Guestbook comments from the manager

We had a great time at Lindberg's Landing. This is a great house on a nice little lake. It was impeccably clean when we walked in and was perfect for our family. Easy access to trails and Munising is a really easy drive. The Camel Rider Resturant that is practically right down the street is a must. We will be making this trip again and if we don't stay at the Landing again we will most definitely be going through one of Hiawatha's Hideaway's other homes.

Relaxing getaway in great location

  • 5 of 5

We've vacationed in the UP probably 15 times with our children (now adults), but we've never stayed in the same vacation home more than once. We've never found a home that had everything we wanted: a beautiful, clean cabin with good fishing that's conveniently located for attractions and restaurants. That is, until we stayed at Lindberg's Landing....we will definitely return to this home! The guys caught small and large mouthed bass, northern pike, and black crappie, and the birdwatching around the cabin was worthwhile. The home was super clean and well stocked with linens, dish and cooking ware, laundry, etc. as well as being comfortable and nicely furnished. Being 30 minutes from Munising made grocery shopping, Pictured Rocks National Seashore, and restaurants convenient. The Falling Rock Cafe was a great little coffee shop and deli - a new find for us this year! Great food and coffee, ice cream, gift shop with locally made products, walls of books to read, local entertainment in the evening, and free wifi were all fully enjoyed by our family. All in all, it was one of our better vacations in northern Michigan with excellent customer service through Hiawatha Hideaway Vacation Homes. A big thank you to the owners for sharing their beautiful home!

Amazing!

  • 5 of 5

Lindberg's Landing is a great off the grid getaway! We thoroughly enjoyed our honeymoon without being attached to a computer or cellphone. Munising is a 20 min drive, and the scenery is absolutely stunning! The cabin is on the lake and very private. We look forward to visiting again!

As close to perfect as you can get!!

  • 5 of 5

Lindberg's Landing is the perfect family getaway. The cabin is absolutely beautiful. It's clean & very comfortable. Lisa was the best to work with. She made the whe rental process easy. The lake is peaceful. My husband & sons have had a great time fishing out on the boat. The while place is even better than advertised. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet, peaceful getaway. We love it here. Haven't left yet and have already talked to Lisa about renting next summer!! Thank you for a great vacation!!

Nice cabin depending on your needs

  • 3 of 5

The cabin/house itself is very spacious. It's got a great kitchen and plenty of sleeping space. Having 2 bathrooms is also a huge plus. The fireplace was nice for chilly nights. The gas grill was fantastic, and having the row boat and paddle boat was nice for getting out on the lake. The cabin was very clean when we arrived, so the basics are definitely covered. It's on a beautiful lake and the location is pretty private, although there are about 5 other properties all located on this north end of the lake.

There are a few important things to keep in mind:

1. The cabin is 30 minutes from Munising. If you are staying here and planning on going into Munising often, the drive gets a bit old.

2. The lake may have isolated spots where the bottom is "sandy" as I've seen stated in a few descriptions of this property, but the parts actually connected to this property are pure muck. If you are planning on swimming, water shoes are a must...although if you're an adult you'll sink well past shoe level.

3. There is no fire wood included in this rental despite what was stated on the property description. Having the owner provide wood costs extra.

4. There are little oddities with the construction of the cabin that can be frustrating. Both the front and rear stairs have odd heights for some of the steps. You will definitely trip on these at least once. Also, the front screen has hinges opposite the storm door, so it makes getting in a bit odd. Finally, there are A LOT of light switches and fan controls in this cabin. Some switches also appear to do nothing at all... getting used to these would take more than the week we were staying.

5. The electronics in this cabin are pretty outdated. Don't expect an HDMI port anywhere. The living room has a large projection tv, and the picture only looks somewhat decent when you are basically straight in front of the screen. There is a surround sound system with outdoor speakers, but unfortunately we arrived to a note letting us know this was broken.

The bugs were really bad during our stay, but that is something that you just have to deal with depending on the date and weather.

If you are looking for a place to just relax and maybe get out and do some fishing or hiking, this definitely fits the bill, although for the price I'd recommend splitting the place with friends or family.

If you are looking for something near Munising or for a place to do a lot of swimming, I'd look elsewhere.
