Mel and Mike have a beautiful home they are willing to share with other families visiting Yellowstone. Next to rodeo and 7 miles from W. Yellowstone. Comfortable and roomy! I would say much more but don't want anyone to take my week next year!
My family and I stayed here for 3 nights during our recent Yellowstone vacation. We loved the house, and the boys (ages 9 & 15) loved sleeping in the loft area. Awesome views from the floor to ceiling windows in the great room. Note that the bedrooms are in the basement with the exception of the loft. I ended up sleeping in the loft with my boys because they didn't want to be that far away from me in an unfamiliar place. It wasn't a huge issue since there were only 4 people in our group. The owner was doing some work on the house while we were there and was very friendly. The house location was great...convenient to West Yellowstone without having to deal with the crowds. It was so nice to come back to an actual house after a long day in the park instead of a cramped hotel room. I would definitely stay here again if we come back to the area!
Great location close to the town of West Yellowstone without all the busyness of the little town. The cabin was very clean and well stocked. Cozy beds, linens, and towels. Spent most of our time in the park and surrounding areas so didn't really take advantage of the big TV, patio, and stocked kitchen. Mike made sure we had all that we needed and told us to call if we had any issues, which we didn't. I think it's important to note for families with young kids that 2 of the bedrooms are in the basement with a bathroom and the cool wooden spiral staircase was just fine for our 9 and 11 year old but it would be difficult for a little tyke. The staircase does have the option to close it off. Plus, the main bedroom with the King bed and additional Queen bed is in a loft which is open to the living room below. Again, no issues for us but this would never have worked for us if our kids were little still. Kids loved the Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center in West Yellowstone. Safe way to see many bears and wolves up close and learn about them.
We recently spent a week visiting Yellowstone National Park and could not have chosen a better location to use as our home base; only 7 miles to the park's west entrance. The beautiful log cabin style home was just superb!. Plenty of room, comfortable beds, great large kitchen, awesome open concept with floor to ceiling windows in the front of the house showing off those amazing Montana sunsets. Nice patio/yard with bbq and fire pit. Regrettably for us, we didn't get to utilize that too much as we spent so much time in the park! Very close to horseback riding (again, we didn't get around to that this trip). Close to the town of West Yellowstone with good grocery store and lots of restaurant choices.
Would highly recommend -- plenty of beds for large family get togethers. Would return if ever back in West Yellowstone.
We stayed at the AC Inn from 7/17-7/23/16. There were 5 adults and two children in our group. We had plenty of room and the cabin was very clean. We really appreciated the fully stocked kitchen. We loved grilling out on the beautiful evenings and we enjoyed making s'mores in the fire pit. Michael stopped by to chat and make sure that we had everything we needed. You couldn't ask for a more welcoming host. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to others.
Very cool place cool woodsy feel. Beds great kitchen and bathrooms great. I would and will recommend to others. We stayed there for a snowmobiling trip and it was real close to some excellent backcountry riding.
