Historic Farmhouse and Cabin Beautifully Renovated

Bedrooms 5
Half Baths1
Property type farmhouse
Minimum Stay nights

About the property

5 Bedrooms + Detached Unit, 5.5 Baths (Sleeps 14-21)

Our property is a beautifully restored and expanded farmhouse and cabin, located on scenic Route 6 in northwestern Pennsylvania. The 5-bedroom, 5 1/2 bath home sets on a working horse farm that covers more than 100 acres. We have a 1.5 mile finished trail, a 3 acre lake and sledding hill. Look up our web site at Galloping Inn.

We rebuilt this place as a labor of love, with the vision of creating an ideal destination for social getaways, unique recreation and enjoyment of the environment. It’s really very special. The farmhouse dates back to the mid 1850's and is one of the oldest structures in the area. When we restored it, we did so with an eye for preservation, style and modern comfort.

If you feel like doing some exploring, there are lots of things to do nearby. Within a 30 minute drive you can enjoy the waters of the Allegheny Reservoir, visit the charm of Chautauqua, or enjoy golfing the one of many great courses.

Give us a call and we’ll tell you more about the place

People have come here for many years to escape their everyday routine and to have a stress free experience. It’s a freestanding destination, meaning you can do just about anything you want. The location is very private and there is lots of space so if you share the place with other friends or families, you’ll have plenty of room to yourself. You can play some music, go for a hike, explore the nearby foothills, streams and lakes, cook a big meal, ride horses, whatever makes you happy. The thing everyone seems to appreciate most is the fresh air, freedom and comfortable warmth highlighted by our selection of top quality bedding.

The kitchen is awesome. Newly remodeled with all new appliances and features a large granite table that seats ten.

We built a bar in the great room which is adjacent to the kitchen. There is an entertainment room upstairs which is a perfect place for the kids to watch movies (someone was really thinking there). There are two large decks off the back of the house where you can take in the evening sun. And the back lawn is large enough for your choice of outdoor games.

Getaway. From It All.

  • 5 of 5

If you ever wanted to getaway and leave all the weekday worries behind this is the place. We took our two teenage girls and new puppy and enjoyed being out in nature, with all kinds of wildlife, the horses, the fresh air and the most stars you'll ever see. Even got a look at the milky way! Girls went fishing in the on-site lake, we went on a trail ride on well trained horses (great for beginners), hiked in a fern carpeted forest, and stayed warm around a bonfire Saturday night. You can't go wrong here. Looking forward to our next stay.

Wonderful Birthday Celebration!

  • 5 of 5

The Galloping Inn provided a relaxing and peaceful setting for a birthday celebration weekend. We rented the main house, suite, and cabin. The Inn has been beautifully renovated while still maintaining the charm of its age. The photos do not do the Inn justice. The property is truly serene. Families from several areas including Pittsburgh, Cleveland, NYC and Harrisburg enjoyed getting away from it all. Everyone we came in contact with from the owners to the horse trainers (kids enjoyed a hayride) were great. We look forward to returning!

Beautiful Property, Owner goes above and beyond!"

  • 5 of 5

The home was large enough for our 8 person family plus our friends that we were staying with to "meet in the middle". The kids loved playing outside in the backyard and petting the horses. The owner was quick to return our call when one of our kids locked us out of the additional room on the back of the home without us knowing the code, and she went above and beyond to mail us an accidentally left behind lovey of my son's. Our friends enjoyed a trail ride with the horse trainer (we opted out due to the cost), and my husband and I enjoyed running the nature trail loop for several workouts. Wal-mart & Dairy Queen are close enough for supplies for the brood too! We would recommend Galloping Inn for a family gathering, family/friend retreat, etc. I can't even begin to think of how beautiful this area must be at the peak of color season in the fall!

Relaxing beautiful rental

  • 5 of 5

We just spent a weekend at Galloping inn and had a wonderful time. The house was absolutely perfect. I would definitely recommend this as a place to stay to anyone visiting the area and we are already looking at the calender to plan a trip again and definitely we would like to come back again in the fall. The kitchen is great and you can't help but relax by the fireplace. The owners are very responsive to questions and a pleasure to work with. It was too muddy to be able to go riding but hopefully we can schedule for next time.

I brought my youth group up for a few days and they had an incredible time. We took advantage of the hayride and horseback riding. The house and cabin are beautiful and we will certainly be back.
