About this property

Melrose, Montana Mountain Cabin on 160 acres

Canyon Creek Cabin & Ranch

Enjoy a truly secluded cabin and remote experience in this beautiful Section of Melrose Montana. The cabin and land are nestled in the Beaverhead Deerlodge National Forest. The ranch offers hiking, camping, hunting and fishing. Bring your 4-wheel drive RV, ATV’s, horses or just enjoy the outdoors. There is no electrical power, just a generator plug-in for a small generator and no water so you will need to bring your own. The cabin has a great wood burning stove that keeps the cabin amazingly warm and snug! There is excellent wildlife on the property for hunting and the World Famous Big Hole River is close to the property for awesome trout fishing. You will need a Montana Hunting & Fishing License to hunt the property or fish the Big Hole River. Once you have a Montana Hunting License, the owner will give you a hunting permission note for hunting while you and on the ranch.

The 160-acre ranch has a one-bedroom cabin and one out-house. This is an amazing remote hunting property that offers the outdoor enthusiast ATV paths, horse trails and the ability to go right from the property into the Beaverhead National Forrest. The ranch is surrounded on all three sides by the Beaverhead National Forrest. The cabin is a great remote get away but you can still get cell coverage on top of the mountain to stay connected if needed.

Melrose, Montana is located just about 30 minutes from Dillion, Montana and about 30 minutes from Butte, Montana - the ranch offers convenience to great area attractions, such as skiing at Maverick Mountain in Beaverhead County, fishing in the Big Hole River or hunting on the property with access to the Beaverhead National Forest. Come get away to a different era or relax in the outdoors. Sit on the front porch or patio and feel the serenity of being within nature’s solitude. Imagine a time when things moved slower, life was less complicated, and we maintained a direct connection to nature. We offer a great location to read, write, observe nature or just relax.
If you are looking for a remote getaway by yourself, as a couple or with your entire family, Canyon Creek Mountain Cabin is an awesome experience.

Relaxing and Quiet
Mark is a great host. He gave us a tour of property, and checked on us to see if we had everything we needed. This is a quiet retreat. Worked very well for my family. Loved the hiking trails. We would come back for a stay.

Great property to get out and enjoy nature!
Hubby and I stayed at Mark's ranch for a few days over the holidays. It was exactly what we were hoping for! So peaceful......more stars than I have seen in a long time. We has so much fun riding around exploring in our golf cart with our pup. Even though the house has 2 huge covered decks (front and back) there is still tons of natural light. Beautiful views of wilderness out every window. Just a great overall vibe. Mark did a first class job getting his gun range compound set up. Very impressive. We were hoping to see some hogs, but they were crafty and stayed out of sight; saw lots of deer though.....they were in the backyard. I think it is just a matter of time and this place will be booked up!! Mark was an awesome host, he even answered my call on Christmas day!

Peace and quiet
The host was fantastic! Hunting, fishing, walking long walks, or just sitting you can do whatever is suitable for you. Comfortable and well appointed lodging. Our dog really enjoyed getting out and running. If you like country living you will love this.
