Secluded beach-front house - best spot near Todos! 2BR/2BA home away from it all; yet only 15 minutes from the enthralling town of Todos Santos. One hour north of Cabo, walk to Cerritos surfing/swimming beach. Check out San Pedrito point break from the upstairs master bedroom. Incomparable views***
Watch sea turtles hatch, whales breach, fish, surf, hike, dive, stargaze, or just watch sunsets from the hammock with a margarita in hand. Visit one of the outstanding art galleries or dine at great restaurants in Todos.

My wife and I met in college and have always shared a desire to broaden our vistas in every manner possible. We are attracted to the central American lifestyle of friendly, relaxed simple openness. Spending time there is the perfect antidote to our hectic lifestyle in San Diego with 3 young kids. (I have to admit that the amazing surf is a bonus) ;)
The Owner purchased this house in 2004
There's something magical about this area, and it draws a certain kind of person that is looking to take it down a notch. The antithesis to Las Vegas! The town has fantastic restaurants and an art presence but is still authentic. Add in the phenomenal weather, incredible beaches, (and surfing), sea life, and easy access from the states, and it just can't be beat.
While the town is fantastic, you honestly won't want to spend much time away from our hide out. Your private beach awaits with the possibility of fresh turtle tracks, or even hatchlings on their way to sea. The views are dynamite.
My son and I truly enjoyed Alhaja.
It sits on a dramatic massive beach
where we sat for hours on a fine veranda
overlooking a cactus garden leading down
to the surf. We surfed every day at Los Cerritos
only a short drive away. It is a quiet, comfortable
and secluded getaway; a classic Cabos hacienda!
If this tells you anything, we booked another week's stay the last day of our trip. This property has unobstructed ocean views with two nice patios, one shaded below and one above in the sun. We saw whales every day right from the porch and the cactus garden out front attracts all kinds of song birds. The kitchen is well-equipped with blender, coffee maker, pots, pans, wine glasses, etc. so we cooked there most of the time. We never saw the neighbors to the right. The neighbors to the left had a three-day party (until 3 AM the last night), but it was Easer week, which is a big party time there. The beach is perfect for long walks but is not swimmable. We tried, and the current was too strong. About 5-minutes' drive away is Cerritos Beach, which gets crowded but is great for swimming, boogie boarding, and surfing. The town of El Pescador is about 5-10 minutes drive and Todos Santos was about 15-20 minutes away. The roads are bumpy dirt roads but were fine in a basic rental car. You don't need 4WD. The house is super basic, not luxury at all (though the bed was really comfortable and the WIFI was good), but the location and views are amazing. The caretakers, Debbie and Randy, were great and even invited us to their house across the street for happy hour! It was just my husband and me, but this house would work well for two couples or a family of four. I wouldn't think it would be comfortable for any more people than that. I would recommend this house for anyone who doesn't need a super upscale, luxury place, who doesn't mind being a little out of the way, and is looking for spectacular ocean views.
We are already planning our next trip which hopefully includes staying at this beachfront beauty. Easy access to Cabo San Lucas and Todos Santos. The views from downstairs and upstairs are breathtaking.
We enjoyed our stay at Casa de Alhaja very much. It is a great house with a lovely view and perfect access to the beach. It is a peaceful place, secluded but not too isolated. It is clean and well stocked. Lots of pots and pans, cleaning supplies, towels etc. The manager, Debbie, lives right across the dirt road. She was informative, helpful, and meets you at the house to answer all questions and make suggestions. If you need anything, it is taken care of right away. Barb, the owner, was also available (prior to our trip) to answer our questions.
We appreciated the slow pace, friendly people and delicious food. We loved Baja Beans, Hierbabuena (farm to table restaurant), and Taqueria Los Poblanos right in Pescadero. A highlight was the dog surfing competition at Cerritos Beach...what fun! We ate in Todos Santos at Hotel California and at "Restaurant & Gallery "(not sure of the real name). Both wonderful in different ways. We were delighted by the artisan boutiques, art galleries, and spent an afternoon with artist Nanette Hayles at her home in Todos Santos doing collages. Very cool! We traveled to La Paz & visited the new whale museum, and walked along the Malecon. It borders the stunning Sea of Cortez. From there, we drove to Balandra beach, a very unique landscape with warm, turquoise water, surrounded by the brown desert hills. We relished lots of downtime, too. It was a memorable and lovely vacation.
We would recommend this type of house, setting, and vacation to people who like to be off the beaten path, who like a slower paced vacation, who are a bit adventurous and don't mind NOT HAVING the crowds, typical tourists amenities, and excitement of the bigger resort cities.
gorgeous , quiet beach! ! Older house with sunshaded outdoor patio downstairs and upstairs. There is a luxury home on one side and a "shack "on the other, classic Mexico! Older fixtures and plumbing , no hot water in master bath. Killer location for point break surfing a 5 minute drive away. Wifi was only modern distraction, a welcome reprieve. Fell asleep to surf break every night and woke up to it! House manager was easily available and very helpful.
This two bedroom house is great. We loved the well-stocked kitchen, in terms of pots, pans, utensils, plates etc. Some cooking supplies were at the house, and we left more. The two bedrooms are both a good size. The house is clean and well-maintained; some minor repair is still needed after the hurricane a year-plus ago. The house is perfectly situated on our favorite beach in the area. The view straight out to the ocean is fantastic, and it is so easy to walk to the beach. The surf was pretty rough, so we went a few minutes down the road to Cerritos where there is a life guard and safer water to swim in. Neighbors were very friendly, and we were well-served by Randy, Debbie and Barb.
Favorite eating spots, all within a few minutes drive: Marina's (memorable shrimp fajitas, the best sauce ever, I don't understand why Andres and family don't have more business), Los Poblanos (fabulous tacos - shrimp and carne asada were the best but fish was great too), Sunday morning at Baja Beans. Higher end eating at Hierba Buena (the vegetables are grown on the property and are incredible, I now have to work on perfecting my gaspacho to approach Marcos') and Rancho Pescadero (it's all good, but the chile rellenos have always been my favorite). Great view at El Mirador in Todos Santos, go at sunset.
We always enjoy visiting La Paz one day. Next time we will have to spend more time and go out on a boat.
We would absolutely recommend the property to friends and relatives, and hope to return for a longer visit. One week is just not enough.
Not sure where to start except to say that we (2 couples) had a fantastic stay. Barb made everything so easy and he house on the beach is more than we could have asked for. The house, the beach, the solitude, the views, the weather -- the entire package. Okay, so the access road driving in needs some grading, but that was the only complaint we had for our 6 night stay. Our little rental car did alright and we never felt we needed a 4-wheel drive, that's for certain. It was just a bit bumpy -- which added to the adventure.
Debbie and Randy (the local house managers) were exceptional in making our stay a 5-star vacation. Debbie always answered every question and Randy was there to solve every unknown. WONDERFUL PEOPLE! Local food, shopping and side-trips to Todos Santos, Cabo San Jose and Cabo San Lucas were excellent. And, there's the famous Hotel California!
So, in the end, here's what I say --- DON'T GO THERE! STAY AWAY! IT'S TERRIBLE! YOU WON'T LIKE THIS AT ALL!
That way, you won't fill up the rental calendar and prevent us from coming back... which we are. Already booked, so look for another report in March! We cannot wait!
