Large and relaxing family rental with incredible direct ocean and inlet views. Situated at the very northern end of Barnegat Light, this home sleeps 11, and has a reversed living floor plan. Downstairs has 4 bedrooms and 1.5 baths. 2 of the bedrooms face the ocean, and have sliding glass doors to decks. 2 downstairs bedrooms have 2 twin beds, one has bunk beds with a trundle, and one has a queen bed. Upstairs is a large master bedroom with a king bed and en-suite bathroom. Also upstairs is the open plan living room, dining room and kitchen. Can be rented with the house next door (240054) for large family groups! We do not rent to prom groups or groups under the age of 25.
We have rented vacation homes many times, and this was by far our best experience. The owners were incredibly helpful in providing overview information on the house/area and were generous with their time answering questions and making sure we had what we needed. The home was thoughtfully outfitted...what a treat to have a Mac & WiFi, lots for kids to do, as well as a kitchen that was ready for anything.
We were amazed by the sweeping views and best possible location. We were relieved to find that it was a comfortable house - nice and clean and not a museum where we were afraid to touch things or sit on the furniture. We loved watching the shooting stars at night from the roof deck & being able to allow the kids to ride their bikes to get ice cream and have some independence. Living at this home was a pleasure and just easy. We hope to return!
We had a fantastic time - awesome, older home with lots of room for family and friends. Loved the location with beautiful views out over the dunes. Beach trolley stops right in front so super easy to get back and forth to the beach and it in walking distance to all BL has to offer. We would definitely recommend this property for those who love homes with an older feel; it's definitely high on our list of places to come back to.
From the moment we walked in, we felt right at home at this place. The house isn't fancy, but who needs fancy on a summer beach vacation with the kids and grandkids? The house is clean, the beds are comfortable and the kitchen is well equipped. You can't beat the location or find a better summer rental for a large extended family. The "upside down" floor plan, with most of the bedrooms on the groundfloor and the main living areas upstairs really works, and maximizes the views of the ocean. Whether sitting down for a meal in the spacious greatroom, or out on the big deck, you feel surrounded by the Atlantic. We had a total ball during our week in Barnegat Light, walking through the dunes to the jetty in the morning, hitting the beach every day, and after the wee ones were tucked in their beds, catching the shooting star show on the rooftop deck. We loved it!

We had a terrific week at this beach house. We went to the beach every day, and most days there were just a handful of other people within sight. We walked on the jetties and watched people fishing, climbed the lighthouse, and played miniature golf. The house has everything you would ever need for a great vacation, right down to the sun lotion. We ate all our meals sitting outside on the deck right off the kitchen, with beautiful views of the water. We bought fresh swordfish at a local fish market, marinated it, and cooked it on the propane barbecue grill provided. Delicious! Caveat for those new to the area: bring cash! The fish market, grocery stores, and most restaurants are "Cash Only" -- they don't take credit cards.
This was our second stay at this location. WE are always wowwed on our arrival by the beautiful welcoming panaramic view from the main living quarters on the second floor. The rustic beach and bay views are unbeatable. We savored the last of the day with our friends on the upperdeck, soaking up the last bits of sun. Then, I rose early to watch the sun rise up out of the ocean from the main wrap around deck. Even the downstairs deck was good for those who cannot take too much sun. The location is perfect. THere is a small Deli down the block with in walking distance. THe beach, lighthouse and bay are also just a short walk (or drive).
There is ample room for dining- inside and out on decks, and plenty of sleeping and bathing accomadations. The kitchen is well equipped. THere are lots of interesting books and games. The WiFi and washer/ dryer are always a plus. And most important, the manager for the property is nearby and responsive. We discovered the dining light wasn't working, and Paul was over within the hour to check it out and replace it.
Thank you for sharing this property with us. We did enjoy our stay, and hope to return again.
There were 12 of us and a toddler. The house felt great and we had plenty of space. We loved the view of the ocean and greenery. Becky was helpful and friendly. I recommend you rent this house.
Barnegat Light is a quiet, peaceful town at the very northern end of Long Beach Island. Less commercial than other parts of the Island, it is nonetheless self-sufficient, with its own fish market, grocery store, restaurants and charming antique shops. Famous for its lighthouse, 'Old Barney,' its beautiful architecture, including some houses from the 1800's, as well as its gorgeous, wide beaches, Barnegat Light is the perfect place for a family vacation. Offering great biking, fishing, boating and of course swimming and surfing means there's something for everyone!
The house is located 5 blocks from the lifeguard beach at 9th street. The easiest and quickest way to get there is on the free tram that takes you right down there! It's a 5 minute walk from the house to Barnegat Light - the historic lighthouse, and from the inlet and jetty. The house is a block away from The Inlet Deli, and a few more blocks takes you to Mustache Bill's diner, and all the other great spots in town!
