We are 3 old friends who meet up every year for a little get-away and we struck gold this year! We spent 3 nights at Jane's house and couldn't be happier with the accommodations. We each had a bedroom, with comfortable beds and interesting art work. We fixed breakfast and one dinner in the well equipped kitchen and talked way into the night in the comfy living room.
Jane was a charming host and we'll definitely recommend her apartment to friends.
Our family, including two adult daughters and 13 month old granddaughter traveled to MA for a family wedding. We wanted accommodations that would allow our granddaughter to nap without everyone having to take one, as we would have in a hotel room. This apartment was perfect. As others have written, the property is clean and the decor inviting. The kitchen is well equipped and we cooked simple meals nightly, buying fresh produce at local farmers' markets.
Jane welcomed us when we arrived (nearly three hours earlier than expected), gave us a tour of the grounds and the apartment, and even provided a crib, high chair, and a gate for our granddaughter. She left written information in the apartment to answer what might be called FAQs and answered any questions we had as well.
We walked the grounds on several occasions, enjoying the landscaping and the view of the golf course.
We visited the Norman Rockwell Museum, Hyde Park, The Mount and the home of Martin Van Buren while in the area.
We would definitely recommend this property to friends or relatives visiting the area, and if we ever return to MA, we'll return here.
We returned this week from a wonderful stay in this lovely apartment, which felt like a little home away from home.
The owner, Jane, was extremely friendly and accommodating and even installed a stair gate for my children when I enquired as to whether she had one in place.
The apartment is so cozy and well equipped that it really feels like a home. It was super clean and well maintained and we were able to enjoy the beautiful grounds that it sits in. The pool was very tempting but sadly we didn't have time to make use of it.
The apartment is conveniently located near the center of Stockbridge and there are many many activities nearby. We went to Hancock Shaker Village, enjoyed fishing on the Ashuwillticook Trail, picked apples in a local orchard, swam in one of the gorgeous Berkshires lakes and did some sale shopping at the Lee premium outlets.
In summary, it was a fabulous trip and if time permits, we would love to go back. Would thoroughly recommend, thanks Jane!
We were 3 adult family members traveling together. We were looking for something other than a hotel suite with a king bed and a sofa bed to meet our needs. This apartment allowed each of us to have her/his own bed and bedroom as well as a sitting room where we could spend time together. It is part of a historic old house -- quaint, but cozy, clean, quiet and convenient. WiFi was a much appreciated perk. Jane and her staff were very friendly and helpful.
Wish we had planned more time to enjoy the beautifully cared for grounds around the house, but we were kept busy all week taking in the interesting museums, theaters, restaurants and historical sites in the area.
What is not to love about this place? The location is perfect, just a short walk into town. The apartment is very clean and cozy. 3 bedrooms up, downstairs kitchen, bath, living room and study. The kitchen is especially well equipped for cooking. Jane, the owner, is completely hospitable and gracious. The grounds are lovely. A great place to retreat, write, think, sightsee. A short jaunt from Kripalu. I'm already going back next year.
We spent a week in this beautiful house. In fact it is an independent house which is part of a bigger house. The location is excellent for traveling the Berkshires and for activities there.
The house is fully and generously equipped, you have only to buy fresh supplies.
It feels home with a lot of beautiful hand picked furniture, pictures, lamps and flower pots.
There is a large size pool but it was too cold for it.
I will return there and warmly recommend the place to my friends.
The Berkshires are rich in scenic beauty and cultural offerings. Summer hiking and swimming in lakes and ponds. Winter skiing and snowshoeing. Cultural offerings include the Tanglewood Music Festival, Jacob's Pillow Dance. Nearby theater: Shakespeare and C., Williamstown Summer Theater and Berkshire Theater Festival, also two theaters in Pittsfield. Historic houses: Ventford Hall, The Mount and Naumkeag open to the public with scheduled lectures and events. For Movies, the Triplex in Gt. Barrington. Many restaurants. Two large health spas -- Kripalu and Canyon Ranch in Lenox. Art Museums: The Clark, Wmstown, Mass Moca in North Adams.
Other Activities: Relaxing. Enjoying cultural activities, good restaurants
