About Elaine Malloy

Maryann and I live on 4th Avenue, just two doors down from The Berkeley Beach House. She is the owner of Mise en Place, one of Tampa's finest restaurants; I'm a corporate lawyer, specializing in the representation of private equity funds.

Elaine Malloy purchased this house in 2008

Why Elaine Malloy chose St Pete Beach

When the property was listed for sale, we viewed it as an opportunity to restore a great old beach house, to preserve our neighborhood's charm and village character, and to share the magnificent Pass a Grille beach experience with family and friends (some of whom we hadn't met yet).

What makes this house unique

Berkeley Beach House is located just steps from the beach, at the very quiet southern end of the peninsula but only four blocks from Pass a Grille's lively 8th Avenue shopping/restaurant district. For those looking for more nightlife, the bars and restaurants of the many beach communities are minutes away on Gulf Boulevard and beautiful downtown St. Petersburg is just a short (10 minute) drive.

Was not happy!!!!!

  • 1 of 5

Very quaint little place to stay… Except only two little air-conditioners so the kitchen and the bathroom is very hot!!!!!! When we got there my husband and my daughter's friend had to fix the breaker so we can have lights because when I plugged in to blow dry my hair I blew a fuse!!!!! Also I found the owner to be very rude !!!!! when you're renting from somebody I think you should be a little nicer!!!!! Told her about the kitchen and the bathroom being very hot and she told me she never had a complaint which I know for fact that is not true because I talk to somebody else who stayed there!!!!

Steps from the beach!

This was our first time to at Pete beach and we will be back for sure! This suite was perfect for me and my husband. We had plenty of room for the two of us and all the accommodations that you would need. Elaine was a pleasure to worm with. Until next time!

Absolutely perfect beach house

  • 5 of 5

We had such a relaxing and memorable stay in the Mango Suite! We're a young family with a toddler, and the set-up was perfect for us - steps away from the beach, as well as a cute ice cream shop, restaurants, and more. We only used a car twice - to drive from the airport to the beach house and to drive back to the airport at the end of the trip! The convenience and walk-ability were awesome with a small child. The house was extremely comfortable, quiet, and well-equipped. Beach toys, umbrella, and beach towels were provided - another huge convenience. Elaine was also nice enough to leave us a Pack N Play and a booster seat - less for us to have to pack! No complaints at all... just trying to figure out when we can come back!

Great, fun location!

  • 4 of 5

We spent a few days in the one-bedroom suite and it was really great. Just steps from the Gulf of Mexico, restaurants, and the pet-friendly beach. We went out to eat and also ate right out front on the patio table, which was fun. Walks in the morning were super. St. Pete Beach and Pass a Grille are gorgeous! The place is very clean and Elaine could not be more helpful and pleasant. A bonus -- parking was right out front, so even in busy times, you've got a spot. I hope we will get back!

Perfect family time

  • 5 of 5

Exactly 175 steps to the beach. We just ended our stay at Berkeley Beach House and couldn't be happier with our week in Pass A Grille. So enjoyed having a full kitchen with grill to cook in rather than eating out every night. The owners have thought of everything to make the stay perfect without a worry. Very clean, comfortable and quiet. Will be booking again for next year.

Wonderful get away

  • 5 of 5

Everything I needed was provided in the 1 bedroom suite, right down to the beach umbrella and chairs. I would definitely stay again, and it's so nice to have the extra space to stretch out in as opposed to staying in a hotel room. Very clean, and with both a/c and effective space heaters for temp control. Easy parking, and a really quiet block, in easy walking distance to 8th Street, and a stone's throw from the beach.
