We love to watch otters playing in the grass and water right below the condo. Deer frequently wander down the beach and walk up the sidewalk right below our deck. There are a variety of birds and other wildlife. There is never a dull moment just enjoying the view or the activity in the bay. Miles of hiking and biking trails. The marina is an easy walk from the condo. You can rent small boats, kayaks and bikes here. There is a small store very well stocked with deli, wine and other necessary items. Pick oysters from the beach and dig for clams.
Excerpt from a very nice letter from one of our guests who authorized its use:
Just a quick word to let you know how much we enjoyed your condo. This was 27 years in a row that our friends and us have gone some where to celebrate the New Year. We've been every where between Victoria and Palm Springs. And, I wanted you to know that your condo was the best equipped of all. And, believe it or not, the weather cooperated. It rained during the night on our last night and that was all.
Our family thoroughly enjoyed spending time in this beautiful and spacious condo. It was a perfect retreat from our busy schedules. We especially enjoyed spending time on the deck, watching the wildlife and marine activity. It was a relaxing place to vacation for the six of us and a great place to be away from home with our dogs. The condo was equipped with everything we needed and more. Thank you.
Great place for a family with adult kids and a baby! Lot's of rooms and a gorgeous view. Facilities at the condo (pool, etc.) were also great! Lot's of fun. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you might need. We had one member of our party in an electric wheelchair and it was totally accessible to her (including the deck).
The reason for 4, rather than 5 stars, was that one of the bedrooms locked on its own the first time it was shut, with my nephew inside! The homeowners did not have a key to open it at the condo. The doors all had exterior locks for some reason, so it was quite difficult to "break into". Thankfully, the guys in our party were able to get the door open (after a very lengthy process). The homeowners did promptly respond to the phone call we made (very late at night) to explain the emergent situation we were in, which we appreciated. Otherwise, a wonderful stay! Plenty of room for 7 adults and a baby (and a doggie)! It is a beautiful area, make sure to head down to the marina (2 mins away) to catch the sunset!
Port Ludlow proved an excellent location - easy distance from Seattle, close to both Port Townsend and Kitsap Peninsula parks, Chimicum's Finn River Cidery (has a play area and beautiful grounds plus great cider) and positioned well for both rock and sand beach lovers, kayaking and soaking up water/mountain views from the deck. We enjoyed many close-by walks, (though there are too many stairs to make it stroller-friendly, the little-used roads at the resort were helpful), visiting deer, waterfall hike and the wonder of the living beach exposed by a negative low tide. The condo was very comfortable for us - 5 adults plus toddler and newborn with spacious bedrooms, plenty of bathrooms, appealing art/furniture and easy to use, well-stocked kitchen. I spent my home relaxing time on the deck with my chair aimed up-channel to the distant Cascades. The landlords were very easy to work with. We hope to go back again.
We thoroughly enjoyed the condo at Port Ludlow. There were 6 of us ... 4 adults and two teens! The view was beautiful and the adults spent as much time as possible looking out over the water, watching for otters and eagles. The condo is very comfortable. The bedrooms are large and the beds comfortable. The bathrooms are small and the showers in particular could use some updating, but that did not diminish our stay. The kitchen had everything we needed and then some. We used the gas grill several nights and enjoyed our evenings relaxing after busy days of enjoying the OP. Joan was easy to work with and the rental and access process simple. We are already talking about going back in a couple of years.
We loved the condo at Port Ludlow. My family felt this was a 5 star rental. The place was large and immaculate, the beds were so comfortable. The showers were great and had the big shower heads. The view was amazing and we enjoyed sitting on the deck at night watching the sun go down with a glass of wine. Joan was wonderful to work with, it was just a smooth process. We are definitely going to go back!
We spent a wonderful weekend at the condo in celebration of our mom's 90th birthday. Everything we needed was supplied, the location was great - close to shopping, golf, the beach. We found the place to be very clean and the two dogs that came along had a lot of fun swimming and playing on the beach. There were 8 of us and it wasn't crowded at all. It was nice to have a place where we all had queen or king beds, not futons, twins or bunk beds. Plenty of bathrooms as well. My mother had a wonderful weekend, loved the condo. We would definitely recommend it to anyone. Thank you so much!
