Fish. swim, or just unwind enjoying the beautiful view from the covered porch. This waterfront hillside ranch is the perfect cozy retreat on 1/3 acre. 1 mile from a small town, population 504. 1 mile from site of first Indian massacre, Big Bottom Park. Close to the Wilds animal reserve, AEP Recreation lands, Historic Marietta on the Ohio River Blennerhasset Island, Zane Grey Museum in Zanesville, Fenton Glassware Museum and tours, Amish country, the Big Muskie, and more. All day trips within an hour or less. This scenic road is often used for bike tours. We are 1 mile from the boat ramp and lock, the last operating lock system in the U.S. Come to where there is always time for board games, picnics, campfires, deer watching and fishing. Where families can create memories that last a lifetime. This was grandpa's favorite fishing spot 70 years ago and has become the place for us to gather for summer fun for 70 years. We hope it will be the same for you.
Our family has gathered and fished along this river for 65 years. It is friendly Beautiful and peaceful. We bought this one in 1991 next to his parents cottage When we retired we knew there was no other place to be, so we purchased a larger home 1.4 mile down the road. We kept this one to share with family friends and others who love the outdoors. No freeways or mall but Historic Mariette and Zanesville 40 minutes away and Stockport 1 mile for all we need.
Judy Wallace purchased this house in 1991
I used to say we found Mayberry Rfd. since everyone here is friendly, neighborly and ready to help if needed. I often came here with our 12 year old son when I home schooled him and always felt safe alone
private but not isolated. 500 acre farm across the road weekend homes on either side.
This property provided the perfect solace we needed to escape the hectic city life. Judy and Ron were great hosts and even invited us to attend fun activities in the city of Stockport! They also were accommodating when our travel plan times did not happen accordingly. Even our dog, Lulu, greatly appreciated the calmness that the cottage provided. Thank you Judy and Ron! We hope to see you again soon!
Not worth the money ! very dirty not cleaned in months, cob webs every where, furniture smelled and was out dated, towels and liens smelled, dishes were dirty and greasy , old dog food on the floors, 2nd bathroom/shower was outside and in poor condition. stairs to the house were unsafe
NOT WORTH THE MONEY WE PAID, NOT CLEANED IN 6 MONTHS OR MORE , FURNITURE SMELLED AND WAS OUT DATED, LIENS SMELLED , DISHES WERE DIRTY AND GREASY , FLOORS DIRTY AND HAD OLD DOG FOOD ON THEM, DEAD BUGS AND DIRT ON FLOORS , 2ND BATHROOM OUTSIDE AND IN POOR CONDITION , STAIRS TO THE HOUSE NOT SAFE, AND THERE IS NOTHING AROUND THERE TO DO, WOULD NOT RECOMMEND !
We have stayed here two times in the last month and a half. Perfect location, great accommodations, and super people. The cabin is the perfect size and is equipped with anything you could possibly need, so we can pack light and still enjoy eating our meals at the cottage. Thanks for everything Judy and Ron. Looking forward to another stay soon. Doug and the gang!!
My family and I recently stayed at Cozy Cottage. First of all the name of the Cottage tells all....this is a quiet and comfortable cottage....we felt at home as soon as we arrived. The owners Judy & Ron....have the entire cottage stocked and ready....towels, linens, dishes....they really make you feel at home. The view of the Muskinghum River is amazing....we spent most of our time on our boat....or on the covered porch....enjoying the river. Also....the town of Stockport & nearby towns....are really like walking back in time....lots of local historical sites....and charm. Thanks..Judy & Ron we had a great time at Cozy Cottage....I can't wait to come back....and book a longer stay next time! Thanks again, Tonya
IN THIS VERY BUSY PACE THAT WE ALL LIVE IN ,, IT WAS A TREAT TO FIND A PLACE WHERE YOU COULD JUST STOP & FORGET ALL THAT FOR AWHILE.. IT WAS OUT OF THE WAY FROM NOISE , TRAFFIC AND PEOPLE.. WE ENJOYED THE QUITE AND JUST NOT DOING ANYTHING FOR AWHILE. ACCEPT FISH.. THE OWNERS ARE VERY NICE PEOPLE AND ACCOMMODATING.
