A rare gem - a comfortable, modern house with plenty of rural charm! It stands out from most other Rhinebeck area homes for this unusual combination.
Lots of quiet and privacy yet only 6 miles away from Rhinebeck and the Dutchess County Fairgrounds and Rhinebeck village. Beautiful views from every room. Large deck for outdoor dining. Eight person hot tub, wonderful for star gazing at night.
It is the perfect place for a year round getaway, with all the creature comforts of home and fine dining and outdoor activities nearby.
The first floor has stunning wood floors and a large open living space: an open loft living room/dining room/kitchen with a cozy gas fireplace & huge island with leather bar stools -- great for entertaining. Mudroom with plenty of space for coats and boots, and a den with a comfortable Italian leather sofa with a pull out bed. On the second floor are four bedrooms and two bathrooms, including a master bedroom with a huge walk in closet. Sprawling deck with grill. Our house is child friendly, with lush lawns, a play structure and rope swing and indoor games. Great for families and couples seeking a quiet rural getaway, with all the pleasures of gourmet dining, shopping, movies, historic sites and outdoor activities nearby!
As New York City dwellers we were looking for a truly secluded country setting where our kids and dog could play, roam and explore. We also wanted a traffic-free route that would take less than 90 minutes door-to-door. We love the Clinton-Corners, Rhinebeck area because it's beautiful, friendly, and offers so many cultural events and gourmet treasures. The farmers market, orchards and wineries are fantastic -- and how can you beat the $5 first run movies in Red Hook and incredible ice cream at Holy Cow?
Most of all, though, our home gives us a place to relax and unwind in the most spectacular setting.

David Coleman purchased this house in 2006
We searched long and hard for a location where we could see no neighboring houses. We wanted quiet but also wanted to be close town center. We also wanted a place with cell phone coverage. We got it all.
The house is comfortable, relaxing and homey. Close to Bard, Vassar and Marist Colleges as well as the Culinary Institute of America and West Point. Minutes away from FDR Historic Site and Museum.
Beautiful house, exactly as described. We spent a very comfortable and happy week here, mostly around the large dining room table. Perfect place for catching up with old friends. Owner was very responsive, helpful, and pleasant. Hoping to return again next year!
Just 2 hours out of New York - this is a true gem. The house is nestled in the country side and each room is spacious. I just wish I could have stayed longer. David was beyond helpful and contactable throughout - I look forward to seeing it in different Seasons. A must stay!
Excellent vacation rental if you are looking for a quiet weekend away from NYC in the Catskills area! The house is very clean and spacious, my wife, son and I had tons of room. The back deck is awesome, a great place to relax and cook out, and the hot tub was very relaxing as well. Also as a bonus, the basement has a ping pong table and darts. David and his family were great hosts, and very responsive/communicative - the house has excellent instructions on how to navigate everything along with recommendations of what is close by. Rhinebeck and Red Hook are both minutes away, and are very cute little towns to explore. The owners also knew we were travelling with a little one, and had provided a child gate for the stairwell and also a kiddie pool for the porch! Very, very considerate hosts! Would definitely stay there again in the future!
We had a great weekend away just hanging out on the deck and BBQing. The home was spacious and looked exactly like the pictures. Also, the owner was extremely helpful in planning our stay and reaponsive to all of our questions. We overall had a great weekend - definitely all positive things to say and would return!
Had a great stay. In particular we enjoyed eating on the patio, enjoying the view of the yard surrounded by gorgeous trees. No complaints whatsoever. Owners very helpful and thoughtful. House is equipped with everything mentioned on the site and more (ping-pong table in the basement! karaoke machine! board games and jigsaw puzzles!). Very clean and thoroughly well appointed.
