Our lake front home overlooks Lake Rescue and the surrounding mountains. It is five minutes from the town of Ludlow and the Okemo Ski Area as well as Jackson Gore. There are a canoe, kayak & row boat for your convenience. There is a beautiful dock in front over the water to access the lake and to relax. There is also a lake access across the road to Round Pond. This is a beautiful vacation away from home.
As a young girl my family vacationed on Lake Rescue every summer renting various cabins around the Lake. We would go every winter and stay at an A-Frame on Okemo mountain to ski. Then my dad purchased property the lake and built his family a dream home that we could enjoy for a lifetime. As time goes and many years of fond memories my parents no longer are able to make the trip from Maryland but we wish to hold on to what is so near and dear to our hearts. Enjoy!!!
Nancy O'Brien purchased this chalet in 1976
Our home sits on Benson Point overlooking Lake Rescue and Round Pond. Lakefront access to both lakes from the house. The decks around the house give you a comfortable place to sit and relax. This is a home for everyone to enjoy!
Provided for you use are kayaks, a canoe and a row boat. Summer fun is always swimming, boating, floating, Bon fires, etc
Winters were skiing, snowball fights, snowmobiling, sitting by the fire playing games after a long day on the slopes.
Come join the fun and have your own memories to cherish!
What a gem in the woods. Located at the far end of Lake Rescue in a small cove, the space was perfect for our needs. Rustic and very clean with all the emenities the five of us needed.
From daily water skiing (off our own private dock), canoeing, kayaking, swimming and yes, swinging off the nearby island rope, it was a blast. Nightly grilling and relaxing on the deck was tasty & relaxing.
Day trips into the town of Ludlow, up the road to Killington, Woodstock, Quechee (sp.) Gorge, driving through the parks or seeing cheese made at Crowley cheese factory made each day memorable.
We will definately be back to our new temporary home away from home.
The location is great and close to Okemo mtn. Unfortunately, the house was not ready for us or for renting in general in my opinion. There were mouse droppings all over the house, furniture, in kitchen appliances, and in the beds. Also, a bonus dead mouse in the kitchen. The floors were not vacuumed, bathrooms marginal, and there were crumbs on the counter. The stove and oven were dirty. We ended up cleaning/disinfecting the house(after going out to store and purchasing supplies) and beddings ourselves and sticking it out since we had already purchased our ski tickets. The owner was very apologetic and did give us a free extra night for our troubles but it was difficult to sleep the first few nights and not something we would do again. The twin bed mattresses in one bedroom are in poor condition and need to be replaced. The lighting throughout the house is poor and the house is generally pretty dark inside in the evening.
