Aloha! Welcome to Paradise!
Located in the newer, quiet, Konea Tower!
Welcome to the Honua Kai Resort and Spa, Maui’s newest luxury beach front resort. Located in West Maui, North Ka’anapali Beach has been voted one of the top 10 of beaches in the world. This complex, which opened in 2010, is simply amazing and comprises 43 acres of manicured tropical landscaping. The Honua Kai has open air lobbies with ocean views, a fitness center with state of the art equipment, infinity pool with cabanas, aqua loungers and hot tubs, lazy river, a kids area pool with sand bottom, grotto and a water slide, all overlooking the back drop of the Ocean.
We also have a nearly identical suite VRBO #400530. If you need a second suite or this one is already booked, please check it out. If you need something a little larger check out our 1 bedroom and den VRBO #554771 which can sleep 6 people.
Many travelers have commented that the inner courtyard suites, while beautiful, have lanais that face each other, are close together and generally they feel that privacy is somewhat lacking. Others are concerned about the construction on the south side of the other tower. Our suite is in the newer Konea tower on the quiet side overlooking tranquil Honoapi'ilani Park which provides privacy while still maintaining the partial Ocean Views! The view picture from our lanai is accurate, we did not use a zoom lens.
Ho'ola Spa is now open in our Konea tower. From Massage & many treatments to the Himalayan Salt Spa room it has it all.
The suite is the extra large 780 sq. ft. unit with soaker tub, separate shower and double sinks in the bathroom. It features Partial Ocean Views from the 140 sq.ft. lanai. This is “turn key” with a gourmet kitchen with every utensil supplied and featuring Bosch stainless steel appliances and granite counter tops. The large master bedroom has a king size bed plus an HD TV, a huge ensuite bath with separate shower and tub and his and hers sinks. The living room has a queen size pull out couch, flat screen HD TV with Blu Ray player & a dining room area.
We also have a Roku device (Similar to Apple TV) hooked up for Netflix , Fox News & games like Angry Birds for your enjoyment.
Looking for the ultimate in scenery and relaxation? The Honua Kai has it all. Walk or jog the boardwalk to Whaler’s Village or snorkel at Black Rock. Relax by the pool or pop into Duke’s Beach House for happy hour or dinner. Shopping is nearby & there is the Aina Gourmet Market located in the Hokulani lobby.

Aloha, we are Terry and Jill, we are Realtors and we have been coming to Hawaii since the 1980's. We used to always go to Waikiki but now we find that West Maui in general and the Honua Kai Resort in particular take the Hawaiian experience to a whole new level.
We love living in Vancouver B.C. but this place is exactly what we dreamed about in a 'home away from home'.
Jill purchased this condo in 2011
As Realtors we believe that it is all about location. (cliched but true) We scouted out several areas in Maui but found that the combination of easy access from the airport, beach front access, proximity to shopping, Whaler's Village and Lahaina made the location ideal. When you add in all that the Honua Kai Resort has to offer is was a 'no brainer'.
We love gourmet cooking and we find that having a fully stocked kitchen with everything from the salad spinner to the martini shaker was ideal for us. When we land at OGG we grab the rental car and then drive 1 block to Costco and load up. In the afternoon we will relax by the pool and then usually hit Duke's for Happy Hour to have a cocktail and an appie and listen to a little live Hawaiian music. We follow that up with some time on our lanai before either firing up the stove or heading to the bar-be-cue areas that feature many Viking Grills. If dining out is the plan we take a stroll down the boardwalk to one of many restaurants along the way or head into Lahaina. The boardwalk that separates the Honua Kai from the beach also comes in handy in the morning. We like to grab a coffee at Aina Market and take a leisurely stroll towards Black Rock and Whaler's Village. For those that love to run or jog the boardwalk is a scenic treat.
We were very pleased with the level of service we received from Jill and Terry throughout the whole process and trip. After having a friend be scammed with a rental on the big island, I was a bit nervous, but they made everything so easy and provided all of the information we needed. The condo was very clean, organized and well-appointed with everything that we could have needed during our trip. It was so helpful that they had beach gear available and we were happy to have all the amenities of home (i.e. W/D, coffee maker, etc) during our stay. The location of the condo is great - near (but not too near) the elevator and on the quiet side of the building. The store being walking distance was also a very nice convenience. The pools were a big hit with the kids and the beach, although not huge and a bit rocky, was good for boogie boarding. Everything else is not too far of a drive (or long walk) such as Whaler's Village and other hotels, beaches. We would most definitely recommend staying here and would love to come back and stay here again and again.
Everything was exactly what we needed. Jill and Terry were great in communicating through the whole trip from asking if it was available through check out. We have stayed at this site two times prior so we knew generally what to expect.
The room was nice and you can actually see the ocean from the balcony which is a plus. The room was clean on comfortable and had a lot of things for kids like a stool in the bathroom so they could reach the sink. Definitely a great room. I liked the location in the building as well, not on the ground so you don't have people walking past you but also not so high up you couldn't take the stairs if the elevator is crowded. It is also close to the elevator that runs from the underground parking all the way up so it's easy to get from your car to the room. There are supplies for cooking and washing dishes as well towels and other things you'd expect from a regular hotel. Also there's wifi, which is always nice even if cell reception is pretty good there.
A few notes on the hotel if you haven't stayed there before. It's quite and clean and fairly new. There are several pools from quite ones to one with a waterslide. The beach is ok, it is kinda short as when the high tide comes in it can come all the way up the boardwalk, but the waves are not too bad. It is a little rocky once you get into the water but there are areas to enter for snorkeling. The views are great to Lanai and Molokai. There is one restaurant on site Duke's where the food is good but it its a bit more expensive and tends to take a while for the food to come out. There's a shopping center across the street with a pancake breakfast place and a full supermarket that's open from 4AM to midnight. There are lots of good food choices in Lahaina and some to the north a mile or two as well.
Overall a great experience and one we'll likely repeat.
Beautiful condo in an excellent resort. Everything worked as it should, it was perfectly ready for our stay. Owners communicated well before, during, and after the stay. Property manager was on time and made sure everything was perfect. Great quiet location. Grocery Store across the street. I have nothing negative to say about the property. Book it!
We had such an AMAZING stay at this beautiful condo!! This was the perfect place for our family to spend time exploring this incredible island . It is obvious the time and energy Jill and Terry have put in to making this unit a home and keeping it so nice, clean, and fully stocked! We appreciate all the attention to detail given to making sure everything we might need was there and available. It was so great to have the beach chairs, noodles and boogie boards available for our use as well as everything we could need and more in the kitchen! We also could not believe how well we slept while on this trip... the best we have ever slept away from home. The bed and the bedding/pillows were ultra comfortable. As this was our first trip to Maui, we couldn't be more pleased with the beauty, location and accommodations the Honua Kai and specifically this condo offered!!
Thank you, Jill and Terry, for your hospitality and for all your wonderful organization/communication. You really helped make this a fabulous week for our family!
My husband and I spent our anniversary in this beautiful condo. We found it extremely clean, comfortable and quiet. You do not need to be concerned about the construction on the other side of this resort -- we never hear anything from the unit or the pool. The location is extremely convenient to a beautiful walking path that takes you to other resorts and close restaurants, and runs along the expansive beach. We'd like to note that the beach closest to property is beautiful and great for wading, but not necessarily snorkeling or other water activities. At the time of our stay, we found that it had a strong rip tide and may not be suitable for small children. That being said, there are beautiful pools on the property that are perfect for kids. The resort is also a short driving distance from many popular snorkeling beaches, which we enjoyed discovering.
Looking forward to our next stay!
The condo was perfect! All the little extras provided a hassle free vacation and were much appreciated. Jill and Terry were very easy to work with and answered any questions we had promptly.
