Adorable, one bedroom/one bath cottage located in private development just off of Buck Creek Road. Cottage is located on High Cotton Lane which is off of Buck Creek Road just past Chestnut Hill Retirement Village and soccer fields. Remodeled and updated recently, this cute little gem is the perfect place for a quiet weekend get a way. With warm, maple cabinetry and all new appliances you would be very comfortable in our little mountain retreat. Our stone fireplace is very cozy on cool morning and evenings. Our cottage is located just 2.8 miles from main street Highlands and a short 15 minute drive to Cashiers. Our top deck provides views of Shortoff Mountain.

I am a retired school teacher from south west Georgia. I purchased my home in Highlands to get a way from the sweltering heat of south west Georgia in the summer. I love Highlands and its cool summer temperatures. The elevation of 4, 118 feet guarantees a much cooler summer than I get in south Georgia.
The Owner purchased this house in 2007
Highlands is a great vacation destination with something for everyone. Highlands is a unique town in that you can be as casual as you want or as formal as you like. Highlands offers small town charm with New York sophistication. The shopkeepers are extremely nice and everyone is very friendly. The shops on main street offer everything from an ice cream cone to furniture to fur coats. The local book store is fantastic.
Finding a cottage in Highlands with central heat and air is unheard of at this price. All the other modern conveniences made our stay in this cottage very, very comfortable. This was our fourth visit to Highlands and we found this cottage to be the best value yet. The location was great for our trips to Highlands and Cashiers. The bed was comfortable and we loved the nice linens. The owner, Judy was very friendly and easy to deal with. We have recommended this great find to all of our friends that love Highlands also.
This cottage is a great find in the Highlands market. It is located very close to town and has everything you need for a great stay. The house has central heat and air and a cozy fireplace with gas logs. I had to do some work over the weekend and was appreciative of having a wifi network. I am very picky about cleanliness and found this home to be spotless. I also loved the fabulous bed linens. We enjoyed our stay so much we are planning to return this summer and also thinking of renting for a month next summer!
I would have to say that overall I was dissatisfied with my stay.
Not being able to drive up to the cabin, and having to make a few trips to and from my vehicle to haul my luggage, because the snow and ice had not been cleared properly from the driveway, was certainly inconvenient and was dangerous as well. Notably because I slipped and fell twice.
I understand that it snowed the previous day, but it was clear that someone had made feeble attempts at clearing the drive prior to my arrival… and it did not snow the day of my arrival. I contacted the owner the following day who assured me she'd have the person go back out and clear the driveway - never happened.
Secondly, you advertise the place as having WiFi - which you do not really have. Instead, you are attempting to tap into your son’s WiFi access in an adjacent unit. The connection was sporadic at best and most times non-existent… a guest should not have to wander around the unit I rented to try and find the right location to gain WiFi access.
WiFi was a very important aspect of being away as I worked at night and needed to access email / Internet wot work with my colleagues.
I would have provided a 3-star rating, but instead, because of the owner lack of attempt or concern in remedying these issues while I was there warrant only a 1-star rating.
If WiFi is important for your stay... then this is not the place for you.
This home was in a perfect location between Highlands and Cashiers. It was clean, cozy, and well maintained. Even with the wet, drizzly weather, the foliage and leaves were lovely. The home has lots of windows to enjoy the views. The rooftop seating area was an extra surprise, and hearing the nearby rushing steam was so enjoyable. The owner is quick to respond and pleasant.
We hope to return soon to enjoy High Cotton
Two of us were in Highlands for a wedding and loved our accommodations in this quaint little cottage. The surroundings were so peaceful and quiet, and we were only a short drive to town. The next-door neighbors (who live in their mountain home 6 months of the year) were very friendly and helpful about the surrounding area. The owner was very responsive and easy to work with. I highly recommend anyone visiting Highlands to stay here and I would definitely stay here again.
I had some business in Highlands, and looked for a good alternative to a hotel room. And this place was exactly that. It is a very Clean, Well Maintained and well stocked unit, perfect for a couple or small family.
Very near Highlands, it was simple to get food and enjoy the town. It is not a secluded location, being a part of a small group of other cabins. But all the neighbors were VERY friendly, and they invited me to join them for an evening get together on one of their porches.
If I am ever in the position of needing a space in Highlands, I will very definitely try to stay here again.
