The Post n Beam Carriage House was awesome. It was RIGHT in downtown Woodstock, walking distance from the town square, great restaurants, cool shops, and an awesome Flea Market.
Judy was wonderful, meeting us at the house with the keys, and being warm and gracious from the get go. She gave us the inside scoop on the best things to do in town, gave us a hug, and left us to explore the amazing hamlet of Woodstock.
After trips to the stream, Big Deep, with our puppy who swam in circles, and drives around the hills and walks around town, my wife and I are looking for our own little slice of Woodstock for the future.
I can't say enough about how wonderful the experience truly was.
We visited the house for a college get together and the size of the home and location were perfect! We loved all the little knick knacks and the home has everything you need, very comfortable and had AC! (A must, as a heat wave was happening) Well done Judy and thank you for being so accommodating~ We will def. be back...next time I will bring my daughters for a chance to experience the wonderful community of Woodstock. Truly a gem in the Catskills, so much to do...our only wish was 1 more day to explore!! Thank you again for sharing your lovely home, all pics and description of home was 100% spot on!
We stayed with our friends at the Carriage House over the weekend and totally loved it! It is a charming two level apartment that is right in the center of Woodstock just steps away from all the great restaurants and shops of Town. Once you get there you literally never have to use your car again!
The bright, airy upstairs has soaring ceilings, large open kitchen and eating nook, a queen size bed alcove and full bath. The downstairs has the main living area with a large sectional sofa and big screen TV and another full bath. There is wi-fi and dish TV access. In addition there is a cute second bedroom so that two couples can easily share the space and have enough privacy.
Tucked away in the back of the property the Carriage House has a beautiful fenced private garden and outdoor space with grill, seating area and lounges.
We had so much fun sipping morning coffee and croissants outside each morning on these first days of spring! BTW, you can walk to Bread Alone for breakfast!
We hung out in Town on Sunday to see the drumming circle where locals get together and drum and dance. It is pretty wild. A must see. We rated our stay a five star and can’t wait to return.
I stayed together with my wife , daughter and two dogs in the carriage house in Woodstock.
We stayed for three weeks!
The house was super clean and well maintained, it looks just like the pictures that are posted on the website!
Although we where in Woodstock in the down season the carriage house gave us all the comfort and needs to have a great time for the days that it was cold outside.
When I posted a picture of the upstairs on Instagram , some of my relatives wrote as a comment that they had actually already stayed there as well.
Judy and her assistant Liz are easy to talk to and very friendly, you can call them whenever is needed while staying and they will make sure you have everything you need.
It is steps from "the Garden Cafe" , "the Shindig" and "Oriole 9" so we where eating great food whenever we wanted.
Also the organic supermarket "Sunflower" is very close so we cooked a lot in the fully equipped kitchen.
The only down side to the house is that it is near the Woodstock cemetery which was a little scary during the full moon (if you are sensitive to that sort of thing) but if you choose not to walk into that direction and you walk the other way then you are on the main street within 30 seconds.
All by all the carriage house was exactly right for us.
We had a great experience and I rank it 5 stars with ease!
We returned to the Carriage House for the second time and had another great stay. The house is very clean and comfortable and the in-town location can't be beat. We hope to come back again next year. Thanks, Judy!
We booked this property for one night only and Judy was nice enough to accommodate us last minute despite the 2 nights policy.
The house is well located, within walking distance of all the restaurants, shops, galleries, and life Woodstock has to offer. There are plenty of books to describe what to do and where to go while staying there, which was very helpful.
The place was clean, cozy and well appointed. The ceiling is a bit low downstairs but upstairs the space is bright and well lit. The garden is very private and perfect to relax with a glass of wine or enjoy a book after walking around in town. The flowers were really nice.
Now this is not a true 2 bedroom place, there is a living room, a bedroom and a bathroom downstairs, and what is called an alcove studio upstairs, with the kitchen and dining table in the same room as the bed (although the bed is in an alcove on the side). The bathroom is separate. It was not much of an issue for us as we were only 2 and we grilled some meat and ate outside, but people should be aware that privacy can be an issue.
Another thing, this place is described as luxurious, and while it’s well furnished and comfortable, I wouldn’t use the adjective luxurious to describe the place, as it is still rustic (we had a limited ants invasion in the kitchen). Cozy would be more appropriate.
We had a wonderful long weekend at the Carriage House. It was cozy, clean and had everything we needed. Best of all, the house is steps away from town yet it's still very quiet at night. I've stayed at other properties in Woodstock and this was my favorite one yet. Can't wait to come back. Thanks, Judy!
