Phippsburg House Rental Photos and Description

5 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, sleeps 10

The Casco Bay Cottage is a beautifully, remodeled home with spacious lawns and gardens. There is a large deck with ocean views and a balcony off of two bedrooms on the second floor. The first floor of the house has hardwood floors and an open floor-plan. The living room has french doors that open up onto the spacious deck. There is a bedroom on the first floor right off of the living room with a queen size bed. There is a dining room and sitting area adjacent to the living room. The kitchen has everything you'd need with top of the line appliances and granite counter tops. A full bathroom completes the first floor. A washer and dryer is located in the garage off of the mud-room area. The second floor contains four bedrooms and a bathroom. The first bedroom has a skylight and a full size bed. The second bedroom has a queen bed and a sliding glass door that leads to a balcony. The third bedroom also has a queen bed and a glass door that leads to the balcony. The fourth bedroom also contains a full size bed

The Casco Bay Cottage: The location of the Caso Bay Cottage in West Point makes an ideal “home base” for any vacation you choose. For those who “need to get away from it all” you can spend your entire vacation in West Point. Guests can lazily relax on our decks overlooking the ocean, or perhaps take a short stroll to Cat Cove for swimming and shell collecting. Cat Cove is a great location to launch your kayaks for a day of exploring nearby harbors and islands. A short trail through the piney woods leads to a secluded rocky area that is fun to explore. Among the rocks are tide pools where some of the locals learned to swim. Look for sea creatures that are trapped in the pools! Bring your fishing poles for an early morning of fishing. The rocks are a good place to cast your line in. Be sure to keep a look out for eagles, loons, cormorants and seals! A Maine vacation must is fresh seafood for a lobster or clam bake. You can take a leisurely stroll down to the local lobster pound for the fresh catch of the day. New Dishwasher for 2013!!!

History: For those of you who enjoy more history and more activity, West Point and its surrounding areas provide just that. West Point is one of the oldest and scenic fishing villages in Maine. Many of the locals are descendants of the original fishermen who settled here. Close to West Point is historic Popham. Popham is one of the earliest English settlements during Colonial America being settled in 1607. Though it was unsuccessful it led to later settlement along the Maine coast. Popham State Beach is a beautiful 500 acre beach of white sand. It is definitely worth a visit. When the tide is out, you can walk across the beach to a nearby island. Fort Popham, from the Civil War years is close by and is ready to be explored.

The nearest city to West Point is Bath, “the City of Ships”. Maine’s first ships were built here in this area around 1607-1608. If you are interested in shipbuilding the Maritime Museum offers a glimpse into Maine’s boat building past.

Shopping and exploring: Quaint shops and restaurants make Bath a fun day trip. Boat rentals can be found in Bath for touring or fishing the Kennebec River. Golf courses are also in the area. To the north of Bath is Boothbay Harbor. It is another excellent day trip for vacationers! It has shops, restaurants and antiques. Whale watching, Puffin watching and lighthouse boating excursions are available at the wharf. Brunswick, another historic town nearby offers shopping, restaurants, Bowdoin College and the Joshua L. Chamberlain Museum. L.L.Bean’s flagship store is located south in Freeport. It is opened 24 hours a day and is a good place to go on rainy days. Freeport also has many name brand outlets. Portland is about an hour away and has many historic sites, shopping and great restaurants as well.

ALL NEW MATTRESSES AND NEW CARPET SPRING 2016!!!!!

After many request we now offer sea kayak rentals on site for exploring the coast and harbors. Both singles and tandems.

Fantastic week in Phippsburg

  • 5 of 5

We came to the area for a wedding at Sebasco and had a wonderful week. Plenty of room for everyone (3 couples and our mother). John and Bill were both fantastic to work with and all our questions and requests were answered promptly. The area is quiet and beautiful. Great time exploring Cat Cove, Totman Cove beach and trails, Head Beach, and the towns of Phippsburg and Bath. And the deck was great for our lounging dogs! Highly recommend.

Long Weekend in West Point

  • 5 of 5

This is a great house. Very clean, comfortable & easily accommodated 8. Short walk down the lane to Cat Cove & some of the most beautiful scenes offered in Maine. Frisbee on the side lawn. Reading, sun bathing & happy hour on the deck. John, the Owner, is attentive, a pleasure to work with but not intrusive.

Cozy and Relaxing with New England Charm

  • 4 of 5

House was super cute with lots of charm. Beds were super comfortable (not always the case with a rental). We did have a water issue but it was taken care of right away. The care taker was super efficient and helpful. We would stay here again for sure.

Wedding Weekend @ Casco Bay House

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I were invited to a wedding reception at a nearby resort and wanted to rent a house nearby, for friends and family to stay if needed. After checking out the area for a place with multiple bedrooms and at least two bathrooms, it was evident that this house would be a good fit for us. It even allowed dogs, so we brought along Moose so we wouldn't have to leave him at a kennel. John replied to us right away, and the rental process was a breeze. Needless to say, the house was a huge success and everyone who stayed, or just stopped by was amazed at the accommodations and all remarked how spacious it was and how comfortable the beds were. Perfect for our needs and we have told people about it and the beautiful area West Point is. Ate several times at Spinney's (loved it) and walked at Popham Beach. A great weekend and we would definitely return. Thanks John and Bill, both stopped by to introduce themselves, and chat and we felt well-taken care of!

Another great get away!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I love the house and location. We've been multiple times and the home is always in great condition, while the owner and property manager are very attentive should you ever need anything (we hardly do). Our small kids love exploring the area and it's a short drive to hermit island where my wife grew up camping every year.

We enjoy watching the sunrise over the ocean on the top deck. Will be back again!

Quaint, quiet, coastal Maine vacation - wonderful

  • 5 of 5

If you're looking for a picture perfect quaint, quiet coastal Maine community, this is the place to rent. The house is at the very end of a peninsula and we enjoyed every minute of the quiet, relaxing atmosphere. The house was very comfortable and equipped with everything we needed. Being from a large city, it took a few days to get used to leaving the windows open and the quiet surroundings - but it was a wonderful change of pace. We appreciated the maintenance man, Bill, introducing himself early on and making sure everything was as we expected it. We enjoyed the opportunity to explore and support local businesses and restaurants. We would definitely recommend renting this place to others.
