sea lions playing/hunting right out front of house many times and a great big NOAA ship and 2 smallish Coast Guard boats leaving port. You can just see the breakers at the bar from the house. Sunset was stunning, especially viewed from the comfy window seat. And the gas fireplace with easy on/off switch is wonderful for warming up after a walk on a rainy winter day!
I just realized that I had not posted a review after our stay in August. There was 4 of us, 2 couples and the stay was exactly what we had envisioned and more. We took our boat and kept it at the marina, it was so nice and close. The Condo was just perfect & immaculate, it had every thing we needed to cook nice meals and watch the sunset after a day of being on the water. The condo was decorated in a way to make you feel spoiled and relaxed, which is what a good vacation should be. The weather was amazing. The location puts you in the Heart of Newport within 5 minutes in any direction. We cannot wait to get back.......... Thank you for making our stay so wonderful.
We were incredibly impressed with the view and accommodations. The space was even prettier than the photos and we couldn't hear a sound from the other condos. The beds were comfortable; even for someone with a bad back. Our kids loved the gas fireplace, beautiful and well-lit reading areas and being able to hear the sea lions chatting at night (outside only).
The owner bent over backwards to make us feel welcome and comfortable.
I would highly recommend this rental for anyone with families and those wanting quiet, a fantastic view and an easy-to-get-to location.
We booked this vacation rental due to the location. It is in a prime location in Newport, Or with restaurants nearby, trails, bay views and just an ideal spot to come to the Oregon coast and relax. You really can't find a better location than this with all that surrounds you( ocean, jetty, bridge, watch the boats travel through the port!).
Our stay was relaxing, however this rental could be managed much better. We booked our stay over a month in advance and just prior to our scheduled stay we had heard nothing from the owners on how to check-in, obtain access to rental etc. With that said, I had to call the owners and find out what was going on. They seemed to not know either and had to call me back without a clear answer. It would have been nice to not have to worry about our reservation as we had no email or phone call confirmation.
Overall, it was a nice place but we as customers did not feel as if we were appreciated. We felt more as if we were bothering them which is unfortunate. Customer service speaks volumes either good or bad.
we had an absolutely amazing holiday in Newport. George and Karen were so welcoming as hosts - from their prompt and pleasant first response to our enquiry all the way through to meeting George when we arrived (very early in the day, at no extra charge!)
The property was immaculate and affordable, the location was perfect for our family and the home was so lovely.... We couldn't possibly have had a better stay :) The beds were so comfortable - I slept better than I do at home.
The condo has been remodeled with luxurious touches and is very livable. The view is amazing - we watched sea lions frisking in the bay right from the sweet window-seat and the sunset on the bridge was breathtaking.
I'd like to personally thank our hosts, who went above and beyond to make sure our stay was wonderful. You cannot go wrong by staying at this property!!
The Oregon Coast Aquarium, the Hatfield Marine Science Center, and the national headquarters of the Rogue Brewery & Restaurant, and Lighthouse Deli with fresh, local fish are all located within a quarter of a mile. Ocean fishing, discovery & whale watching boating are available within a mile across the bridge at the historic Newport Bay Front with excellent restaurants and seafood, all well in view.
