It looks beautiful, picture postcard but it is very tired looking inside.
We enjoyed staying at the cottage and the garden was lovely and we ate fresh plums every morning from one of the fruit trees. However, the equipment and fabric provided really does need attention.
i) Light switches at the opposite side of the kitchen to the entrance made all the more challenging by the non functional hallway light, so caution needed to enter the house in the dark.
ii) Two electrical plugs showing bare wires- one on the coffee maker and the other on the CD player. The latter plug also had a loose pin that could be dangerous.
iii) Advertised as having wifi, which indeed it does, but you need to know that it simply isn't capable of much. We could barely get it to send messages. That may be the way things are in that area but better to know that in advance.
iv) Cleanliness was an issue. Hairs in the bathroom sink when we arrived, dead wasps on a bedroom windowsill, a child's cuddly toy at the end of a bed, a filthy microwave and unclean fridge. We did wonder who had actually declared the property hygienically clean as the piece of paper across the toilet bowl proclaimed. When we left it was so much cleaner than when we arrived.
v) Having cleaned the microwave we discovered that it didn't actually work anyway. Just as well we didn't need to use it.
vi) Instructions for the key safe were not very helpful. It didn't say where the safe was located. We hunted round the house for several minutes before discovering it on the back of a fence.
