Beautiful mountain setting. Cabin with charm and convenience to area attractions, shopping, hiking, skiing, snow tubing.
Rushing creek (120 creek front) and beautiful yard.
I am a native of Maggie Valley. I have always loved riding by your cabin dreaming that I would someday have a 'Rock' cabin to call my own. We were so excited to find your cabin available. We had a great time relaxing in your very cozy cabin. The kitchen is fabulous, all the comforts of home - you thought of every detail. Thanks for phone & wireless service. My son loved the creek, red bridge and throwing stones in the water. We enjoyed the peacefullness of Eagles Rest. Thank you, again.
What can we say except we absolutely love this place! It is so close to so much adventure and sightseeing, yet each time we entered that driveway it seemed we were in our own little world. Lovely decor, inviting, warm, peaceful and relaxing! This wonderful home was roomy and had all the amenities we needed, and more. It was spotless and very cozy and comfortable. We enjoyed it all - the barbecue house, rocking on the front porch, the beautiful landscape and flowers in bloom, the fire pit, the hot tub, and of course the constant sound of the rushing creek just soothes the soul. For two sisters and our husbands this was a little corner of heaven that made it a perfect getaway! Pat & Jim, we thank you, and we hope we can come back soon!
This was a very nice place for us. Older kids loved the loft area. Our baby had his own room and we had a large master suite. It is well appointed, has plenty of spices, cookware and towels. We stayed during spring break and had 60 degree days and snowy 7 degree days! The creek was fun to play in and to watch and listen to. The house sits close to the road, but there was not much traffic and all noise is drowned out by the creek sounds. It is conveniently located a few miles from the ski area and is close to Maggie Valley. Maggie Valley did not have much to offer this time of year, but this is a good base to visit Asheville/Great Smokies from. I would recommend staying here.
We wanted to experience as much of NC as we could in a week, and we got our wish. Being in Maggie Valley, we were never more than an hour from everything we wanted to do, except perhaps Biltmore, which wasn't much farther really. And it was always a beautiful welcome when we returned from our adventures.
The house and property are simply lovely and a delight for both kids and adults. We have four children, but there was plenty of room for everyone. My youngest couldn't stay away from the creek running through the yard, and we enjoyed smores and fireflies nearly every evening by the fire pit. The adults appreciated the hot tub to soak away tired muscles in the evening.
The owners were very nice and everything was well thought out and easy to find and use. We are hoping to return next year during the winter if we can, and see what the skiing and other winter activities are like!
This cottage was absolutely amazing. It truly felt like a home away from home. We were on a multigenerational family vacation, and everyone loved the cottage. The kitchen was fully equipped, including spices and condiments, which is not something you always find. The property was picture-perfect, with beautiful flowers, birds, chipmunks and bunnies. My favorite thing was to sit outside on the front porch in the early morning with a cup of coffee, and enjoy nature. We spent the week hiking the Smokys, so the hot tub most definitely came in handy to ease sore muscles in the evenings. Extremely close to the Blue Ridge Parkway, and close to amenities like restaurants, grocery stores, etc. We will definitely be coming back.
Great! To be highly recommended! I would definitely come back
We absolutely loved this clean, cozy cabin with comfortable beds and a Christian touch in a beautiful setting. The creek is amazing! Our only issue was the line to one of the toilets froze so it would not flush, but Pat was very responsive in letting me know that was the problem. It unfroze the next day. The hot tub was perfect. although a cold trek from tub to house! The washer and dryer are better than my set at home! The heaters in the bathrooms are a nice touch since the floors are so cold in the back part of the house. My only suggestion would be to upgrade the dishwasher at some point. It doesn't really dry the dishes, and not all of the dishes were perfectly clean. We'd love to come back in Spring or Summer and use the outdoor kitchen and enjoy sitting by the creek. Also, there are a lot of restaurants/attractions that are not open in Maggie Valley and Cherokee during the winter. Kind of seems like a ghost town. But Cataloochee was super crowded. My boys enjoyed the slopes anyway. My favorite adventure was the short hike to Mingo Falls in Cherokee. Just surprisingly beautiful! We highly recommend this cabin and Mingo Falls!
On Cataloochee mountain between skiing and tubing. Beautiful Setting with Rustic Elegance, 120' of Rushing Creek, Mountain View, Ski Slope, Snow Tubing, Shopping, Hiking, Biking, Screened Barbeque House, Lounge in the Hammock, Make S'Mores in Fire Pit, easy drive on I-40 to Asheville (Biltmore Estate), Cherokee, Blue Ridge Parkway, Smoky Mountain Railway. Or just rest by the creek and listen to the birds chirping, watch the chip monks and bunnies play. What memories are made of - you will want to stay for ever and ever, and live happily ever after.
Other Activities: shopping, kayaking, rock climbing, mini-golf
Ski: On State Highway just 2 miles from Catalooche Ski Area. Paved Road is maintained year round
