Guestbook comments from the manager

We are pleased to reflect on our experience at the “Key West Fantasy” cottage in Bradenton Beach.

This past winter was our third consecutive three month stay at the cottage (January, February and March). We love the place! The location is ideal, in the center of the island with easy access to all three bridges to the mainland and only a very short walk to either the Gulf or Palma Sola Bay both of which are visible from the cottage. We feel very safe and secure in a neighborhood that is a nice mix of full time residents and several rental properties. Over the years we have become acquainted with many of the very friendly neighbors, so our annual visits feel much like “coming home”.

The cottage itself is quaint, cozy, clean and comfortable. The remodeling was tastefully done and blends well with the original design of the building. The kitchen has all the amenities, new appliances and a delightful corner dining area that is bright and airy from the many windows. The bathrooms have also been remodeled and are clean and well maintained. The convenience of an on site washer and dryer cannot be omitted.

The newly completed pool, deck and landscaping were a welcome surprise and are particularly useful and inviting. We appreciate the utility of the carport. The television cable and telephone service are also an added benefit. My wife in particular loves the free unlimited long distance telephone benefit since she can keep in touch with her 90 year old mother, sisters and granddaughter at home in Pennsylvania as well as transmitting her medical data to her heart doctors.

We plan to continue our annual visits to the cottage for as long as our health and other conditions permit. We fondly anticipate our return to Florida in January. It is truly our “home away from home”!

Hummmm may want to rethink this stay

  • 2 of 5

The house needs MAJOR updates! When you 1st walk in you're faced with the washer/dryer that is all rusted on the top! Then entering the 1st room is the kitchen-the blinds were discussing-STAINS! 😡 The master? Bedroom had a very saggy mattress -you can't even close the bathroom door! NO toilet paper was left for us in the entire house!!! It could definitely use a good sprucing up! NO BEACH CHAIRS OR COOLER! The only nice thing - was the location. For the amount of money we spent - I definitely expected better conditions!! They charged a hefty cleaning fee & we found it dirty- nail clippings on the floor & I went there on a vacation - I HAD to do laundry/sheets & towels? WTH WHY DID I PAY A CLEANING FEE? Was NOT happy

Owner's Response: Marianne, I am truly sorry that you did not enjoy your stay. It is extremely upsetting that you found the cottage in need of major updates as we recently had it completely painted and purchased wonderful new living room furniture. That reminds me that I need to update the photos of the living room so that our future guests can see it for themselves. Our onsite property manager assured me that there is always toilet paper left in the main hall closet but perhaps it was hidden behind all of the towels. I also asked him to make sure that the bathroom door closes even on the muggiest of days. I must say that I did mention, before your arrival, that we don't have beach chairs since we can get them already set up at the beach. Regarding no cooler, we have just always brought our own. I'm sorry that you found that so upsetting. The $120 cleaning fee is what we pay the one woman who cleans the cottage. We do ask our guests to help out by starting one load of towels or sheets just to begin the long process to prepare it for the next guest in four hours. Sincerely, Jan Smith

Cozy and comfortable with easy access to the beach & a lovely private pool!

  • 4 of 5

The cottage was a lovely place for my husband and I to relax and unwind for a week. We really enjoyed the pool and patio in the backyard. It was not a large pool but it was perfect for us and we often swam in the morning and late afternoon. The house had all the amenities we needed and we cooked most of our dinners there having the cookware we needed and a grill to use. The cottage was a quick walk to the beach which was beautiful. The water provided some waves and was just the right temperature. Great for a dip after a long walk on the beach! There were not any beach chairs to use but an ample supply of beach towels was provided at the house. We also were within walking distance to several restaurants. There is a great breakfast restaurant Peaches that we highly recommend! Anna Maria Island is a lovely spot for a vacation and we look forward to bringing our daughter next time we visit!

Loved the pool, proximity to the beach, and overall location!!!

  • 5 of 5

We booked this cute little house for a family vacation with our 2 daughters that was 17 years or so in the making . We were joined by our soon to be 5 year old grandson. We were there to make memories and relax and this house helped us to accomplish that goal. For the money we were more than pleased with the house. The beach was just minutes away and we loved the pool and the privacy it offered. We met Andy, the property manager and he was great!! He lives next door and wanted to make sure we had everything we needed. He recommended great restaurants right down the road close enough to walk if that is what you like to do.

Quaint, convenient, great!

Great location! Easy to walk to restaurants and beach. Plenty of room. Really nice to be in a house instead of a hotel. I will look to stay here again. Property manager mentioned it is scheduled to upgrade furniture to new.

Amazing!!!!

  • 5 of 5

Love love love this little bungalow. 3 minute walk to the beach (from front door to water). Very quiet neighborhood. Incredible pool. Lots to do and see on the island. Well equipped kitchen. Plenty of towels. Management was awesome. Even mailed me items I forgetfully left behind. Oh, and let's not forget the most beautiful water and sand! Lovely! Will definitely be back!

Home away from home

  • 5 of 5

Another for the Fourth of July at AMI and had a wonderful time here. The house has everything one might need. Well supplied kitchen but could use a crockpot I love to cook, very nice pool area in yard, good size car port for the boat, good size bedrooms. All together family had a very nice time here with friend that we're staying down from us came to eat dinner together. Only thing I would have to say is the half bathroom is very cramp but made it work.
