Great environment. Comfortable House. We had a great excursion

  • 4 of 5

It was Christmas week. LOTS of snow. The house has a large living space to accommodate family groups. We'd love to try it during the summer, use the patio, grounds. Mike lives just next door. He's very kind, hospitable. There are some quirks, but nothing we can't live with. My one wish is that the house had a fireplace. I missed that....

Unique home on Yellowstone's doorstep

  • 5 of 5

Staying at AC Inn, with it's hand-crafted details and amenities, was a highlight of our visit to Yellowstone. I feel like we had a taste of life in Montana, rather than just another hotel room.

A welcome respite from Yellowstone crowds, it has a huge living and kitchen area, and the gorgeous timber king bed upstairs is almost too comfy..!

Nothing was too much bother for the host, Mike. We decided to make use of the firepit and he kindly chopped a barrow full of wood for us, even though he was in his way out to an event.

Thank You!

Unique home

  • 4 of 5

We had a great time here. The home is well provisioned and had all we could ever need to relax after long days in Yellowstone. Mike lives just next door and was available for anything we needed without being intrusive. He is a very friendly guy. He and his dad built this home and it features numerous huge logs throughout it. Beautiful. That being said I must mention the stairs to the bedrooms. The loft room features an amazing staircase but it is very steep and very slick. After the first night I decided to sleep in the living room because my feet literally slipped out from under me on the way down. We mentioned the slickness to Mike and suggested some kind of tread. The stairway down to the basement is a spiral and it also hard to get down. If you have older folks, like we are, small children or an older dog (as we do) it is very hard to get up and down the stairs and could impact your stay. Mike is still working on the home so I am sure he will address these problems.

It was very clean and well-maintained. Expected the bedrooms to be on the same level.

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our stay overall. The house was clean and well-maintained. The loft was a comfortable bedroom, although the bathroom was down one level. The other 2 bedrooms were in the basement and they were okay but a bit dark and musty.

The kitchen was very nice and well-stocked except there were only 4 dinner knives we used between 6 people. The washer and dryer were nice and easy to use, and the family room was very comfortable.

Best Vrbo we have stayed in!

  • 5 of 5

Mel and Mike have a beautiful home they are willing to share with other families visiting Yellowstone. Next to rodeo and 7 miles from W. Yellowstone. Comfortable and roomy! I would say much more but don't want anyone to take my week next year!

Yellowstone Vacation

  • 5 of 5

My family and I stayed here for 3 nights during our recent Yellowstone vacation. We loved the house, and the boys (ages 9 & 15) loved sleeping in the loft area. Awesome views from the floor to ceiling windows in the great room. Note that the bedrooms are in the basement with the exception of the loft. I ended up sleeping in the loft with my boys because they didn't want to be that far away from me in an unfamiliar place. It wasn't a huge issue since there were only 4 people in our group. The owner was doing some work on the house while we were there and was very friendly. The house location was great...convenient to West Yellowstone without having to deal with the crowds. It was so nice to come back to an actual house after a long day in the park instead of a cramped hotel room. I would definitely stay here again if we come back to the area!

Owner's Response: Thank you for submitting a review of our rental property. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay. We agree that if you are looking for a home away from home then this is the place for you. So much nicer and roomier than a hotel room. Thanks again for staying with us.
