Nothing is more precious than friends & family gathering to create memory of a lifetime. Designed with such in mind, Palm House is located in a secluded, gated, and private neighborhood, yet it is only 10 minutes away from area beaches & other attractions that Tamarindo has to offer.

The house has an open & inviting atmosphere. You will find yourself drawn to the thatched roof Rancho where you will spend most of your time relaxing by the pool and admiring the spectacular view of the green valley, rolling hills, ocean and sunset in the horizon.

It is a 2-level house. Each bedroom is a suite with its own bathroom. One master suite is on the second floor with a king size bed. A double glass doors opens up to a balcony offering the view. A guest bedroom next door has 2 twin beds with trundles (sleep 4). It also has its own private balcony.

Another master suite is located on the main floor with king size bed and 2 trundles. It features an outdoor private shower.

The Gourmet kitchen is well equipped with modern appliances such as cooktop, oven, microwave, dishwasher and refrigerator. The kitchen opens up to the family room providing enough space for family members to gather during meal preparation. Separated by bifold glass door from the kitchen and family room is the Rancho which provides outdoor formal dining and sitting area.

Our uniquely designed swimming pool has shallow beach area, perfect for sun bathing and unwinding during lazy days.

Enjoying the nature & the outdoors is what Costa Rica is all about. You’ll find yourself waking up to the sound of howler monkeys and birds in the morning. You have many sandy beaches, shops, and restaurants to visit and sample. Guanacaste offers attractions from hiking, surfing, sports fishing, kayaking, horseback riding, canopy tour, national parks, volcanoes to countless many others.

Please note that home furnishing shown in the pictures might have changed. We replace and change our home furnishing every so often for maintenance purposes.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Lovely home, comfortable, impeccably clean, magnificent views. A little off the beaten track - 20 minutes to the town of Tamarindo - and you absolutely need a 4-wheel drive vehicle to get there.

Beautiful, elegant, peaceful!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time in Costa Rica. This is our first trip to this country starting in San Jose, then the Arenal volcano area and cloud forest Monteverde. The Palm House was our last stop to relax and enjoy the beautiful surrounding scenery. The pictures couldn’t even replace the real experience of being there. We were lucky to have an amazing sunset over the range of mountain beyond the pool one night. And moonshine over the valley can bring extreme peace to any soul.

By night time we were greeted with ranges of music from the frogs at the pool area, little green ones, yellow ones and big toads. In the early morning, the misty clouds around the house and down the valley made the place so ethereal.

The house is spacious and modern, tastefully decorated, and all three bedrooms have beautiful valley views and air conditioning. There were plenty of closet space and the beds were comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped with all you need for your favorite meals.

We love the rancho area where we can enjoy outdoors meals, had fun playing at the pool table, relaxing in the hammock. The swimming pool is our savior for the whole day, enjoy the warm water under the palm tree with view of the mountain; what else would one can dream of?

We went zip-lining at the nearby Monkey Jungle Canopy tour and visited several beaches. At times we came home to a meal that was ready for us by Marta. We were lucky to have her there to help with grocery shopping at the nearby supermarket and preparing food. She is such a good cook. We love her rice, bean and the grilled fishes, her seafood soup is fantastic.

The owner was very helpful and checked in with us to make sure everything is ok.

It was such a beautiful get-away experience. Absolutely amazing!

Great home, incredible views, outstanding hosts and service!

  • 5 of 5

I used to manage fine dining restaurants for several James Beard winning chefs and something one of those chefs/restauranteurs taught me early on that I will always remember is "it's not IF something is going to go wrong at some point in service, it's not IF a guest is going to have a complaint - legitimate or not - it's how you handle that mistake or grievance that will determine whether you'll be a successful hospitaltarian and run a successful restaurant."

That same idea could as easily be applied to hosting someone in your home and on that front Tia is a true hospitalitarian. The reality of owning and renting out a home in a tropical rainforest is that something is bound to break, malfunction or just not go to plan as is the case with a couple things during our stay but Tia handled all the issues with grace and expediency which made us feel beyond cared for.

Throughout the entire process - prior to the trip and during - Tia was very responsive, informative and helpful. Her 12 page Welcome guide provides her guests with a wealth of knowledge about the surrounding area and gives you all the keys for a successful stay.

Plus, she has Marta. I cannot say enough great things about her but I absolutely recommend hiring her to prepare a meal of typical local food. We asked her for an ingredient list, purchased the ingredients ourselves then she arrived at 5:00 and by 7:00 we were sitting down to a seven dish meal which included the best arroz con pollo I've had in three different trips to the Guanacaste region. She truly is worth her weight in gold.

One last thing to add, for those people who want ease and convenience this house may not be for you however, if you want a semi-secluded, well cared for home off the beaten path amongst the howler monkeys and the lush green hills then this is it. The reality is that even though Tamarindo is only 12kms from the house it will take 20 mins to get to town and half of that is over bumpy, rutted out country roads. The steep drive up cannot be done without 4WD/AWD. It is a fun ride in however, especially in a thunder storm😀

Gorgeous home! Hate to leave!!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful week at the Palm House. This place is right out of a magazine and was always such a joy to come back to each evening. We lived out on the patio practically. The hammock, the pool table, the daybed, the incredible pool - it was all perfection.

Highly recommend!

Fabulous house!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 8 enjoyed our stay at the Palm House over Christmas. The home was spacious and we loved the indoor-outdoor living area which expanded the dining and visiting area. We also enjoyed having Marta cook our dinners for us. It was wonderful to spend the day out doing adventures and then return home to a delicious dinner about 6:30pm each evening.
