Great Family House. Bring Your Dog Too!

Bedrooms 3
Property type house

About the property

House, 3 Bedrooms + Sleeping Porch, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 8-10)

Relax in a lovely ocean-front home: watch the sun set over the ocean while sitting on the large deck,or in the living room with its picture windows,or from master bedroom. The fully fenced yard has a play structure that your children will love, although you may want to take them to Cook's Beach, which is just a mile north, or any of the other wonderful beaches nearby. Our house is 1 mile north of the town of Gualala, with its galleries, bookstore, spas, grocery stores and restaurants, and 3 miles north of the Sea Ranch golf course, with its beautiful views of the ocean. But you may not want to leave the house, with its cozy wood-burning stove, comfy home-made quilts and the constantly changing play of light and birds over the ocean.

PLEASE check our calendar and use the on line form at the right to make a request.

There are 3 bedrooms: the master bedroom is upstairs and has a queen bed, the other upstairs bedroom has 3 twin beds, and the downstairs bedroom has a queen bed. There are two bathrooms, one with a tub (complete with tub toys for the tots) and one with a shower. A single bed on a sleeping porch/entry and futon in the living room provide extra sleeping possibilities. We have satellite TV reception and WiFi, but you would probably rather be in the large hot tub overlooking the ocean, which at night, under the stars is far better than TV or internet!

The kitchen is small but very functional, with an electric stove and oven, toaster and microwave. The washer and dryer are in the hallway to the bathroom, convenient for washing those sandy clothes. The fenced yard and deck make this an ideal place for dogs, which are welcome, especialy Great Danes and Golden Retrievers.

About The Owner

We live in Oakland California and get to our Gualala home as often as possible, but with family, friends and work it is less than one week a month so we prefer to have the house occupied when we cannot be there.

The Owner purchased this house in 1999

Why The Owner chose North Coast California

We love the area. It has the advantages of seclusion but with beaches, restaurants, stores and galleries near by. The view of the ocean is spectacular in all seasons.

What makes this house unique

Looking at the stars at night from the hot tub. Watching the sunset from the deck. Taking our dog to the beach. Hiking in nearby Gualala Point park. Entertaining the grandkids on the swing set.

It was a fantastic stay

  • 5 of 5

The property has a spectacular ocean front view with waves crashing. Beautiful sunset. We were very comfortable with 5 people and 2 German shepherds. The deck and play area were great for the dogs to run around and play. There is cooks beach nearby and the Regional Park is close with miles of trials, many leading to beaches. The dogs and us loved the hiking at the park. Be prepared the kitchen is small but very functional. We managed to cook up great meals with supplies from the nearby well stocked grocery store. We would definitely stay at this property again. The only minor thing we could suggest is chaise lounges for the deck to lay back, relax and read.

Wonderful and relaxing vacation.

  • 5 of 5

Our family had a wonderful time at this great vacation home. We loved hanging out on the large deck and enjoyed the wonderful breathtaking views and listening to the crashing waves. The enclosed yard was great for our small bichon dog, she was happy running around. The house was well equipped. At nights you can see the stars and the moon over the ocean. The wifi was a plus to send pictures to family and friends. Overall it was totally enjoyable, peaceful and relaxing experience. We will certainly return for future vacations.

Fabulous House on the Bluff

  • 4 of 5

What a lovely home overlooking a cove on a bluff about 200 feet above the ocean. The view is spectacular. The deck was spot on with the large hot tub which was enjoyed by everyone. The entire yard was fenced in and the children loved the play yard with swings.

The house itself was very comfortable and could fit 10 with ease. We had 8 individuals stay, 3 were children and they used the 3 twin beds in the kids room. The rest of us bunked in the double beds, except my 17 yr. old grandson who liked the twin bed in the entry alcove.

We had no problems with the wood-burning stove for heat or any of the appliances. Everything was just perfect for a wonderful vacation with family. We could have had the dog, but decided to leave it home this time. I would definitely book this vacation home again!

A homey little post with a million dollar view!

  • 5 of 5

The property was so immediately comfortable (for 10 adults, no less),fully-stocked (kitchen and bath) and the view right outside the door so impressive that we spent our weekend just trying to take it all in. From nightly watching the sun set from the hot tub, to grilling the afternoon away from the large deck with all the drama and splendor of the California coast crashing away at the cliffs below, we found ourselves with little incentive to wander too far. A great place for kids, and dogs, too, with play structure and safe, fenced in yard. I would definitely stay here again, well worth the price and the trip.
